We have just spent 4 night staying in the Woodsmoke cabin at the Highlander cottages in Cradle Mountain. The staff are very welcoming and friendly providing lots of helpful advice on the local attractions and amenities. Our cabin was very secluded and so quiet, immaculately clean. The kitchen is small but you want for anything, it’s very well equipped. The wood fire was all set to go for us and there was enough wood left to last you an entire winter ! There is a communal laundry which you pay $8 to use for your entire stay )includes laundry liquid) .The property is located an easy walk opposite the cradle mountain visitor centre where you can purchase park passes and shuttle bus tickets to travel to the various en route to dove lake . A couple of kms up the road is the Peppers tavern which offers easy family dining options (pizzas from $24 ). We thoroughly enjoyed this relaxing few days and can’t wait to return.

I felt like Goldilocks in the Three Bears cottage. It was awesome and the wood burning fire was great and needed after a wet but wonderful day in Cradle Mountain. We were lucky to have glorious sunshine the previous day and the walk to Marion’s lookout was gruelling but worth the view. The property was well equipped for self catering but make sure you take your supplies. A couple of restaurants nearby but I think pre booking is recommended the visitors centre cafe did not have much choice and was quite expensive for what you got. I would highly recommend a Devils tour which is just down the road. Another thing about the property is it is an easy walk to the shuttle bus.

Wow wow wow!!! Cradle mountain is incredible - and the Highlander made it even better!!! We experienced a midday at plus 30 deg c then minus 2 deg c 24 hours later. We had the best time - the most incredible walks (lake - mountain - rainforest - and oh so much wildlife ) knowing that we had this brilliant wooden hut with fireplace, so many Tassie bush creatures nearby and the most incredible starry skies to come back to… it could not have been better. Located right near the park entrance, you can drive in or catch the easy buses through the park - super easy - and the staff at Cradle Highlander were super helpful with everything. If you are planning a stay at Cradle Mountain- you’ve found your best option at Highlander!

Pandalini Cabin was super clean (thank you cleaning crew!) and the whole layout was built for comfort. Love the privacy of the cabin too, we felt more connected to the trees and birds living on the grounds. Currawong family were super friendly, inquisitive and direct. Wallaby family came by too. Our encounter with the resident wildlife felt personal and sincere. Wish we stayed longer and we intend to come back to Highlander for a longer stay in the not too distant future.

We really enjoyed the log cabin experience. The location was excellent, and the gas heater kept the cabin warm during the chilly evenings. Stargazing around 11 PM was a memorable highlight of our stay.
While our stay was enjoyable, a few issues stood out: the low water pressure in the shower, an overly firm mattress that caused back pain, and the lack of amenities like an iron and shower caps. The Wi-Fi could also use improvement, as it had limited data (2GB per 24 hours) and performed poorly. The gas heater was effective but couldn’t stay on for long due to limited air circulation, which caused discomfort overnight.

Very cozy cabin with all the facilities we needed and a fireplace! It is placed in the middle of the forest, lots of wallabies around the house AND A WILD WOMBAT!

Stayed at woodsmoke cottage. Ideal for a couple. Not large but everything you needed. Fantastic place. Lovely well equipped cosy cabin. Very clean, well presented. Everything you needed. great location, only short walk to shuttle bus. Toiletries excellent, cooking equipment well thought out. No oven but an air fryer and hot plate. Great bed and variety of pillows. Very quiet and private. Cabins very well insulated. we had good weather but I am confident the cabin would be warm even if it was cold.
It was all good. No complaints. I really appreciate the effort that the managers have put in. It is like they said well what would I need to have an enjoyable stay and then worked out how to make that happen.

What a gorgeous cottage to make our cradle mountain stay more spectacular. The cottage had plenty of room for our family, was very clean and kitchen had everything needed. We arrived to a lovely cosy cottage with the fireplace already roaring to warm us up on a cold day. Ample Firewood supplied just outside your door. Enjoyed our morning visit from the native animals and hearing the rain on the room whilst we drank wine and read by the fire. Was so close to everything, only a few minutes drive. We will be back to stay one day in the future. Thanks for making our cradle mountain stay everything we could have imagined it to be.
Nothing. Everything was wonderful.

Roomy and bigger space than most other accommodations. Space was clean. Clean towels supplied. Late check in was smooth and easy. Toiletries for face, hair and hands were all provided. Loved the small walk from the free allocated carbay to the wooden cabin. If you are lucky, you might see a wallaby. The kitchen was well maintained and adequate if you want to self-cater your own breakfast and meals. All equipment cleaned and tidy. UHT milk, Ceylon teabags and instant coffee provided. We stayed in the Quoll wooden cabin, so it was very close walk to reception and laundry room. Plenty of power points for you to use for charging your devices.
A small quota of internet 2 GB per day. It starts new every 12pm of the day. No breakfast cafe or dinner cafe. We went to Cradle Mountain Lodge or Peppers Lodge nearby to have our dinners and meals.

From the moment we arrived and saw the Wombat stroll through the reception, we knew we were going to love it. Great staff and set up. Surrounded by wildlife and in the most convenient location for accessing the Cradle mountain visitor centre. We stayed in Stringybark cabin and had regular visits from the Currawongs, Pademelons and Bush tailed Possum and baby. Our own wildlife hide.
Wifi is a bit hit and miss but better than expected considering where we were. Good mobile phone reception so no problems using that if required.
