We had a wonderful stay at Swansea Motor Inn! The location is absolutely perfect as its right by the water with beautiful views of Great Oyster Bay. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and we especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere after a day of exploring the East Coast. The staff were warm, welcoming and more than happy to offer local tips and recommendations, even meeting the friendly little dog Buddy at receptio. It’s a great base for visiting Freycinet National Park or simply relaxing by the seaside. Highly recommend for a quiet, comfortable getaway in a stunning part of Tasmania!

The view was exceptional! The check in was the first step in an overall welcoming experience. I loved all the extra effort they take with old motel to nail the concept of 'a comfortable and charming experience'. It's the little things they do - the bright cushion, the very comfortable mattress, the comfortable chairs on the balcony, all these things add to a friendly homeliness. Sure it is a dated place and the tv is small but this motel felt every part of being on holiday and I'd rather read a good book and enjoy the view and the peace and quiet.

If only I had a spare week or two to stay.

The view is clearly the main selling point for this property. We also enjoyed having a bottle of wine in the barbecue area while the sun went down. It's conveniently located at the end of Swansea's main street, so everything is within easy walking distance.

The room itself was pretty dated, particularly the bathroom (very dark and daggy). I've never been a fan of brown towels. I thought the price we paid did not really reflect the quality, but I suppose we were paying top whack because it was so close to Christmas.

The view is amazing. Room is sizable and very comfortable. Lovely little table and chairs outside the room for amazing views and a nice afternoon wine and some local oysters! Overall, good value for money and the Hilton of roadside Motor Inn's.

Not that we were overly bothered, but there was no turn down service for multi-night stays. The BBQ facilities don't hold up well with wind, my beautiful steaks were ruined. The coffee shop immediately opposite charged me $9.5 for an iced latte, due to the extra milk apparently - I would try elsewhere! Quite an old TV - needs replacing

Last minute booking- very little available and peak season. The reviews honestly don’t give this fabulous little hotel on the bay enough credit. It’s basic but clean and really comfy. But the view is amazing! We had an upstairs room with a bay view balcony and honestly lying on the bed, watching tennis and then looking out down to the expansive view of the bay, with the evening ocean breeze was really great. We loved the fluffy blankets provided too. We brought breakfast with it and used the fridge and things provided - the balcony is great. Highly recommend this hotel overall.

It is a lot of money for a basic hotel, although it was peak time in a reasonably remote location. I did ask for an additional bed which in the end was offered but not provided, however the request was quite last minute and we made do.

Although the motel was not in the center of the town it was located close to a very nice cafe and within easy walking distance of some of the restaurants. The view from the room was good as it overlooked the bay. There were washing and drying facilities on the premises which were very handy. It was clean and functional with standard motel provisions. We especially liked the picture :).

Parking was a bit cramped. The view from the rooms would have been superb if there was not for the parking area in front of it.

The sea views are just wonderful. Many hotels talk about the sea views only to be disappointing. This Motel is just as described. I loved sitting on my verandah and painting the sea around 10am. The sun hitting the waves at this time, had everything sparkling. Wonderful with a nice cup of tea on the little table and chairs on the verandah. The staff are busy but are very friendly. Nice people and very helpful.

There is nothing to dislike about this property.

There were extensive views of the ocean from our upper level bedroom and there was a boat ramp and a jetty for fishing nearby. Although certain aspects of our room were dated, there had been some efforts to upgrade the room. The room for had a visible gap letting in cold air but we improvised a door stop. The staff were very friendly and helped us with information about Freycinet. There was an excellent bakery in town where we stopped to have breakfast.

Great location with beautiful ocean views. We originally only booked one night, but was so good, we booked a second night. Helpful, friendly staff, nice, quiet area - hearing the occasional wave crashing on the shore was very nice. Easy walk to the eateries (we ate at The Barkmill Tavern and Bakery the first night, went back for brekky on our way to Freycinet the next morning and the RSL Club the second night - great meals at both locations). The room was bigger than most motel rooms, and the balcony overlooking the ocean was a bonus. Definitely recommend for your stay in Swansea.

It was a last minute booking but everything went like clockwork with it. My room was spacious with a balcony that I could look out from and see and hear the ocean. I had a dining setting inside and one outside although within seconds of taking food out there I had about seven seagulls hovering overhead but none came any closer, maybe due to the plastic guard owls that were on the rail of the balcony (with heads that nodded in the breeze). The bed was comfortable as were the indoor dining chairs. The staff member I met in reception was friendly and helpful.

Only small things: the sink wasn’t in the bathroom so it was able to function as a sink for both the bathroom and the kitchen area. There wasn’t a hook or rail for the hand towel. The TV was mounted in about the only place it could be but it had a hair-trigger on switch and it came on a couple of times as i obviously walked too close to it making me jump out of my skin a couple of times.
