We absolutely loved this hotel. It was our third time visiting El Chaltén, and so far, this place is the best we’ve stayed at. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. The rooms are cozy, with underfloor heating that made everything feel warm and welcoming — a real treat after long days of hiking. The whole atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast is basic, but that’s completely normal for Patagonia — it had everything we needed to start our day. If we ever come back to El Chaltén (and we hope we will!), we’ll definitely stay here again. This hotel is our favorite so far.

Staff were outstanding; friendly, knowledgeable about the area & trails, a great resource right on site. Also were very helpful in securing National Park passes (as the new online site for purchasing was confusing). Spacious, comfortable room. Cozy central lounging space for guests with fireplace. Overall, a great place to stay in this area for us.

We experienced occasional issues with hot water access which they were actively working to correct, and when experienced, were promptly offered an alternate room for showering. Also, wifi access was spotty in our room (which was furthest from the main check-in area); needed to move to sitting area in hallway or to the dining room at times.

Location was great! Easy walk around town and very close to the waterfall and Fitzroy hikes. Very quiet and comfortable hotel. The staff is amazing! Very helpful with recommendation and tips! We rented a car and used the on site parking. I feel renting a car was not necessary because the town is so walkable. Breakfast was nice! We were able to ask for eggs or omelet. We liked the La De Haydee Bakery for box lunch for hikes. It did rain with lots of wind 2 out of 3 days plan accordingly. Try pumpkin soup from Patigonicus!

Little expensive but welcome to Patagonia!

We loved our stay at El Puma. The rooms were super spacious with comfortable beds. We appreciated having a seating area both inside and outside, as well as a bathtub, to really relax after all the hiking. The packed lunches they provide (for a fee) are good with generous portions. There’s spaces for car parking and it’s an easy walk to all the restaurants, bars, and shops in El Chalten. Breakfast was great, with varied selection. We would highly recommend El Puma and would love to stay there again.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and spacious. Bedding was very thoughtful catering for all needs temperature wise. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Well located with parking. We really enjoyed our stay, one of the best of our travels in Argentina, highly recommended.

A kettle or communal option for tea or coffee would have been nice. The takeaway lunch box was really good, but expensive once US dollars was converted to pesos and then to AUD.

I found all the staff to be very pleasant but especially the manageress. The breakfasts were healthy and quite extensive. The room had great character and was very quiet plus being in a great location - close to restaurants, cervecerias and the National Park walk entrances for Fitz Roy and Cerra Torre laguna. For suggestions re walking tracks, the staff provided wonderfully local additional knowledge. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed staying for 4 nights

Everything was excellent

I loved everything about Hosteria El Puma! Off the bat I would recommend it to all and I will be staying here when I return to El Chalten. The staff was incredibly kind, accommodating, and friendly. The room was beautiful, clean, and cozy. Breakfast was delicious and we were right near town, far enough that it was quiet, but close enough to restaurants, shops, and trailheads. I took a relaxing bath with the soaps and salts provided after a hike that was just delightful. The staff provide you with any and all information about El Chalten and were helpful with all of my questions. Thank you to Hosteria El Puma for being a highlight of our trip!

Everything was wonderful!

Loved, loved, loved! I absolutely loved our room and the hotel itself. The room was huge, super comfortable, and just what you need after a long day hiking. Breakfast was good and they prepare eggs on demand so they are just cooked for you, which is nice. the bathroom was super comfortable, water pressure and everything was on point. The hotel was pretty close to the starting point of the Fitz Roy hikes, that was a plus.

Staff was fantastic. They were friendly and knowledgable and worked very hard. The kitchen accommodated early starts and had many options for breakfast. Eggs were made to order for those interested. After very dusty hikes (very dry in El Chalten area), we appreciated hot showers and soaking in the deep tubs. Location was in the center of town and within walking distance of amenities and trailheads.

Temperature control - it took us a while to figure out how to control the temperature. Fortunately we opened both doors (we had a suite in the back building) and figured out how to turn off the radiator to cool it down. Wifi was intermediate, but appears to be the case across El Chalten.

The hotel had Large spacious rooms, a comfortable mattress, and was located close to town.

Nothing major but the staff was not especially friendly. They helped out when you approached them but never greeted you or made eye contact unless you approached them. Breakfast could have used more protein options especially since most people are there to hike
