We had a wonderful stay at Shambhala. I visited with my partner and dog for 4 days Monday - Friday and we stayed in Shiva the studio. The property is gorgeous, very peaceful, Bali type feel and we loved the steam room and sauna. We were lucky it was very quiet when we stayed so we had the run of the place! The staff were extremely lovely and friendly but without being on top of you and we spent quite a bit of time chilling on the day bed looking out to the ocean. It was a lovely stay and we will stay again next time we are back as I preferred being out a bit from the main town and being at Belongiñ beach as it is just more peaceful 😊. Oh and the bed in the studio is really comfy

Location was great, access to the beach fantastic, enjoyed the spa tub, sauna and the steam room. Big kitchen with lots of cooking utensils made it easy for a family. The parking was able to accommodate our large vehicle and able to unpack inside the carport (a great bonus with newborn and all the accompanying equipment). Only 500m walk to a great cafe.

Would have used a broom to clean up sand that was trekked inside if I found one, not a big issue and no doubt if I had asked there was likely one that I had not discovered.

The retreat was absolutely beautiful, the most amazing location away from all the chaos of the main town, yet an easy and beautiful short walk along the beach to town from the resort. The beachfront access and daybeds were perfect and we spent most our time on them and just whale spotting. The studio was more like a one bed apartment, everything you could need, much larger than expected and very comfortable. Very good value for money for what you get.

There was honestly nothing we didn’t like about the retreat overall or the studio.

My family and I had a fantastic time at Shambhala and thoroughly enjoyed everything it had to offer. From the stunning beachfront views to the exceptional facilities, our experience was unforgettable. The steam room was particularly impressive, among the best we've ever experienced, and the spa was exceptionally clean. The sauna was also amazing, and the house exuded positive energy. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the natural sunlight that filled the space throughout the day was beautiful. We highly recommend Shambhala to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Rachael, our host and property caretaker, was incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Absolutely beautiful location, very private and romantic, amazing view, stunning beach and sea with almost no people on the beach during peak season after the New Year. Close to the city with many restaurants and also to many beautiful places and interesting activities where we went on trips (Crystal Castle, "TeaTrea" lake, Nimbin, Waterfalls,....). Very nice apartment, beautiful garden, very nice young ladies who take care about the property - Rachael and Mia, great communication, everything! There are only 4 apartments at Shambhala, beautifully natural (wood and glass and green everywhere), inspired by Bali. We even forgot some little stuff there and they sent it to us after our departure home (to another Australian City) with no problem (even on their own cost which we didn't expect at all). Free use of sauna and jacuzzi and your own barbecue place! We could stay longer at the last day of our stay since there was no other booking at that day, which we appreciated a lot. Overall, more than exceptional experience at Shambala Byron :)))

Only 2 little things: 1) automatic coffee machine - Nespresso type or so, which was not there in the apartment and we were missing it 2) cleaning service during the stay - it is not automatically included. We stayed 5 nights and when we asked, there was no problem and property managers provided us with 1 cleaning during our stay. I think it could be included every other day or so without asking. These are very minor things considering the overall quality we received.

Our stay at Shambhala was nothing short of spectacular! Shambhala itself is a haven of relaxation and luxury, but one of the biggest highlights of this place is its location. With private beach access, we had an awe-inspiring experience on our final day swimming with dolphins and fish in the glassy waters just outside of Shambhala. This private slice of paradise is within walking distance of the main town, yet enough distance away where there’s a sense of peace allowing for a restful night's sleep. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of time we spent star-gazing on the daybeds, relaxing in the spa/sauna and embracing the comfort of our accommodation.. Amongst beautiful sunrise and sunset beach walks, swimming with dolphins and the exciting day/night life of Byron Bay's main town - Shambhala will be our choice of stay for any future visits to Byron Bay! Thankyou to the host for providing such a wonderful home away from home!

Location to the beach was very good, back stairs lead to the sand. Was about a 20 minute walk on the beach into the main strip of Byron from the property. There is also a restaurant about 5 minute walk from the property. Steam room, sauna and spas all very good. Accommodation was relaxing and quite and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Nothing it was all great! Maybe just parking is a bit tight if you have a big car but there’s spots for each accommodation and visitor parking too!

The location was superb, very peaceful and relaxing. The spa steam room and sauna were excellent and the rain forest setting with direct access to the beach was perfect. Loved the extra touches of coffee and treats. Bed was super comfy and would love to know the make of the mattress! Thank you for a great stay.

The kitchen crockery was basic but in saying that had everything you needed. Otherwise nothing was wrong

The location was secluded from the hustle and bustle of Byron Bay. The architecture of the villas and gardens was interesting. Large bathtub in the villa was nice and private hot tub outside was wonderful. Easy access to the beach but we enjoyed spending time on the property with our 2yo daughter. She loved the fish in the pond, the bush turkey wandering around the garden, and the kookaburras singing at sunset.

It was a bit chilly at night, but there is a heater in each bedroom or reverse cycle airconditioning. The stairs down to the beach could use a second handrail.

Really amazing property with fantastic calming vibe. Very comfortable beds, crispy bed linen and fluffy towels. Well equiped kitchen with everything you need. Very hot steam room is the best we’ve ever experienced.

The description of the different accomodation options is a bit misleading. We thought Sarita house would have a small outdoor area with a round lounge. That’s not the case. There is no private outdoor area for Sarita.
