Bed was very comfy. We slept really well. We walked into town looking for restaurants and there was a wide selection of them (unfortunately for us, they were mostly all closed due to it being Sunday). We found a pub and had a good meal. We lucked out somehow and received an executive suite. The room was clean and comfortable. We did not try the breakfast as we had to be at the ferry really early.

The executive suite was on two floors with the bedroom being upstairs and the bathroom downstairs. I had to make a couple trips downstairs during the night. Also, the air-conditioner was on the bottom floor and did not rise to the bedroom. Thankfully, the hotel provided a fan, which we used to circulate the air. I could see how this would not work if the weather were warmer than the night we stayed.

1. Check-in reception was welcoming, smooth procedures, update on breakfast hours was +++, key return +++ 2. Loft bedroom was bonus; separating living space with sleeping space +++; living space was welcome. 3. Mini fridge w/microwave was just 'ok'... electrical outlets in micro wave & mini fridge took away from full utility access... had to unplug desk light to operate microwave/coffee machine 4. Suggest kitchenette (mini sink & faucets, 1 or 2 burner hot plate, apt sized fridge w/ frzr, bistro table & 2 chairs, 2 of each -side plates/bowls/mugs, utensils) 5. Space heater/AC was 'dope'! Efficient, tho' noisey; warmed up/cooled down quickly 6. Bathroom was narrow, as evidenced by the door almost striking the bathroom counter when fully opened... also meant one had to move out of the way of the door to open/close... Odd 7. Continental breakkie was more than most conti-breakkies in other motels... well done Port Augusta 8. Festive parking... wherever & whenever

Good value especially as they include breakfast. Large room with TV and desk. Lots of parking. Very friendly and helpful staff and nice ambience in the breakfast room —even though it’s cosy, there is also seating outside.

We were in the western block by the pool and the first couple of nights -midweek- were quite noisy — other guests and traffic. Also the window faces Comox Avenue so we had to keep the curtains drawn for privacy - maybe blinds would be better here. It would have been worth paying a bit more for a room on the other side if I’d known.

We really liked the freshly renovated bathrooms and the balcony. The room was clean, the area quiet and the location was great. It's also helpful there's a dog park across the street for travelers with furry friends. Just a short drive to downtown Courtenay or Comox, so we checked out Ace Brewing for the pinball, award-winning brews, and atmosphere, and were so happy we did!

We don't have any complaints. Yes, the building is older, but it's well-maintained. We were quite satisfied with everything. The Comox Valley is changing with the population growth, so we were a little hesitant to park our vehicle by our room entrance because it backs onto a street (the whole area is quiet and residential though). It was no problem parking in the large front area, under our balcony, surrounded by other rooms and cars.

Simple but adequate breakfast, breakfast room was clean and tidy, enough seating. Comfortable bed, new bathroom, spacious room, good A/C, everything very clean. Fridge and coffee maker in room. Lots of parking.

Would have preferred a kettle rather than coffee maker. The bathroom and door to hallway were down 2 stairs from the rest of the room . .. a bit concerning if one gets up in the night to use the bathroom.

I was eased to see such nice rooms, new floors and bathroom sink and tub and fixtures . Mattress was great. Nice pillows. I’d stay again. Breakfast was ok, basic but could have used a bit more variation but ok. Even a bowl of apples would add variation. I enjoyed the eggs and yogurt.

Breakfast could have had even a bit more variation like granola to go with the yogurt. And a bowl of apples not just bananas.

It was a fine place, everything you could want and need for a one or two night stay. Nothing special, but fine. Breakfast was minimal but that was play for me, I don't need much. I'd stay here again.

I wouldn't want to stay here much longer than one or 2 nights, it really is more of an in-between place. Not very cosy or anything, but that was fine for my travel at the time. Just very practical.

This is Comox's best kept secret. We love this place as it's excellent value for money. Very clean, freshly decorated rooms, refurbished bathrooms, friendly staff and a great breakfast to get you started the next day. Never judge a book by its cover - this place is excellent for the money. The owners are clearly very proud of this amazing place. We will return regularly!

Outdoor areas look slightly tired but it's only the outside. Inside is lovely!

Buffet breakfast included. Largeish room. Air con. Balcony with table and chairs. Fridge with freezer. Staff quite friendly. Good location. Desk and separate table in the room. Three restaurants close by, including the German restaurant Avenue Bistro.

Some traffic noise due to location, though air con largely masked it. Room may not be serviced unless you request it. Breakfast room a bit small.

The staff were really friendly, the room was very clean and had obviously been recently renovated. We asked for a quiet room and got one. The sushi restaurant next door was very good, large portions, reasonable prices.

The heater was a little small for the size of the room and heat didn’t reach the bathroom very well, and the hair dryer didn’t work. We were only there the one night and reported it, so hopefully they fixed it.
