The hotel was built in 1950, very high style , the best of mid century design . Many original furnishings Very clean property and generally well maintained . Excellent staff . Lovely generous buffet breakfast . Attractive pool area , when in use . Location mid way between Barra and the old town . Convenient by taxi in Uber . Spacious room , comfortable bed . Great AC . Black out curtains . Open view ( 10 th floor )

Upon arrival , I was notified the pool was being repaired ( emptied of water for several days ) my in roof safe did not work . Had to have repair twice within first 12 hours . Closet doors kept sliding open on their own . Also repaired twice within first twelve hours . Still did not get fixed . House keeping signal light did not work .

Room was spacious and clean! Bed linen and change of towels daily. Fantastic breakfast with great choice of fresh fruit, juices and pastries! We haven’t used the pool but the area looks very nice and clean.

On our second day, elevator was broken in the morning at a peak hours. Many people were going for breakfast or check out! Waiting time was 10-15 min with no guarantee to get to it. There are 12 floors and worker said that stairs are bad to take so we had to wait long. From staff talking we understood it is common situation and the 3rd elevator is actually not working for long time.

The hotel was extremely clean, but this is normal for nice hotels in Brazil. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was amazing! The rooms are a little bit dated, but the location is great if you’re interested in going to the historic center in Salvador. We were a family with two little kids and it worked out perfect for us to stay in a junior suite. We really enjoyed our time there.

The breakfast was spectacular, the staff were very attentive, the pool was very good in the morning, the drinks were very affordable, we ordered food every day from the hotel restaurant, the price was excellent and the quality was 10/10.

What I didn't like was the dirty crystals, I didn't even want to open the curtains so I could barely see out of the hotel.

The hotel is beautifully located and offered everything you need. We picked it because of the interior design and amenities. The gym is up to date, the selection of the breakfast buffet extensive and the staff incredibly friendly. If you’re not out sightseeing the pool offers a relaxing pause with drinks served right next to it. Everything is very clean and the beds comfortable. We enjoyed a great view over the city from the 11th floor.

The wifi doesn’t reach to the rooms and sometimes even doesn’t work in the lobby – a minor inconvenience. The dinner buffet could be more vegetarian friendly – breakfast is amazing though!!

We had a very nice generously spaced room on the 4th floor that has a balcony. AC worked well, though some of the light switches in the room were a bit confusing. People at the front desk were very helpful (they made reservations at restaurants for us), and the breakfast was great. Location of this place is good, a short cab away from the Pelourinho (historic area), though too far to walk. There is a park right next to the hotel that hosted Xmas / new year celebrations, so the area was a bit busy but not a problem. Gym was very nice, though a greater variety of machines would have been better. But comparatively, this gym was much nicer than most. Pool was also nice.

Shower was a bit spotty--sometimes it took forever to get warm, other times it came on immediately (I spoke to management and it appears several others complained about this, so it's a known problem). Like most hotels in South America, the room needed a little bit of maintenance--e.g. toilet paper holder that is sagging and the TP falls off--but other than those small issues, the room was nice.

The aesthetics of the hotel, the architecture and the art all over the hotel was wonderful to see and live in. The Spa is intimist and good good money for value The breakfast was delicious and various The love music performed by talented musicians in front of the bar was delightful. On the top of that, the staff was reactive and extremely pleasant.

breakfast was good, rooms were large enough, bathrooms also, there was a decent swimming pool, location is not great if you are trying to walk around, but that's more of a city responsibility

the gym was pretty small and their treadmills were not properly working

The hotel is older but well-preserved. The breakfast is tremendously varied. There were several options every day (bread, fruits, fruit juices, bacon, sausages, snacks, dairy, etc.). They also offered omelet and tapioca (salty and sweet) options to be ordered from 7:30 AM on for those who wish to have freshly prepared dishes. In addition, I needed to print a document and was promptly served by the concierge team. The valet team is courteous. They always opened the car door for me to get in and out of it.

The internet signal could have been better. It kept disconnecting all the time for no reason.

Excellent location, around 10 min taxi to all main tourist points. Very clean and silent, including swimming pool and gym. Nice staff, very good and complete breakfast service.

Perhaps check in time could be shorter, although I suspect the bureaucracy of the system makes it difficult for the staff.
