Fantastic place to stay. There's a fridge, kettle and microwave with crockery/cutlery. Toiletries are supplied (mini bottles) along with a small bottle of milk. The bed was comfy, the room was spacious, it was close to everything in town. I gained some excellent advice from the lady who checked me in, super helpful! Friendly too and it was a pleasure to speak with her. They have a restaurant which I didn't go to, but it's there if you need it. I had a carport in front of my room for my car which was a lovely plus!

The only thing I didn't like was that I heard my neighbours leave early the next morning. That's not really something they can do anything about! Just be aware of you're a light sleeper, you may want ear plugs in the morning in case someone is setting off early

Car to door. And it was undercover. Bed very comfortable. Extra pillows and blanket if needed. The little touch’s matter. Electric point beside bed. Change that to accessible electric point. Many people travel with Cpap machines. Good comfy chair to sit in rather then just the bed. Good WiFi. Netflix. After a day on the road it’s nice to chill out. Great shower. Very clean. Okay so there was no microwave or sink/kitchenette in the room. Easy sacrifice for the other comfort and great sleep we got. I refer to us as grey nomads by motels. We have travelled a lot and have a check list when booking motels. I usually like a view, but not needed this time as we knew we wouldn’t be there long. Except it was so comfortable we slept in.

There was nothing not to like.

My student daughter was stranded unable to get home to Townsville in the flooding and Castle Lodge and their team looked after her fabulously taking her in and allowing flexibility for departure and went above and beyond to care for her in the 5 nights she was stranded there. Thank you 🙏

Everything I know is from my daughter but she has only the greatest things to say about the facility, staff, food, cleanliness and care of the management in the wellbeing of their guests.

Overall a nice place to stay on the in Bowen. Great for short of long stays. Set a bit out of town but there are courtesy buses from local pubs and clubs that service the accomodation. Included in the price is free use of the clothes washers and dryer with detergent included from reception. Great for people working away or a travellling group looking for a nice quiet place to stop for abit. The restaraunt has great food, for dinner and breakfast if needed.

Sorry only ate on the first night .We understand that the kitchen catering had undergone some difficulties regarding staffing however as we had come to the area to visit family, we did not require catering. The overall facility was within walking range of family so really good. Also we enjoyed the castle theme with added battle wear display in the dining area. Nice pool complex and the staff were welcoming and helpful

TV channel choice could be improved. Unable to check sports team progress in world rugby tournament.

We stayed recently at a luxury hotel in airlie and I can assure you it wasn't as nice as staying in a room in the castle. The room was absolutely immaculately clean. I was VERY VERY impressed. One of the best places I've stayed hands down. The beds where comfy aircon worked great and something I love THE ROOM HAS A FAN!. Ooh and before I forget the fishes!!! 😍

Tv is a little out dated but that's fine felt like home

The rooms were exceptionally clean, put together, but the undercover carports and the spacious carports was fantastic for the bigger 4wd. Right on the outskirts of town, so easy access in and out for when driving to and from work. Lovely people at reception and most of all clean, tidy and spacious. Well maintained the whole premises.

Such a great price for a handy location, just off the highway for a clean, spacious and renovated room/bathroom. You get an undercover carpark right out front of your room, which is such a bonus. Oh, and fresh milk for a cuppa. We also had dinner at the on-site Restaurant, which we thoroughly enjoyed! Very tasty, generous serve and at a reasonable price.

The manager was very friendly and helpful on where to have a meal, being Sunday and their own restaurant was closed on Sunday. The room was well stocked with tea and coffee and other sundries. Bed was a little hard for my liking, still after a long haul from Cairns it was a welcome rest. There was a swimming pool which was a welcome relax after that drive.

There was really nothing much to dislike, being off the highway it was quiet and enjoyable.

It looked very attractive from the outside and had an attractive pool layout with good sized pool, chairs and tables plus sun loungers. We could reverse the car up to the door under shade which was handy given the 33 degrees and useful for unloading bags. There were tables and chairs outside our door which we used in the evening. It was pretty quiet too.

It was dark indoors and rather drab although perfectly clean.
