Lovely hotel in Barra de Tijuca. We wanted somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Rio and this place was superb. Very safe area, fantastic beach and near a great shopping centre with some very good restaurants (highly recommend Fogo do Chao). The Hotel is beautifully laid out, very modern and a nice pool area. We had a seaview room which was well proportioned and comfortable. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The Spa was superb (I had the best massage ever) and at the time of our stay were doing discounts on massage. We ate in the Asian restaurant once, which was good if a little overpriced for some dishes. Breakfast was superb, with everything you could possibly want. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Rio. Muito obrigado!

Nothing. I liked it all

The hotel feels truly luxurious, with a sense of space and elegance throughout. The beach in front of the hotel is where the clean ocean begins — a major plus compared to the central beaches of Rio. There’s a nice promenade along the beach, great for walking. Even though my room didn’t face the ocean, the view of the natural landscape was beautiful and relaxing.

No fish at breakfast — surprising for a five-star hotel in Brazil, especially with so many Japanese restaurants in the country. Starting around 6:30 AM, helicopters fly directly over the hotel every few minutes. It’s loud enough to wake you up.

Great scenery, wonderful staff accommodating every need where everything is possible, clean and very hygienic, efficient air conditioning, great room, pool, beach, facilities, breakfast worthing paying for with the room booking, tours and other great activities available for all ages. A great location if you want a quiet atmosphere to relax on the balcony with great views.

Could not connect to free wifi due to security issues - mac book pro prevented access and had to connect to phone via Mobile hotspot. Room cards did not work on a regular basis.

Location is great , gym is very good, rooms are great with balconies overlooking the ocean or the lagoon. Free bikes are provided for short rides.

Cleaning the room was not consistent. We had to ask on many occasions to have our room cleaned, though it was thorough when done. Extra towels should be provided in the rooms, it’s a 5 star property. Breakfast was disappointing cause the hot items were always the same. Processed meats and sausages, some quality protein items like salmon or chicken non processed meats would have been appreciated. Breakfast staff Dominique and Marcela were very kind, warm and friendly and made a difference to our stay.

The Grand Hyatt is one of the most modern hotels of Rio, it was built in 2016 for Rio Olympic Games. It is located in the safe and quieter neighborhood of Barra. The staff was very customer-friendly; special thanks to the concierge team, in particular Fernanda and Victor, who arranged various activities for us and gave us many advice. They really contributed to make our stay special.

My stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Rio de Janeiro was truly remarkable, and there were several aspects that I particularly enjoyed. Firstly, the personalized service left a lasting impression on me - the staff's attention to detail and their genuine warmth made me feel like a VIP throughout my stay. Additionally, the breathtaking views from my room, overlooking the picturesque Rio de Janeiro coastline, were a daily source of delight. The culinary experiences at the hotel's restaurants were exceptional, and the spa treatments provided a perfect way to relax and rejuvenate. What I liked most, though, was the overall sense of luxury and comfort that enveloped me during my stay, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

I'm delighted to say that there was absolutely nothing I didn't like about my stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. From the exceptional service to the breathtaking views, the culinary delights, and the overall sense of luxury and comfort, my experience was flawless. I absolutely loved the view of the beach from the room. The beach was right across the hotel and easily accessible. The pool and staff were great. The room and surrounds were very clean and pleasant. Great value for money

A restaurant that was open for longer but the opening times of the restaurant and bar are standard times for a hotel. We just wanted to have more fun so did not like that food stopped at 11pm

Great design and location, right next to the beach, close to malls. Well designed rooms, good public area and swimming pools. Excellent service from very kind staff, especially the bellboys and Condó restaurant staff

We asked for adjoining oceanfront rooms (as we are a family), but weren´t told we´d then have to book a double and a twin (booked two twin rooms). In addition on arrival we didn´t even get to be on the same floor - leading to endless hassle, as your key card only lets you into your own floor.:-( Also, the furniture is showing a bit of tear, it´s dirty and tattered in places in common areas.
