We have been going to this hotel even when it had a different name. The location is perfect, the staff is always friendly and the facilities are great. Rooms are good size, perfectly equipped, and love the coffee, tea, etc. that the offered in the morning. The renovations are perfect!

The hot pools are full of kids running, splashing, and playing. I think most of us wanted to relax. Even in the sauna, they were just chatting. I truly suggest making only adults this place. My room was just next to the elevators and where the staff has all the supplies, so a little bit noisy, but I'm a light sleeper . Also, it would be a nice touch for the dog friendly rooms that they give you a little treat for your dog, just makes the experience even better. Like a welcome present

Best Hotel in Banff, and one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. After months of planning our trip to the Canadian rockies and browsing Booking.com for a hotel a nice looking Hotel in Banff we came across Hotel Canoe and Suites and were not disappointed. In comparison to most the other hotels in the area that charge the same price for dates decor and charge extra for parking etc It’s a no brainer to chose Canoe. The hotel itself beautifully renovated and modernised, the rooms spacious with incredible Mountain Views, the beds comfy and very nice bathrooms and showers. The hotel staff are so friendly from Front Desk to the cleaners everyone is so polite and attentive here, you’re truly treated like a guest and nothing is too much trouble. As we were staying here as part of my Birthday get away, they provided a free Cake in the Hotel Room and an assigned a restaurant credit to our room to celebrate. The hotel restaurant, Sudden Sally was also great, the staff working here were brilliant and the food and drinks even better, we had breakfast here 4 times over a weeks stay, 1 dinner and 1 afternoon happy hour. They make the best Pancakes and the fries on their Small Plates Menu were out of this world. Little added bonus’ were the Key to Banff Cards and Bus Passes, giving quick easy transport to downtown and discounts at local restaurants including by Sudden Sally in the Hotel itself. In hindsight I wish we’d based ourselves here at Hotel Canoe for our whole trip to the Rockies. We can’t wait to return when the facilities are up and running as we’d have loved to have made use of the Hot Pools but they were still under construction. Finally, the only downside to this place is the price due to the high demand in Banff £450+ GBP per night is crazy but this is the same across the board in Banff these days it would be great if there was less greed in the world and it became more affordable, if this happened I’d be here multiple times a year!

High Nightly rate of £450+ per night but this is the same across the board in Banff.

Hotel was very clean and modern due to recent renovations, staff were fantastic- free bus pass for our stay, rental bear spray and they were very friendly/ helpful. We also had free covered parking Fridge in the room and air conditioning good for the summer months

We weren't aware that half the Hotel is still under construction and there was a lot of noise, particularly during the day. Balconies don't have a lot of privacy, looking directly onto other rooms or ones next door aren't partitioned off. Hotel also very bright at night - would have been nice to have the option of turning our balcony light off.

Room was beautifully finished. View from Mountain View Superior room was wonderful. Sudden Sally cafe/restaurant was great for grabbing coffee and food on the go in a morning.

Would like to see the hotel finished with all facilities complete. The location may not be for some, it is a good 20 minute walk from downtown but was fine for us given the views and weather.

The hotel location is 15-20 mins walk to town. Everything is clean and brand new. Parking is very accessible. Staff are very accommodating. We brought our fur baby with us and they provided him a bed, food bowl. We had a mountain view in our room and it is gorgeous! The windows are huge that you would enjoy looking at the view. We are definitely looking forward to booking again on summer !

The patio door in the room makes a loud sound but it didn't bother us. It's more on, us being worried that we might disturb other guests from other rooms.

Lovely hotel. Right down the end of Banff Ave so away from the busy part of town, but local bus stops right outside (free bus pass is provided by the hotel) and the free ski shuttle to 3 mountains is just across the road. The hot pools were amazing, such a beautiful setting. Nice sauna, no cold plunge pool but standing outside in the snow is a quick way to cool off. Good cafe/restaurant on site. Spacious bedroom with plenty of daylight and balcony. Nice touches like a feature wall which is a map of the region and canoe shaped drawer handles.

The room heaters. The fan is either on full and noisy, or off. Only had options for temperature control, not fan speed.

The overall ambiance is very nice - modern, fully renovated and comfortable. The rooms are elegant and modern as well with high quality bedding and towels. We enjoyed the kitchenette with all the coffee and tea equipment. The hotel provides premium tea, coffee and hot chocolate service. The fireplace makes the room even cozier. More than anything, the pools and dry hot sauna are top notch. This hotel has one of the biggest outdoor hot pools. You can wear your cool robe to the pool and enjoy the towel service. The lobby leads to one of the best coffee shops and a well-known restaurant. To get around, we were given free bus passes. Everyone was super polite. If you travel with a dog - this is your place! You get a bed, bowls and other gifts.

- Beautiful spacious room and bathroom - Locally made tea and freshly ground coffee provided daily to your room (first given at check in) - Welcoming, friendly reception staff who were helpful. In particular a dark haired lady (sorry didn't catch her name) who was always very polite, smiley and helpful. We were staying from 18th - 23rd Sept 2024 - Very clean throughout - Parking space in car park - Fab restaurant adjoining hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving delicious, fresh food - Perfect location, we walked for 15 mins to reach Banff town centre. However there is a bus stop outside the hotel, across the road for those less mobile - There is a direct bus to Lake Lake Louise and Lake Moraine, there is another direct bus to the Banff gondola and a direct bus to Lake Minnewanka. The hotel gives you a 2 day free bus pass

- The hot pools should have been open in Summer 2024, unfortunately in September 2024 they still weren't open, this was really disappointing as we were looking forward to this. - No laundry facilities open at the hotel either, you had to notify reception who would let another hotel know you needed to use laundry facilities - The staff in the adjoining restaurant and bar seemed stressed/grumpy on occasions.

Having just returned from 7 nights at the Hotel Canoe, I can honestly say the hotel is immaculate. From check in to check out, the staff couldn’t have been more attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious (and what a view!) with all the modern amenities you could ask for. The fresh coffee and tea each morning in the room from Sudden Sally was a great touch, and delicious! The hot pools were lovely. Although the hotel is a little further out than some properties, it was just a 15 minute stroll into town, or the free Roam bus (tickets given upon check in) was just opposite the hotel, outside A&W / Co-Op which took just a couple of minutes to get downtown. I would highly recommend to anyone considering staying, you won’t be disappointed.

My only negative comment was the first night we arrived (Friday), we went to check out the hot pools and there were lots of people drinking, with empty beer cans all over the place. I did only witness this once but it may put people off from using them of an evening, which it did us. We used them most afternoons and had no issues at all - and even saw a family of elk crossing the road from the pools!

Lovely hotel with spacious rooms. Restaurant is relatively expensive. Accessible to most of Banff easily especially with public busses. Banff's food is a bit mediocre for a European palate. Hot tubs are lovely and fireplace there is atmospheric however not ideal to bring your own drinks down. Sauna is great but if it's busy the door stays open too often and stays too cool.

Boot room is quite far away. Predominantly set up for those using cars. No seats near boot room either. Suspect it's best to take boots in a bag with you to the hill and then put boots on there.
