Kind, caring, helpful staff willing to go the extra mile. Rodriguez and Francisco were extremely helpful with booking tours/night buses, advising on getting about. Both are very friendly and knowledgeable. Clean, basic accommodation. Great location for amenities. I felt safe at hotel and area. Lovely breakfast with a good selection. Love the samba night at the bar across the road, If you don't like noise, it's worth taking along ear plugs as it's loud .i'll definitely stay here again.

Location, location, location... The hotel is old (that means historic) located in the middle Lapa district ( all the party and more party around), if you are going to Carnaval it is a great place to stay, the staff is super friendly and helpful, is near of the most interesting places in the center but the included breakfast gets the gold medal

Since it is in the party zone it's too noisy by night, it doesn't have a pool.

Simple but very clean accommodation. The room offered everything we needed (fridge, quiet air conditioning, ceiling fan, shelves and hooks), beds comfortable. Friendly staff. Breakfast quite rich, but repeated every day.

Terrible Wi-Fi (strong only at the reception), poorly designed windows with a large gap (street noise can be heard, earplugs are a must). The dirty area around the entrance to the hotel, just around the corner were homeless people. During the carnival, the price was double (disproportionate). Room equipment a little bit obsolete.

Great place to stay for Carnival. Very clean, breakfast in the morning, and friendly staff. Very close to Lapa and the bloccos going on there.

Hotel Carioca is an old building that has been tastefully remodelled preserving the integrity of its age. I loved the reading room off the dining room, the comfortable lounge area, the big windows in the bedroom that opened onto the. balcony & view. The breakfast was excellent! Great location with friendly & helpful staff.

Our room was on the top floor and we had fantastic view Breakfast was good Located in the central area, so you can just cross the street to get a party. Although it could be loud on weekends

Simple but good hotel. Centro location is very good, about a 10 min walk to the metro. Breakfast is great, and bed is huge

The staff is superb: very attentive and friendly. the breakfast is also amazing.

The party in the front is quite lousy during weekends.
