The location is fantastic, on the river, next to the best pub on the north coast and close to the beach and shops. The room was very clean and recently renovated. The verandas are a good place to sit and watch the world go by. Lovely views over the river and surrounding mountains. There is also a great Japanese restaurant downstairs.

While the rooms have been recently renovated, they style is fairly sterile and corporate, which really doesn’t fit the beachside location. Something quirkier would better fit the vibe of the town. Also, given the room was quite spacious, an extra armchair or table and chairs inside would be good. Also the mattress felt like it was old, a bit hard with lumpy sections. Given the price, some better toiletries would be nice.

The motel is in a fabulous location in the centre of the village, but only a few minutes walk from the beach. It provides parking, which is otherwise difficult to find in Brunswick Heads. The facilities in the room are modern and good. The price was very reasonable, given all these good things.

On weekend nights, the pub next door has live music. I didn't find it too loud or disturbing, and it ended reasonably early in the evening, but might be a problem for travellers with young children.

Location, size of the room, amenities in the room, view from the room and having a balcony. Rates are affordable for the location and indicative of the age of the premises. Easy walk to restaurants, beach, river, shops etc. and only 15 mins from Byron Bay, 30 mins from the mountains. Bed comfy, aircon was great and coffee facilities appreciated. Staff super helpful and respectful for a 4 night stay asking what and what we needed refreshed instead of clean sweeping the room unnecessarily every day (although they would have if that's what we wanted)

The bathroom was dated and very compact, and the shower head was dreadful (water temp was great) with little water and no pressure from it. Needs to be updated to an open plan room with better utilisation of wall space.

I’ve stayed at the River Inn a few times now and it’s always great. The location doesn’t get any better. All rooms have a view of the Brunswick River from the balcony, it’s right next to the beautiful and historic Brunswick Hotel and a bunch of great cafe and restaurants, and just a short stroll to the beach. The room is comfortable and clean. Even though it is central to the action the room is quiet and relaxing. If you are planning a longer stay it doesn’t have a kitchen but bought a small gas burner and cooked some meals in the park.

Noise from bathroom extractor fans travels very easily between walls... Also, note that 'confirmation' of arrival outside the standard 2pm check-in time on this website doesn't mean it is really confirmed... likely they will then call you on the day to notify that they close at 4pm - a bit stressful so check directly with the hotel that your check-in time will be ok if it is a bit late in the day.

Rooms are comfortable, spacious and extremely well cleaned. with a great view of the Brunswick River. The location is terrific, right in the centre of town and only 5 minutes walk from the beach. There is an excellent Japanese restaurant underneath the motel and a pub serving food next door.

Water mix was not right. Hot water was too hot and the cold tap had a limit on how far it would turn so we couldn't cool it down enough to be comfortable. A bit dangerous actually, if you weren't careful. This had the effect that we had to turn the hot water down and that meant there was no pressure. Just a dribble of a shower. A little irritating.

We arrived early, the chap in charge was very welcoming, and said our room was ready and we could check in. We had requested a quite room and that is exactly what was provided. Spotlessly clean, good bed, dark block out curtains and good parking.

No microwave, I guess as they have a bar and restaurant , but still useful to heat up something if you dont want a full meal in the restaurant .

It is in a great position for attractions in Brunswick Heads and surrounds. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The Japanese restaurant downstairs was fabulous, both the food and the decor

Showers were not that great - water pressure and temperature fluctuated.

I've stayed just about everywhere in Bruns and this is the most relaxed of all the places I've stayed. The parking is the best as there was always a spot. Not always available at other properties. The views are fantastic. The room is comfortable and well presented. The water pressure in the shower was also fantastic which is rare. I've found my favorite motel in Brunswick Heads and will be back for sure
