We (my partner and I) stayed here during the 2024 Christmas period to experience everything the Mildura area had to offer at this most delightful time of year. Being avid celebraters of Christmas and also country Victoria enthusiasts, we had invested our delicate hopes with the Quality Hotel Mildura Grand…and they did not disappoint. We were greeted at check in by the mouthwatering olfactory treat of fine steak being prepared at Stefanos nearby. The lobby was decorated beautifully for the Christmas season that inspired an infectious wave holiday cheer throughout the building among staff and guests. The room itself was private, sound proof and perfectly climate controlled to meet our needs during our Australian summer stay. The bedroom also had some though provoking art work on the wall that was the source of multiple amusing discussions throughout our time at the Grand. The bathroom did indeed boast a spacious shower, cleanliness and a hair dryer that could dry hair with the best of the its nearest personal appliance competitors. Facilities available to us during our stay were picture-perfect. The smoking area provided was situated in an uplifting Eden like garden setting, making this unsightly habit all the more enjoyable. The pool area was a welcoming oasis where we could retreat from the December heat, kept clean, cool and spacious enough to facilitate many users comfortably. All this was a short walk from riverfront views and some of the most beautiful walking tracks in this beautiful city.

The only unfortunate component of our stay was that checkout came too quickly. We will definitely be back for another stay in the near future.

Initially we were a bit dissapointed with Room 15 that had been reserved for us, although it was likely exactly what we had booked online sight unseen ... so thought why not ask if there might be a chance for an upgrade? Anita at reception said we could check out Room 50 as it was available for the 3 nights, we checked it out and it was perfect. We were lucky so there was no problem organising the upgrade and we had a fabulous short stay. We loved the character of the hotel and now understand which room we would like to book for our next holiday in Mildura. We enjoyed eating both at the Spanish Grill on Wednesday night and at Stefano's on Friday night (our 27th wedding anniversary!) both nights were wonderful. Thank you all so much for making our 3 nights a memorable stay.

Hard to beat the location, directly opposite the river and surrounded by great restaurants. Incredible history, built in 1890 and true to the original architecture. Original photos and stories in the lobby are worth your time.

There are minor issues in the rooms that I accept are to be expected in a dwelling of this vintage. The ceiling access hole above the shower was in disrepair (room 43). Some signs of mould on the ensuite ceiling that steam ventilation is a challenge.

We love the age and retro feel of this hotel. Nice to stay in something that is not mundane modern. The price for stay is excellent, our room huge. The swimming pool is excellent and we had it mostly to ourselves. Solid breakfast at a cheap rate. Location, could not be better. The air-conditioning was fantastic for 46 degrees

I would have loved a couch in my room after 6 nights. Too long relaxing on the top of beds

The location is terrific! We got off the bus and crossed the road. Restaurants and cafes were at our finger tips. The staff accommodated our needs, yet respected our privacy. They were super friendly. Reception staff attended to our responses to queries in such a polite manner especially granting us a room with natural light. They went above and beyond our expectations. The facilities were fantastic, clean pool and a wonderful rose garden to relax in and generally a warmer than Melbourne temperature too!!

There were only 2 electricity outages in our hotel wing , however the issue was rectified swiftly.

The hotel blends historic elegance with comfort high ceilings, classic décor, and a peaceful garden made the stay feel special. The location was ideal, with cafes, the riverfront, and attractions just a short walk away.

While charming, some room furnishings felt dated and could use refreshing. Also, navigating between different wings of the hotel was slightly confusing at first.

Did not have breakfast. Location was excellent, central to good restaurants and near the river. We were upgraded to an excellent room, with views, and the receptionist who made the change was patient and professional. My cousin, from England, had only good words for our stay.

We were fully satisfied with our accommodation and that was all we really wanted from a hotel.

The closeness to the river and ease of moving around the town. The staff were very friendly and very attentive and the food in both restaurants that we tried was delicious

The rooms are a little dated and could use a good paint and up date. However the rooms are large and the bed was super comfy. I would stay there again no problem at all

Staff were very friendly. Had a family room with upgrade to a better room. Breakfast was included,was very good buffet. Had new pool ect since last visit. Has a tab plus pokie place attached. Had xmas dinner with large buffet and drinks.

Didn't like next door pizza restaurant. Pasta and pizza were a disappointment. Was not sure if the restaurant belongs to Grand hotel.

The hotel was comfortable, clean, and convenient. We enjoyed being so close to the main riverside park and Loch Island where the Light Show takes place. It was great to be so close to cafes, and to enjoy the Grande's pool.

Some of the light fixtures looked a bit cheap.
