The place is really remote from the busy city center, which we appreciated ! A quiet place in a busy city. At the same time the villa is very close to nice coffee shops, food stores, and restaurants of Santa Theresa. The place is wonderful and very comfortable. The team was really helpful in booking taxis, sharing recommendations about places to visit or what to do. We stayed there for 5 nights as we were looking for a restful place: we really enjoyed it !!

We would have appreciated if there were more offers for lunch or dining at the villa. Even if the place looks like a cute Eden garden, the surroundings can be pretty noisy, and people need to be aware that even if the area is cute, it is still dangerous. Two groups of guests have seen their phone stolen while being around the villa during our stay.

The house is situated on a hill with a magnificent view over the city. The interior design is carefully chosen and creates a very relaxing and beautiful space. Breakfast is very tasty!

Because of the remoteness it is necessary to take a taxi to go into town, and it‘s a very curvy drive. The lady that welcomed us was not the most welcoming, however the main host is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go again (:

Most zen stay in the chaos of Rio! I literally felt like I was in a different city. The hotel/B&B is absolutely amazing. My room had a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool, and the room was HUGE, with a massive bathroom and the best water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was great and you can help yourself to nespresso coffee and water in the kitchen. The pool is dreamy and the little hot tub was very cute if it got cool at night. The staff is all lovely and very friendly and helpful. It was fun to explore the house and see all the beautiful furniture and books. Absolutely recommend, it was a dream. Also MONKEYS!

It was a little complicated to get Ubers from the city to go to Santa Teresa because of the brick roads and hills, but that’s not a fault of the property - just something to know! Also no restaurant at the property besides breakfast so you will need to explore for lunch and dinner - again this is fine as there is plenty in walking distance just another thing to know if you’re arriving from traveling and tired etc!

The house is amazing, and so is the interior decoration. The view over the bay and sugarloaf mountain are great. The staff is super friendly and very helpful with recommendations in the area.

In that price segment I would expect a higher quality and more varied breakfast. While I understand that this is a laid back house rather than a luxury hotel, some little services like help with luggage etc would be appreciated.

The view is incredible and the staff were very sweet

The breakfast is served from 8.15 only, while the sun rises at 5am. There are no curtains in some sides of the room meaning most guests are awake from around 6:30. Would be good to have the option to have breakfast earlier. When we arrived we were hoping to lay by the pool and relax, maybe have an afternoon nap. This was not possible as the owner was hosting a party in the hotel for about 40 guests, with very loud music. We actually felt like we had to leave and come back when the party was over as there was no space for us to comfortably hang around, wich is exactly the point of such a boutique hotel.

Such an amazing place, the decor, the staff, the breakfast are just the best. Once you arrive the place it is just unbelievable, the view is stunning and if you are an architecture lover this is the place to be. Plus the super nice staff, a very great welcome and one of my favorite breakfast, sitting outside in front of the view and the pool, just like a dream!

The location is just a little off the main road so better to reach with Uber.

The aesthetic of this building is one of a kind. The interior design is very very cool. The views of the entire city of Rio de Janeiro are spectacular and never get old. Every time we looked out the view took our breath. They have access to the roof top and oh my God it was one of the best moments anyone can have. And of course, the staff were all absolutely wonderful. The breakfasts made by the chefs every morning were some of the best we had in Brazil. The service from each member of the staff was the best we had. They have a Moroccan brother as part of their staff and he left a note in Arabic to welcome us seeing my name is Mohammed. It was a very sweet touch. This will forever be one of the coolest places I've stayed in. Highly recommended.

I wouldn't say "didn't like" because considering where this property is located, it was fully expected. So this is for those not prepared but hot showers likely will not happen and mosquitoes are plentiful. Just a heads up.

Wonderful design hotel, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast. I enjoyed both the time out exploring Santa Teresa and the time in, reading and relaxing by the pool (with gorgeous views of Rio). I stayed in the master suite and would definitely come back alone or with my partner/friends.

Nothing really, it was just a bit difficult to find the first time because I arrived at night. There was a loud party nextdoor on the weekend, which made it hard to sleep, but it's something that the hotel can control.
