We have been going to this hotel even when it had a different name. The location is perfect, the staff is always friendly and the facilities are great. Rooms are good size, perfectly equipped, and love the coffee, tea, etc. that the offered in the morning. The renovations are perfect!

The hot pools are full of kids running, splashing, and playing. I think most of us wanted to relax. Even in the sauna, they were just chatting. I truly suggest making only adults this place. My room was just next to the elevators and where the staff has all the supplies, so a little bit noisy, but I'm a light sleeper . Also, it would be a nice touch for the dog friendly rooms that they give you a little treat for your dog, just makes the experience even better. Like a welcome present

Best Hotel in Banff, and one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. After months of planning our trip to the Canadian rockies and browsing Booking.com for a hotel a nice looking Hotel in Banff we came across Hotel Canoe and Suites and were not disappointed. In comparison to most the other hotels in the area that charge the same price for dates decor and charge extra for parking etc It’s a no brainer to chose Canoe. The hotel itself beautifully renovated and modernised, the rooms spacious with incredible Mountain Views, the beds comfy and very nice bathrooms and showers. The hotel staff are so friendly from Front Desk to the cleaners everyone is so polite and attentive here, you’re truly treated like a guest and nothing is too much trouble. As we were staying here as part of my Birthday get away, they provided a free Cake in the Hotel Room and an assigned a restaurant credit to our room to celebrate. The hotel restaurant, Sudden Sally was also great, the staff working here were brilliant and the food and drinks even better, we had breakfast here 4 times over a weeks stay, 1 dinner and 1 afternoon happy hour. They make the best Pancakes and the fries on their Small Plates Menu were out of this world. Little added bonus’ were the Key to Banff Cards and Bus Passes, giving quick easy transport to downtown and discounts at local restaurants including by Sudden Sally in the Hotel itself. In hindsight I wish we’d based ourselves here at Hotel Canoe for our whole trip to the Rockies. We can’t wait to return when the facilities are up and running as we’d have loved to have made use of the Hot Pools but they were still under construction. Finally, the only downside to this place is the price due to the high demand in Banff £450+ GBP per night is crazy but this is the same across the board in Banff these days it would be great if there was less greed in the world and it became more affordable, if this happened I’d be here multiple times a year!

High Nightly rate of £450+ per night but this is the same across the board in Banff.

Hotel was very clean and modern due to recent renovations, staff were fantastic- free bus pass for our stay, rental bear spray and they were very friendly/ helpful. We also had free covered parking Fridge in the room and air conditioning good for the summer months

We weren't aware that half the Hotel is still under construction and there was a lot of noise, particularly during the day. Balconies don't have a lot of privacy, looking directly onto other rooms or ones next door aren't partitioned off. Hotel also very bright at night - would have been nice to have the option of turning our balcony light off.

Room was beautifully finished. View from Mountain View Superior room was wonderful. Sudden Sally cafe/restaurant was great for grabbing coffee and food on the go in a morning.

Would like to see the hotel finished with all facilities complete. The location may not be for some, it is a good 20 minute walk from downtown but was fine for us given the views and weather.

The hotel location is 15-20 mins walk to town. Everything is clean and brand new. Parking is very accessible. Staff are very accommodating. We brought our fur baby with us and they provided him a bed, food bowl. We had a mountain view in our room and it is gorgeous! The windows are huge that you would enjoy looking at the view. We are definitely looking forward to booking again on summer !

The patio door in the room makes a loud sound but it didn't bother us. It's more on, us being worried that we might disturb other guests from other rooms.

We really liked our room! The Mountain View was the best! Loved having the patio! The coffee bar in the room was great - sink, fridge, microwave, electric kettle and French press. You can get complimentary fresh ground coffee, tea, milk etc from the front desk. Beds were comfy and queen size (not full) so that is great when kids have to share. Lots of hotels will only do full/double beds. The restaurant downstairs is excellent. We purchased breakfast items from there every morning. The hotel decor feels new, modern, fresh. We loved the look & feel of the place. Everyone was welcoming. Nice to have a covered parking garage. The hot pools were a bonus too! Everything felt clean. Loved that they provide bus passes. We used bus #1 that stops at the hotel to get downtown for dinner every night. It runs every 15 mins and saves you from making the walk after a day of hiking. We were very pleased with our stay here.

Our room fits 4 people so it would be good to have 4 of everything…..4 towels, 4 robes, 4 chairs on patio etc. not a big deal since we just asked for more of the linens and got them. Just something I noticed.

Family loved it! Modern design, stylish, clean, with comfortable beds, beautiful pools and bathroom. Great service from staff at the front desk, maintenance, and restaurant. Delicious breakfast options at restaurant. Terrace and hot tub areas were very nice and we loved to rest there. Beautiful views of mountains from our room and from hot tub areas. Much appreciated!

Fitness centre is in adjacent hotel which is quick to reach but it didn’t have dumbbells or mats. This was not a big deal for us but just a suggestion for hotel to consider. Coffee set-up was stylish but we didn’t find it to be functional as our coffee would turn out quite diluted. Kitchenette feature was a nice touch but limited in functionality especially with a super tiny fridge. Not a concern if plan is to eat out three meals a day with family of four.

Lovely hotel. Right down the end of Banff Ave so away from the busy part of town, but local bus stops right outside (free bus pass is provided by the hotel) and the free ski shuttle to 3 mountains is just across the road. The hot pools were amazing, such a beautiful setting. Nice sauna, no cold plunge pool but standing outside in the snow is a quick way to cool off. Good cafe/restaurant on site. Spacious bedroom with plenty of daylight and balcony. Nice touches like a feature wall which is a map of the region and canoe shaped drawer handles.

The room heaters. The fan is either on full and noisy, or off. Only had options for temperature control, not fan speed.

New property, very clean. Love the pour over coffee method with freshly ground coffee beans and cream/milk. The hotel restaurant (Sudden Sally) serves delicious food that is reasonably priced. The coffee shop serves croissants and other goodies that can be taken “to go”. And perhaps what sold me as I was booking was the free parking. I was very happy to see that there was indeed plenty of it. The beds are comfortable, linens and towels are crisp. Front desk was helpful. They helped book our gondola ride and provided accurate bus schedule. The location is perfect. It appeared to be just as you enter the town center and is away from the crowds - but a mere 20 minute walk to many restaurants. The bus stop is right across the street so taking it to town is no problem at all. The bus stop is also the first one to town so the buses are empty and a seat is pretty much guaranteed. The hotel provides free bus passes. Across the street is a convenience store.

The main issue is that it’s about a 20 minute walk to the restaurants and shops of downtown which is somewhat long. They pay for the bus shuttle and going from the hotel is real easy since it’s the first stop and that seem to be on time. We had issues when we tried to come back. I don’t understand why, but I think the buses get full And then they just skip stops. So we ended up walking back a few times. The property was very nice and we liked it. They have a sort of pretentious coffee service in the room that you have to brew yourself, which I found to be a real hassle. I don’t know why they can’t put a machine in like every other hotel in the world. Otherwise all good.
