We have been here before and like the facilities. We like and use the Galloping Goose trail . The lady at the front desk was awesome and so friendly & helpful. The pool was fun.

There could have provided a couple of extra blankets for cooler nights. The railings in the bathroom were almost detached. Being so close to the Galloping Goose trail, it would have been wise to have bike storage.

The hotel was well cleaned, artistic decorations, practical layout, just right amount of kitchen equipments and smiley stafff and house keeping staff. Close to the shopping mall was the bonus.

The parking was bit tight. In the morning, the sound of washing dishes woke me up.

Very roomy (for 2 people) 1 bedroom suite. Clean and friendly, helpful staff. A comfortable layout. Great location for our needs. A reasonable price for the room size with a kitchenette in Victoria. We did not use the pool so cannot comment on it

We were on the 4th floor facing the front parking lot. The window was single pain glass and the traffic noise (lots of sirens) was loud even with the window closed. Last time we stayed in a more renovated room overlooking the pool that did not have this issue and had a newer bed and appliances, too. The king bed in this area was a bit hard for our taste. During our 4 night stay we, occasionally, saw little groupings of 3 or 4 extremely tiny ants in different areas. Mostly the tub surround. Not enough to put us off. (The hotel was going to address this issue. Our last stay in the renovated room last year did not have any)

After a week of camping, this hotel was exactly the cozy getaway we needed! The room was spotless, the beds were super comfy, and having a mini kitchen made things so much easier for our family. The kids absolutely loved the heated pool — especially when it drizzled a little one afternoon. The AC kept our rooms nice and cool, which was a big plus. We also really appreciated the convenience of The Jade Fountain Restaurant right next door — dinner was just a few steps away! Highly recommend this place for families traveling with kids. The location is perfect, and everything just felt easy and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!!

The room was modern and clean, it had a full kitchen, the beds were comfortable, the TV was a good size, and laundry facilities were available. There was a vending machine for drinks, snacks, and laundry detergent. The staff was lovely and helpful. We stayed 3 nights.

Parking was mostly at the back of the large building, and there is no back entrance. You have to climb about 20 stairs and then walk around the building.. There is a liquor store and an authentic Chinese restaurant in the building. These make the building busy and the front door parking hard to come by.

The property has a good pool from 2.5ft to 8.5ft at the deepest, so good areas for all family sizes. They have the basic ice machines to use that all hotels have. They have a Chinese restaurant on the bottom floor that is okay, but I recommend you go elsewhere. Beds were comfortables and rooms were clean. The building is a little out-dated but it is renovated.

I wish the property would have an area for a complementary breakfast. The lounge area is small, so there is no room for it. We ended up going to Dennys about a mile away for breakfast. I also didn’t like the the bathtub only had one thin shower curtain, I would prefer a walk-in shower.

Room was comfortable, had everything I needed. What I really appreciated about it was that it was pretty sound proof once I was in my room compared to other motels I've stayed in with wide gaps under doors. All front desk staff were really friendly and accommodating. I liked that the pool was warm and I had a nice swim even with others, including kids in the pool. I'm usually really irritated with kids not attended properly, but all was good. Very well located, parking was good and the restaurant attached was also good and really friendly staff.

There was nothing that I didn't like. I had no complaints.

For the price point, everything about this stay was great. We asked for a quiet room and got one that exceeded that - overlooking a currently closed pool in a courtyard, and on a hallway through two doors with only 2 rooms on it. The reception staff were professional and helpful, and the room was really comfortable. Renovated with lots of lighting and plugs. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchenette was really well supplied, which is often not the case. Two burners, all the utensils and dishes and cookware we needed, and a full sized fridge. The room was fairly small but drawers on either side of the bed and a large closet so lots of places to put things away. We only stayed one night, but having experienced it, we would definitely book here for a longer stay as well.

The staff, the room and the facilities. Especially the pool which was well kept and warm. When we needed something the staff responded immediately. Also, the rooms are equipped like a cottage so that you can do your own thing without having to spend a lot of time going out for meals.

It not a dislike, but rather a recommendation that when the bathrooms (ours was limited in space, but efficient) are to be remodeled, they should eliminate bathtubs which are dangerous, especially for seniors. Showers are much more efficient and they save water.

As I have stayed here before on several occasions, I knew about the Red Lion's convenient location - as a jump off point for bus transport throughout the city and beyond. Only a few minutes' walk to the Uptown Mall, and 10 minutes by bus to downtown Victoria. The rooms are clean and staff is helpful and business-like. My room - with its kitchenette, was extraordinary value when compared to most Canadian hotels. (Of course, it is low season.) Attached Chinese restaurant was convenient, though pricey.

Rooms have different layouts and some work better than others in terms of the layout for a working, or dining table. Walls are a bit thin, perhaps.
