The staff were all amazing and super helpful. Senior George and his son, Felipe were amazing. Claudio and his private tour were special. Fabio and Antonio are cool as is Gabriella. But for me the star was Gabriel who went over and above the call of duty to help me even on his day off. The room had one of the best views of vibrant Salvador. The pool is great as indeed is the breakfast served. Laundry services are good also. A truly beautiful place to stay for this my second encounter of hopefully many more to come. People from everywhere choose to stay at this special, magical retreat, home from home.

Salvador can be a bit noisey at times. Fine when you are partying as well but need a good set of earplugs when trying to sleep sometimes.

This Pousada is an oasis right outside the Pelhourino, Salvador's historic city center. Claudio made excellent recommendations for restaurants and arranged to join a Candomble ceremony across town, an amazing experience. He also coordinated for me to be able to share a taxi with other travelers in town attending the same music show. Outstanding service! The Pousada also has a lovely little grassy garden with a fountain, great place to relax and view the colorful houses of the Pelhourino. Pool is wonderful as well, the entire place is very safe as it's elevated from the streets, has 24 hour security and a great view of the old town.

This is not the Pousada's responsibility but worth noting: From the Pousada, it's only 1.5 short blocks to the Pelhourino. There are some seedy characters, drug addicts, lingering about the corner. They never bothered me but it's good to know if that concerns you. Once in the Pelhourino, there's a strong military police presence and noticeably high safety. You can always get an Uber to avoid walking through the seedy scene at the corner.

This lovely inn manages to be both elegant and homey at the same time. The Centro Histórico of Salvador is a fascinating place, and it really jumps during the day. This pousada is a half block down and then a block up (as noted in other reviews, steeply so!) from all the action. It really does feel like an oasis hanging out over the town. The grounds are simple but beautiful and calming, including the covered patio where the delicious breakfast is served and the area around the pool. Staff members are friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and cozy, not prissy or fancy. The setup was familiar to me from other colonial-style inns in Latin America, with the room opening out to a common balcony/corridor running past all the rooms. The people staying at the place were a fairly laid-back group, and so there was never a problem with constant foot traffic or noise issues.

The wifi usually did not work in my room on the upper floor, so I would either rely on my mobile data (T-Mobile) or sit in a chair on the grounds to answer my email. Not a big deal.

There is a special atmosphere in this Pousada that allows you to relax and enjoy the wonders of Salvador. The staff is extremely helpful, solving any problem or challenge with great spirit, giving useful tips and advises. The location is just great. The beds are really comfortable. Thanks Gabriela and the whole hotel staff for a wonderful stay.

Well… Pelorinho is full of parties, and sometimes you feel like you’re inside one… but hey that’s what we’re here for, right? The music. Bring earplugs and you’ll be just fine ;)

The staff are fantastic and the breakfast is fresh and tasty. The location is very close to Pelhourinho and there are people drumming and dancing in the street which is lovely to watch. It does go fairly late into the night through so bring earplugs for when you want to sleep. The room had plenty of space for our luggage and hanging space, plus a safe for passports. Security is good as there is a gate with a buzzer that remains locked. The aircon worked really well.

Be warned that there is a very steep hill to walk both up and down to get to the main center so if you plan to get around on foot make sure that you are fit and able to do so, or take an Uber :)

Very near pelourinho. Nice pool, which was essential after a hot day walking. Small but comfortable rooms. Very clean and nice view from Pelourinho.

They have a bar beside the pool, but it opens late, night time. Beers at the reception were hot. There is nothing to eat at the pousada, and beers are hot. Rooms is a bit small. There was a party (rap) in pelourinho, and the sou d was extremely noise. It didn't affect us because we were out, but for those who are looking for peace and quiet, maybe this is not the right place.

The breakfast was great! The facility was great, and the location was very good. The condition of the street outside was poor with a lot of trash and smelly. That was the only thing I would have changed. The pool was who was OK. I swam in it a couple of times.

The samba reggae across the street was so loud that I had to wear earplugs. I got an ear infection during that time which I can only trace back to my experience in the pool.

AMAZING place and staff!!! Very close to the city centre (safe walking there!). Super facilities, breakfast, etc. Exceptionally friendly staff - special thanks to Claudio who gave us a super detailed idea of where to go (and where not!), what to see, and where to eat in Salvador. All fantastic recommendations - we maximised our stay thanks to him!! Very flexible with checkout too, we could leave luggage, explore the city, and even have a shower after checkout! Would definitely stay again.

That we only stayed one night!

The staff have to be top of the list, we had some complex travel ideas and wonderful knowledgeable and well connected Claudio basically sorted everything thing out for us, making our lives so easy, we just went about our business and everything was arranged, then the location is so perfect, breakfast was also great and the rooms clean and comfortable, there was then the added luxury of the pool a welcome treat after the hot streets. We felt so at home here, safe and looked after.

Absolutely nothing

This property is lovely - and close to all the key attractions in Salvador which made this a great choice. We were arriving late in the evening so I let them know what time. They sent me a voice message with all important information to know before we arrive. All the staff here are very friendly and welcoming - it was raining one morning at breakfast and a lady from the kitchen came out with an umbrella to take me back to our room so I didn't get wet! For those who are concious about safety- the hotel is in a secure complex for extra piece of mind (although we had no issues). We would definitely stay here again!
