Michael and Thomas were excellent hosts. Communication was easy and prompt. They happily provided a wine chiller when we brought a bottle of wine from our car. Wine and rocks glasses, cards and books were available in the reading nook upstairs near the rooms. Our queen bedroom and private bath were comfortable and included a hair dryer, books, two chairs, luggage racks, a flat screen tv, and window air conditioner. A delightful breakfast served family style at their beautiful dining room table included fresh berries, yogurt, cereal, juices, homemade jams, toast, smoked salmon and your selection of hot foods such as pancakes, eggs, and meats. Mahone Bay is a cute town with a few shops and a local pub, and it's located less than 10 miles from Lunenberg, where more restaurants, shops and tourist attractions are available. We took the carriage ride, which was a lot of fun. Note that all shops close at 5 pm.

The breakfast was excellent - a selection of fresh fruit and juices; coffee homemade banana bread and a hot breakfast to order - eggs as we liked; meat (bacon or sausage) or pancakes. The table and dining room were lovely and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests. Parking was convenient and the host offered tips for our afternoon travels - it was very helpful. The location was super convenient for exploring the town of Mahone Bay. The air conditioner was a window mount and cooled off the room very quickly; the windows opened for fresh air which we used the following day when it was less warm/humid.

Great location. Mahone Bay is the perfect location for day trips in the area. The property itself is a lovely old house with a garden and sitting area outdoors in the back and two sitting rooms indoors- one each on the first and second floor.

The room and en-suite bathroom were so cute and very clean. The hosts were wonderful and accommodating and had a really nice breakfast for us. They gave us some great recommendations to see hidden gems away from the super tourist packed spots. The location is right by the water and it's in such a cute town. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely old home run solely by Thomas with great hospitality. Room was nice with en-suite bath. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order by Thomas himself. Lovely little town not far from Lunenburg but in some ways just as much charm.

Right on Main Street so it was a little noisy at times. Step in bathroom almost caused a fall so take heed when stepping down - remember it’s there !

We had a great stay here in an amazing house full of character. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was easily the best we have had in nova scotia. The host Michael is friendly providing lots of toursist information .would highly recommend . Great location.

A gorgeous home inside and out, with a welcoming host. A beautifully appointed bedroom with original tasteful decoration. A delicious home made breakfast to start the day. Centrally located just across from the water, but quiet. Mahone Bay has a large choice of restaurants and shops, including the famous Amos Pewter, all a short walk from Fairmont House.

Fairmont House’s breakfast table was set beautifully and there were plenty of food options to enjoy. They served gluten free toast on request and were very careful about my dietary needs. Our room had a perfect view of the harbour. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

I liked the decor...antiques. The serve was friendly and authentic. The location was ideal. They are pet friendly, which makes it ideal because we travel with a 12 year old chihuahua.

There was nothing that I did nor like.

We loved the location - in a beautiful and charming little town on the bay. But Thomas (he did all the cooking) went far and above any expectation we've ever had for a "full breakfast"!! The dining room was elegant, the furnishings were eye-popping....but the spread on the table had everything anyone could ever want for a very full breakfast. Thomas asked us if we'd like eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon, etc. in addition to what was already on the table. So, unbelieving, we asked for eggs and pancakes. We got to taste REAL Canadian 100% pure maple syrup - it was thick, dark, and had more flavor than any real maple syrup we've ever had in the USA.
