This place was a special discovery. We were looking for a place away from noisy areas with a view. This place exceeded our expectations! The beds, towels, linens were first class. The view was phenomenal. The restaurant gave us one of the best meals of our vacation. Truly inspiring to stay here. The hosts were warm and welcoming and provided extra touches such as taking our bags to our room and explaining where everything was and how things worked. Oh, how we wish we could have stayed longer!

The location is simply breathtaking, the room was spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. Frau and Herr Ratgeb are wonderful hosts, very polite and friendly. Our German knowledge is quite poor but we got by nevertheless. The dinners were absolutely fantastic: Austrian cuisine is not particularly famous, so it took us by surprise how delicious every meal that we tried here was (and we aren't people who are easily impressed when it comes to food).

This lovely hotel looks just as good as it does in the photos. It has a perfect balance of tradition and modern touches and everything is of a very high standard! The staff were very nice, friendly and looked after us well. They were also very kind and understanding when we got the timing of our dinner reservation wrong and the kitchen was closing. The food is absolutely fantastic, would highly recommend the goulash! Breakfast is brought to your table and the variety is excellent. The location is also great and the views are spectacular! We would love to return if ever back in the area.

A book in the room with information (for example restaurant menu, kitchen opening hours, breakfast times, check out times) would have been great however we received this information when we asked so not a big problem :)

An amazing location- can’t call them staff. This is a family run hotel and they make you feel like family from the moment you arrive! And the food is incredible. I feel very fortunate to have this Austrian alpine gem!!

Comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated room. The views from the room are breathtaking. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating. The food is exceptional. Highly recommended.

The room is very big, clean, and great facilities. The hotel area is very beautiful. After long drive and checked in, we made a walk in the forest, then had dinner at hotel’s restaurant. The food was very delicious. Also breakfast is very great.

Absolutely fantastic calm place to relax and spend time. Owners (family) were really nice and helpful and the meals they cook and serve are so tasteful.

The only thing we missed as a family with small kids was a fridge in the room.

Very nicely located, but take into account that if you arrive by bicycle ( as we did ) after a day ride coming from Salzburg, you need to climb for 3km on average at 8%. But it is worth the effort! Nice view over the valley! Moreover, we arrived on Monday, when the restaurant is closed, but the owner was so kind to prepare anyhow a nice meal for us. The breakfast was very good. In conclusion: after a very good stay we were prepared to start another day of biking along the CycloVia Alpe2Adria.
