I had never been to Whyalla before but was expecting this type of room from the photos and price to be stuck in the 70s.. However I was pleasantly surprised of the cleanliness and comfort of my room . I was very relaxed and would stay here again because I liked the vibe . Very much experiencing the locals. I was there for 2 nights and my bed was made and my clothes hung up from the chair . Excellent shower with great pressure. I did just want the room to sleep In though and can’t comment on the location but I felt safe and comfortable . There was entertainment on Karaoke when I was staying but I didn’t hear it as I was warned it may get loud .

We didn't use the cereal provided for breakfast as we chose to find a local cafe. Staff were great. Food in restaurant was well priced and very good.

Saturday night had a disco until 2am on the same level as the guest bedrooms. We thought the door to the guest room corridor would remain closed to keep noise down but there were girls running up and down the corridor until all hours. Not ideal but we could laugh about it.

For budget accommodation (under $100/ night for 2) the breakfast provisions were great. The aircon/heater was a split system. The area was quiet and meals could be purchased downstairs.

Only if I paid more for the room, the windows were dirty, hard to see out. The electrical sockets were a lil dodgy. The side table lamp dimmed and brightened.

So clean and well presented. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were really helpful and friendly. And the night of the day I left I found I had lost my fitbit charging cord and it was most likely in the room. I emailed the hotel, and by next morning I had a response saying it was found and would be waiting for me when I pass back through Whyalla in a week. That was a great relief.

No internet

The staff were very friendly and helpful. A good nights sleep is the most important thing for me and the bed was very comfortable. So the most important criteria was excellent.

There was nothing I didn't like. I can't rate the restaurant or other services as I didn't get to use these. The room had a good bathroom and very comfortable bed.

Staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was great. There was a small breakfast pack with cereal and milk provided, which was a nice additional touch.

There were wet towels in the bathroom - but everything else was clean so I assume staff just forgot to remove them. Reception gave us fresh warm towels so not such a bother. The rooms don't hold much sound though and the rowdy group next door did keep us up!

Staff were amazing. Room was big, clean and inviting. The food at the hotel restaurant was great, and cooked to perfection.

I think the doorknob to the room was faulty and it took sometime to get it to open with the key when entering the room. Couldn't find the kettle, could've asked, but didn't.

Lift not in operation and struggling to walk up and down stairs due to ankle and back problems

The breakfast was cereal only. I can’t eat cereal so I can’t comment.

Initially I was in a room with a compressor outside the window so I didn’t get enough sleep. I asked to be moved and they couldn’t help enough.and there’s no way to open a window for fresh air.

The in-room breakfast was only just adequate. Would have preferred a dining room hotel breakfast, but I knew at booking that this wasn't available. Enjoyed the shower!

There's nothing I didn't like. Given the very inclement weather, under cover parking would have been great, but again I knew that it was not available.
