Anna , Anna From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was smooth and enjoyable. They were friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive to every detail. Whether it was helping with an early check-in, answering questions with genuine patience, or offering great local recommendations, their service was truly top-notch. It’s rare to come across a team that makes you feel so welcome and taken care of—every interaction was pleasant and personalized. Special thanks to [Anna ] for going the extra mile! Their commitment to excellent customer service set the tone for a wonderful stay. Highly recommend this hotel, especially because of the exceptional front desk team!

Our stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The location is perfect—close enough to the heart of Banff to walk to shops, restaurants, and attractions, yet just far enough to feel like a peaceful retreat. We had the pleasure of interacting with Anthony at the front desk during our vacation in Banff, and he truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable! He was incredibly helpful in securing us a reservation for our Christmas Eve lunch and provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities. His knowledge of the area was impressive, and his friendly demeanor and great vibes added so much to our experience. Thank you, Anthony, for your exceptional service—you made our trip even more special!
The breakfast at the hotel was delicious and a great way to start the day, but we feel it could be even better with more variety between days. However, we did experience an issue with housekeeping during our stay. On one occasion, our room wasn’t cleaned properly—we had to call once to have it addressed. The recycling wasn’t taken out, and the beds weren’t fully made up. While the staff was quick to respond and resolve the issue, we hope this is an area the hotel improves in the future.

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They answered all our questions and even took the time to explain things clearly, whether it was about the rooms or any requests we had. One receptionist in particular, a Filipino guy, really went the extra mile. We asked if it was possible to have the sofa bed set up, and he made sure it was done quickly and without any fuss. I also noticed how patient the staff were, both in person and over the phone. No matter how busy it got, they stayed friendly and helpful. It really made the place feel warm and comfortable. Breakfast was a nice surprise with lots of good options. And the room was super relaxing, very clean, and modern.
The elevator was tiny. The barista at the coffee shop seemed distracted. He and the others were good at ignoring, avoiding eye contact, and appearing rushed, even though there were only two of us ordering. He forgot to make one of the drinks, even though my credit card had already been charged, and he didn’t apologize. Strangely, he was consistently friendly to others, especially to those who seemed to be their kind, which makes you feel and wonder if he has a preference—perhaps not so welcoming to people of color. A big turn-off and quite the opposite of the hotel staff, who were excellent.

Superb hotel in a superb location. The receiption staff were superb - friendly, welcoming and conversational without feeling like they were keeping you. The room was fantastic with a great view from the balcony, and was enormous. Toiletries were very good, a great shower and a very, very comfortable bed. Breakfast is complimentary for all guests, and was a superb buffet with something for everyone.
Not much to dislike! The lighting wasn't great - mostly by side lights and the entrance area to the room wasn't lit at all. There was something of a lack of plug sockets for people who travel with lots of things that need charging.

We had a premium Queen room with 2 queens bed and the configuration of the room made it feel like a 2 bedroom, which was great with our adult daughter travelling with us and the basins and mirrors were outside the shower room which was great. Had a balcony and mountain view. Great cafe on site and has got awesome coffee. Breakfast came with our stay. Banff Aspen was clean and staff more than helpful, Comfortable rooms and short 5min walk to down town. Price was fair compared to others hotels. Did get to use hot tubs extra but they were used by others even in earlier January.

Conviniently close to Banff town centre. A lot of available parking space for guests. Also, we had a wonderful view on our room.
We found a pair of socks (not ours) at the back of the tv console which maybe the housekeeping did not notice. Its not a big deal but maybe some guests might feel icky if they find something like this. The sound of the mini fridge was a bit loud as well, although maybe I just have a sensitive ear. Not to worry, our overall stay was pleasant. Breakfast was amazing. We had a wonderful walk around the town.

The hotel exceeded our expectations! The on-site cafe, the WhiteBark Cafe, was excellent and free breakfast was far better than regular hotel chain offerings. Breakfast servers were great and brought beverages to your table. A good selection of hot and cold items were available buffet style. The location was perfect to explore Banff on foot. We walked to the Cave and Basin; Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and several excellent restaurants! The staff were very helpful and competent. Our premium room had two queen beds separated by the bathroom. Bathroom toilet and tub/shower was separate from the double sinks. Different layout that worked well for us. Wish we had brought bathing suits to enjoy the spa pools and sauna in the interior courtyard - looks like a Nordic spa!

All in all, you get what you pay for. The location is ideal and you get to explore the town before the crowd comes because all the major shops and restaurants are within 10 min walk. On site parking is convenient as well. Didn’t use the pool/sauna but they looked well maintained.
The bathroom had a distinctive stink which my mom thinks is due to using dirty rags for cleaning. Maybe management could check on some of the rooms before guests check in to see if this is also an issue with other rooms

Great walkable location in downtown Banff! This hotel has clean, bright minimalist vibes, thoughtful layout in the suites (the bathroom divides the sleeping area from the living area for a greater sense of privacy/spaciousness). We took advantage of the hotubs in the central courtyard every evening and the hot breakfast every morning!
The mattress was very stiff and firm, but the bedding was high-quality. There’s also very limited breakfast options for anyone with dietary restrictions (I.e. only soy milk for dairy-free) but it was otherwise a good spread.
