The staff was so professional and helpful. "Son" is his name and he should be giving hospitality training to those interested in the field. Another staff member gave my partner five dollars out of his own pocket for the vending machine as we had no change and it was not taking his card. (My partner repayed the person). Lovely games area, the pool water was just right and all of the staff was friendly and helpful. They also have an area - a cabana area with a fire spot, chairs and lounge where we can sit back and enjoy. We had the opportunity to meet other travellers.

We were really pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The renovations are beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious, the outdoor pool was open early (7:00am) and closed late (10:00pm) and the water was so warm. The beds are one of the most comfiest beds I've ever slept in at a hotel. The shower head and water pressure was excellent. We had a quick overnight stay so didn't get a chance to enjoy the other amenities like the seating/picnic area around back or the BBQ's. I love the location of the hotel as well which is just off the bypass and close to all the things you need like gas stations, grocery store, liquor store, Tim Horton's, restaurants and other kinds of shopping. We'll definitely stay here again.

Nothing. We loved it. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Location, for me, was great because it was right beside my transportation drop off. The TV was huge, it was like being in a movie theatre.

A few things: - streaming to watch TV was laggy. I had to restart movies I was watching a few times and even then it still buffered a bit - tap/water running noise (pipes) from other suites was VERY loud, almost jarring - front door had many gaps in the door/door jam seams making the room not as quiet as it could have been from outside noise - price was a bit steep for a one night stay in Courtenay BUT, it was still the best deal I found so the market dictates it I suppose.

The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and concerned with meeting our needs during our stay. The room was immaculately clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The recent updates to the room were a nice improvement. We loved the rain shower head and the water pressure/temperature were great! Having AC in the room on a hot evening was also fantastic! It was walking distance to shops and restaurants, which was super convenient! Thanks for a great stay! We slept really well!

Our only complaint was how loud it was when people walked by our room talking, laughing or arguing; fortunately, that didn't happen late at night, so it didn't disturb our sleep.

Facilities have been recently updated and upgraded. Very clean and comfortable room. Huge T.V. in room with many channels too choose from. Really great light up waterfall shower head... very unique and fun! Nice reception area with coffee and water in lobby, games and books in adjoining room. There is an outside community patio, very comfortable and inviting. Property is nice and an excellent value. The staff at the hotel were exceptional! Extremely professional and polite. Showed us around the property and offered any help or services, directions, special needs and such. What impressed us the most was: we received a phone call in our room from the manager about an hour after we checked. He just wanted to make sure the accommodations were comfortable and to our liking. He offered that we could call the front desk 24/7 with any questions, concerns or requests. It has been a long time since hotel staff have made us feel so welcomed and like we were "friends" from the moment we walked in. We will definitely stay at this wonderful hotel again.

Unhappy with NOT ONE THING. Just that our trip didn't allow us to stay longer :) We will return.

- XL king sized bed was the focus point as soon as we entered our room. - Lots of charging ports easily accessible surrounding the bed and tv for people who owns small gadgets that needs to be charged daily. - oversized shower head with great water pressure and unlimited hot water.

- Smallest bathroom with a door that pushes inwards. Perhaps the pipes and/or electrical wires were between the drywalls. It might be better to put a sliding door instead of a regular door?! The person needs to turn side way while keeping balanced in order to get in/out of the bathroom. The feet drying towel would curled and jammed up with the bath tub once the door is opened and that defeat its purpose. (BTW, both me and my wife are short and slim).

The hotel was spotless and tidy with a great, comfortable bed. Our room was well organized. The water pressure in the shower was top tier. The standout was the service. Our receptionist Valary was the best, she genuinely cared and made us feel welcome, even calling later to check if we needed anything. Loved that the hotel is dog friendly, just make sure you give them some notice first. They even had free EV charging on site. We didn't use the pool but it looked very clean.

The hotel was located in a busy intersection, not scenic, but worked great for where we were going.

The amenities (outdoor fire pit, seasonal-use pool, lobby lounge, shuffle board, complimentary coffee/tea) were a pleasant surprise. Staff were attentive and friendly, taking the time to show us the above features and even stepping out into the cold to direct us to our room. The king bed was very comfortable and there were chocolates and a welcome card from the general manager. The little details did not go unnoticed! We picked the Coast Courtenay Hotel for its proximity to the ski bus stop and we wish we could’ve stayed a second night!

Nothing - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The “shared facilities” were great in the lobby and outside, the coffee machine was easy to use and the specialty fresh brewed coffee perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the outside covered patio. All areas inside and out were meticulously clean and in excellent condition. The staff were eager to help when needed. We had trouble signing into Netflix and the front desk staff clerk came up immediately to successfully reconnect so we could watch our show. The room itself was generous, bed clean and comfortable and shower wonderful. Lots of parking and the area is quiet at night, safe to walk in and close to numerous restaurants and shops. An excellent experience we look forward to repeating.

Not one thing

The renovations have made it a completely different hotel! The rainfall shower is amazing and the new beds are super comfy. There's an outdoor BBQ area now and an outdoor fire place too! They had treats for our dogs. The lounge has big TVs, shuffleboard, board games, free tee/coffee, and a water bottle refilling station.

No continental breakfast. Soundproofing is still bad. Price is a bit steep considering it's Courtenay but they have to pay for the renovations some how.
