Very cheap and amazing place to stay for a night or two, very central. The breakfast was amazing!
We had dinner at the restaurant in the evening because we saw the prices were very reasonable, but the food was terrible, as was the service. All the tables were left dirty for a long time, and the waitress never came to bring the menu. We ordered some cheese balls, but they were completely frozen on the inside. We told the waitress, but she forgot to bring them back, and we had to ask for them again, the restaurant was empty there was only 3 people having food a part from us. She was sitting down on a chair. We also ordered a pizza, which was like the cheapest frozen pizza from the supermarket, really bad and cold when it arrived.

The hotel was clean, the personnel spoke English and the breakfast was rich in options. The room is big. We only stayed one night and it was good to be in a lively neighbourhood, with many people on the street, so that we could walk at night
The pillow was very hard, so I wake up with the neck hurting, but that is a personal preference. Also, the AC is old and the fan can't be adapted. If you need to use it during the night, it would blow directly on the bed. Luckily the room temperature was OK during our stay so we didn't need to use it during sleeping

Really good value hotel, with lots of facilities (restaurant, gym, pool). The room was comfortable, and the shower was nice and hot. We've stayed in 4 star hotels that weren't as nice. We ate at the restaurant twice and the food was good, and very reasonably priced for a hotel! Breakfast was also good, with lots of selection.
There was a lot of sand on the floor of the room, otherwise it was very clean. Also the A/C was very noisy.

Mostly location (near our church in Fatima), and the price. The Breakfast was excellent, they honored my do not disturb sign on the door. I have stayed here several times before and will probably stay here again when I return to Rio in a year. The grocery store and pharmacy were very close as well.
The neighborhood could be better, but this is true in all of Rio. It was just as good as where I stayed in Copacabana.

Really excellent room with a super comfy bed, wardrobes and desk. Bathroom had a hot and powerful shower. On-site restaurant was great price and did really good food. The pool on the roof was great to cool down and had a bar with sports on in the evening. Great location with supermarkets and restaurants around. Place for Ubers to pull in for us to explore the city
could improve the sun beds on the roof as most were broken.

If you enjoy going to pubs in the evenings, then the location is great.
Like in many Brazilian hotels, the coffee was awful. It's prepared in a thermos and doesn't taste good. The same could be said for the entire breakfast. There's a wide selection, but it's tasteless. The AC was incredibly noisy, so when it was turned on, it felt like a car was running inside the room.

Excellent breakfast choices. The small gym and rooftop splash pool and bar are nice extra facilities.
WiFi frequently dropped out on 10th floor. Location is excellent for walking to downtown sights during the day but I felt uneasy at night on the streets since the area looks a bit run down. However, taxis are everywhere and remarkably cheap so there's no need to take risks.

The location is perfect, just in the middle of Lapa's interesting life, good supermarkets, restaurants, music-samba, very nice, old houses around (unfortunately many in bad condition, but they have charm), the aqueduct just 5 minutes on foot, center, cathedral, metro, tram and Selaron steps (so Santa Teresa) 10 minutes on foot, plenty of buses nearby. Flamengo beach and good weekend market 15 on foot. Nice rooftop with pool and view over Santa Teresa e.g. Of course you will see here homeless people too like in any other country's big cities, but I traveled alone as a woman and I felt safe (I am not a brave type). Anyway, you will see policemen at many corners in Brazil. After this hotel in Lapa I stayed in Copacabana/Ipanema area for some nights and I think was a really good idea this kind of split between locations. Breakfast was great. The room was big with comfortable bed. The street was noise, but you are in the center area... I could sleep well by open window. I didn't use the air-condition (It was summer, but for me the temperature was good without ac), but I tried once and seemed a little bit loud. (As far as I know that is a common problem in Brazil.) The senior man with glasses at the reception (unfortunately I don't know his name) was really professional and friendly.

Large and perfectly clean room in a big hotel with pool on the rooftop and gym at the last floor. Good breakfast from also early in the morning. It is placed in Lapa but not in the noisy main street. I would recommend it for a good and confortable place at a good price.
