for the price, my expectations were a bit higher. some of the design elements could have been thought out better: bathroom sink soap dispenser would leak on floor, no toaster in kitchenette, shower curtain made it challenging to not get water on floor since there was no real 'lip' to the shower stall, sitting on outside deck chairs was nice, but needed to pile up the outside cushions in order to see the view over the railing, no separate light for bathroom mirror other than main light located outside bathroom which turned on both the whole room light and the mirror light, when often only the mirror light would have been sufficient. Small items perhaps, but when added up, didn't quite match what I would have expected for what we paid.

First, a very warm and professional welcome. Next, the absolute cleanliness of the place. Everything is so clean and spotless. Also, the attention of the owner to details. For instance, something at the Rum Runners that I have never seen in any other hotel, and for the record, I spent my whole life travelling and staying in first class hotels for my business, but I had never seen a seal to the envelope containing an extra pillow and blanket in the closet. Such a seal guarantees that, should you need to use that extra blanket, it has been cleaned and not used by a previous guest. When you see that level of details, it tells how much the owner has attention to details for making your stay a rich and enjoyable client experience. Our many thanks to the charming lady at the front desk, to the Rum Runners owner who came to welcome us and always inquiring for making sure all was fine, and to the technical person who takes care of everything else e.g. Wi-Fi and other technical aspects. We will return to the Rum Runners for sure.

Had the room with the Harbour view and it was outstanding. The staff wasn't necessarily always available immediately after hours, but the wait after calling them from the front desk was minimal. The location pretty much right on the waterfront can't be beat.

The balcony that has been converted to a solarium cannot be ventilated easily on warm days with full sun, and so gets way too hot (easily over 30 C) The circuit breaker also tripped each morning when the coffee pot was turned on because it was on the same circuit as the modular air conditioner in the room. (which was needed because of the relatively warm weather, especially by Nova Scotia standards)

Very convenient location within walking distance of anything you might want to do in Lunenburg town. Room had a fridge and small table and chairs which was convenient. There was communal access to a pleasant deck overlooking the harbour, which was nice to sit in and watch the busy activities below. Very pleasant, friendly staff. Super King sized bed that was very comfortable.

The bath didn't drain properly when having a shower (over the bath) but this was fixed when we mentioned it. The toilet cistern was noisy when it was refilling.

The location is central to Lunenburg area. it's very close to restaurants, and boutique arts and crafts stores. The bed was comfortable and room's clean. Ash at reception was so helpful to carry my two bags upstairs. And the two cleaners were also helpful to carry the bags downstairs upon checkout.

Just a little annoyance to the noisy portable A/C unit. But tolerable that i can sleep okay. I booked two separate rooms for my friend and me. My friend’s room was a bit noisy during peak hour check-out because it’s right next to the reception and main entry area.

Lunenburg is a fun town and area on the "South Shore" but really is the east Atlantic shore. The Inn is really well located in Lunenburg and we walked everywhere. The Innkeeper is so nice and very helpful. The facilities look like they are being upgraded, which is really needed. We had a room with an enclosed balcony which was really nice, especially in June when storms are still moving through. The refrigerator (with freezer compartment) and hot water pot was really nice. We would definitely stay here again.

The Inn is a little worn and in need of updating.

The hotel is right by the water with a beautiful view! It’s clean, quiet and the rooms are very spacious. The staff is super friendly. Great access to all restaurants and shops. Comfortable beds with warm blankets.

The escalator didn’t work, which makes it impossible for seniors to carry luggage upstairs on a very steep and narrow flight of stairs. The staff was very helpful, but in a hotel with that price range the escalator should work!

We were greeted by our host,Tim, who immediately made us feel welcomed and valued. It was clear that he wanted our stay to be memorable and he went out of his way to make that happen. The location of the property couldn’t have been better. I parked our car at the front door of the Inn and didn’t move it until we packed it up to leave. Everything (food, shopping and waterfront attractions) was at our doorstep

We only wished we could have stayed longer. There was nothing about the Inn we didn’t like.

Room was very large, same for the bathroom. Partial view of the harbor, nice deck for viewing (if it wasn't raining we would of sat out there). Hosts are very nice and accommodating. We had no issues at all and loved the stay there for 2 nights. Definitely worth staying there again and recommending my clients as I am a travel agent.

Only heard a little bit of the door upstairs and walking in the hallway when they checked in. But didn't bother us the rest of the time. Really no issues, we loved this place!

Having the Rum Runner situated pretty much in the middle of town makes the availability of all amenities perfect. The view of the harbor and boats from our veranda was amazing. Our room was awesome and very comfortable. We will be back in the near future!

Unfortunately, Lunenburg is a small historic with very little parking for larger vehicles. Street parking on narrow and sometimes steep lane ways is the norm here. Other than that, you're going to love this place.
