Great location in the heart of the historic city centre; super-friendly and helpful staff; very clean room (the floor was cleaned every day!); simple, but good breakfast selection; nice familiar atmosphere in the hotel.

The air conditioning in my room (no. 14) did not work well and should be renewed (it took several hours to cool down the room a litte bit, in other hotels where I stayed it just took half an hour with a powerful air conditioning); the fridge was out of order (it could not be turned on), so I could not cool down beverages; one morning, the watermelon in the breakfast room was not so fresh any more and had a sour taste, so I left it on my plate.

the front desk staff was absolutely amazing!! every person we talked to was so kind and helpful, even when we arrived late at night. We felt very taken care of and helped .

the main kitchen lady (i think) pretty cranky energy and often would cut me off as i was getting food and seemed always glaring and kind of pushy, however she was working extremely hard and sometimes the only one there, so understandable, the rest of the kitchen staff was so sweet and met us with smiles and laughter

Whilst the photos show always the biggest rooms, our room for 3 people was of a good size. The only thing I missed was a wardrobe. These are fast becoming obsolete! :). We even had a small fridge. The quirkiness of the hotel was AMAZING. Arriving, I was a bit apprehensive ( the front gate, is on first approach off putting). But I grew more and more in love with the place by the minute. The staff were SO HELPFUL. Telling us to remove jewellery/ take an Uber NOT walk to the lighthouse in Barra. ALL SOUND ADVICE x The breakfast has mini Brazilian favourites ( kibe/ cochina/ etc) A lovely place to stay. They even have a pool table

Everything! Extremely well decorated and comfortable. We could come back anytime! The staff is also amazing and the massages are a dream! The location is super safe, in the middle of the historic center. Highly recommend it!

Not very sound proof but it’s part of being in a beautiful 200+ years old building. We were there during carnival and lucky us all noise stopped at around 00:00. So we did have a wonderful stay!

The location is perfect to experience the downtown area. Hotel is clean and comfy in a nicely renovated house.

I would recommend that the hotel improve its facilities for elderly guests and individuals with physical disabilities, particularly by enhancing wheelchair access. For instance, this could include removing the large step at the entrance and installing grab bars in the showers and bathrooms.

We had a comfortable and wonderful stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The old building had lots of charm. Given its location in the heart of the old city, we expected to hear a lot of street noise but were pleasantly surprised as to how quiet the room was. The breakfast was excellent and we appreciated the help they gave us in arranging for a guide to see the city. Everything about our stay was top notch.

The location of Bahia Cafe is superb for being part of the varied experiences which Salvador's Pelourinho can offer. The Praca de Se and surrounding area is safe for tourists and the hotel staff are wonderful, looking after their guests. We loved the breakfast room, looking out over the square, and the breakfast was superb. We will definitely come back to Bahia Cafe when we are next in Salvador.

The location was great and at the heart Pelourinho, which was great as a tourist. The hotel itself has a lovely, cozy aesthetic that reflects the Afrocentric history of the location. It was very clean and quiet. The staff were helpful and lovely as well

The hotel is located directly in the city centre. It's really beautiful in old colonial style. We chose a room without a view, which was a good choice during carnival, because we didn't have any noise. The breakfast was amazing. One of the receptionists took us out for a night during carnival, and we had an amazing time.

I really liked the Hotel decor, the rooms were very comfortable and they also had a pool table and bar that made really good caipirinhas. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious. The location was right in the heart of pelourinho so it made the perfect location to visit the centre of Salvador city, really a few steps from all the main amenities and restaurants. They also offered a spa session treatment that unfortunately we didn't use because we stayed only one night but we will definitely book it on our next stay in Salvador!
