Excellent beachfront location, comfortable bed, a very good shower, attentive staff

Room was functional but small, with windows that are not soundproof, and neither are the dividing walls. You can hear everything in the adjacent rooms. Facilities are on a 3 star level, and definitely not a 5 star property.

Some confusion at checkin but otherwise fine. They asked for a small tourist tax at checkout which was not substantial but when pressed they said it wasn’t actually mandatory. I don’t like that they do that- it feels predatory and like someone is taking advantage. It wasn’t the sum - it was the way it was requested. And when pressed, they said I didn’t have to pay!

I had an iPhone charger stolen from my room. It was a model 15 charger. When I reported it to Pablo, he told me that the only thing he could do was send someone to help me look around the room and I had to report it to the police station. It was embarrassing and disappointing. He also said that because it was Saturday night, he couldn’t look at the cameras and that it didn’t make sense that someone stole my charger… But it does make sense since there are so many boys stealing phones on the streets. And since they steal the phones, they need chargers, which leads me to believe they stole mine. Although, when I told another worker at the front desk, he said he would bring it up to the manager.

Perfect location for a Rio vacation: perfect view of Ipanema beach and mountains, in the best mostly residential neighborhoods of Ipanema and Leblon. Excellent free breakfast buffet in second floor restaurant with mor views of the beach and ocean. Wonderful roof top views especially at sunset, with a small pool and bar. Bathroom design and storage space in the room were excellent, as was the beach views out the front window.

A tiny improvement might include power outlets at bedside tables for phones etc.

Great positioned hotel with a pool and bar on the roof. The beach of Ipanema is two minutes away from the hotel entrance. The staff was always polite and very helpful, also very professional. The concierge service in the hotel does amazing work. The food was also very delicious and well made. All together, a great stay in a clean and well managed hotel. When we return to Rio, we'll return to Sol Ipanema.

We had a very disturbing neighbor in the room next to us, which was not the fault of the hotel. The staff did everything to help us resolve the situation.

Stayed here twice during a visit to Rio before and after a wedding in Buzios, very nice hotel in a central location on Ipanema Beach, rooms were very nice, we had a superior room first which overlooks the beach, great views, 2nd stay we were upgraded to a family room which also overlooks the beach, beds were super comfortable, shower very good, well stocked mini bar in both the rooms we stayed in, staff all friendly and helpful, lots of good bar's and restaurants near the hotel

Lifts seemed to be constantly busy but not much the hotel can do about that

Great location across the road from Ipenema beach. The bedroom was a good size, large bed, great bed linen, good shower with plenty of toiletries supplied.

The water in the shower could, at times, get very hot or cold which wasn’t great. There are works being done to the building using scaffolding. During the day, engineers would be working on the building and could easily see into the room (when one is dressing or relaxing). Appreciate the works need to be done but it would’ve been nice to be informed of this in advance rather than finding out as an engineer was outside the window!

Perfect location in Ipanema. The breakfast should be more rich in vegetables...there were not any of them, a real pitty. The view either the sea or the mountain are very nice.

Pefectly located in one of the best beaches in Brasil, for its view, the crowd, services, and the splendorous and vigorous neighbourhood of Ipanema. Great breakfast, the staff was kind and willing to help. And the room was confortable enoughm with a beautiful view of the beach.

I believe that the rooftop (and sits in it) is small for the amount of travelers passing by the hotel. The pool too. The cleaning personal have to use the same elevators than the tourists (they don't have one for their own), so that was inconvenient at certain moments of the day.

Definitely the location is amazing, Ipanema beach front. Walking distance to great restaurants in a safe area. The room was simple, but very comfortable, with excellent shower. Great breakfast. The hotel facade can be deceiving, as it is a small lobby, no luxury. But the location of the hotel and good accommodation is what makes the difference as Ipanema beach does not offer a lot of options.

I think they could offer a beach service, but we can get straight from the food/beverage stalls in the beach.
