The property sits on immaculate grounds with a view of the Maitland River. Each room has its own small private area with a bistro set to sit and enjoy your morning coffee or your drink to watch the sunset. The morning breakfast provided was fabulous! The host covered all food groups with good variety, orange juice, teas and your choice of coffee, cappuccino, lattes etc…I enjoy accommodations where the website photos are true to what you receive upon arrival.

The two bedroom apartment which we originally booked for our party of 3 is only accessible via outside steep stairs. This was not suitable for 2 senior travel companions that I was travelling with. To the best of my knowledge, this information was not listed on the property website or perhaps I didn’t read it close enough. Other than that the property was outstanding.

The run was spacious and very clean. Our back doors opened up to nature and a sparkling River. Elena was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has the best breakfast buffet I have seen for a long time. Lots of coffee and fruit and vegetables.

The only criticism I could have was that the housekeeping staff didn't replace our coffee pods or creamers/sugar for our second morning. Small stuff compared to the rest of the experience.

The suite and facility was beautiful and well maintained. The little touches, flowers in the room, makeup towels, updated decor were lovely. The breakfast was well served and very boutique style.

Te only thing I would say could be improved was the balcony of the suite. The wood was a little worn and needed to be stained and the couch cushions a little dirty but this did not impact our stay. I actually remarked that the pictures on the internet do not do this property justice!! Take some additional pictures to showcase this property!!

Room was very nice and quiet overnight. Nice little patio looking out to the river Maitland. Continental breakfast was very good, and a nice little dining room.

Traffic noise over the bridge on the nearby highway; lot's of truck traffic to/from the salt mine! Would have been perfect if hotel was within walking distance to the town. Management might think about adding a "happy hour" in the late afternoon/early evening, as there is no evening meal served at the hotel.

The space was clean and tidy. We were thrilled to use the kitchen and have a full size fridge, it made our stay much easier. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful- lots of options and lots of food. Front desk staff was helpful and courteous. We had a short but lovely stay.

The stairs to the suite were safe but unexpected. We were okay getting up and down, but probably not the best for those with mobility challenges or carrying heavy bags up or down. The pull out couch was decent for one night, but not the same comfort level as the beds; because of this I'd say the room is 2 + 1 beds, not 3.

It is in a beautiful area.

The rooms facing the water are beautiful but the other side all of the rooms are ground floor with patio doors to the parking lot. We did not like that the hotel called us at 7 wondering where we were. Their website states they are open until 9 but once we arrived at 7 the front desk staff left the building.

The room was very comfortable. We had a lovely little terrace with a view of the river, and it was a bonus to have a bottle of wine in the fridge to enjoy while we sat looking at the view. I particularly appreciated having fresh flowers in the room. An excellent touch.

Can't think of anything. Cover on the bed was thin but the room was warm. Others may have preferred a thicker duvet, but I wasn't cold and slept well.

Samuels Boutique Hotel was lovely. Beautiful setting overlooking the Maitland River and with relaxing individual patios outside of rooms facing the River. Delicious breakfast with a very large assortment of foods. Very easy to find right on the edge of town with a wonderful staff. Highly recommend!

Excellent taste in furnishings and design. Welcome and reception exceptional along with the continental breakfast. In fact, I had messaged the hotel before arriving asking if there would be vegan options…they said yes but I was so so pleased that the selections far surpassed what I was expecting. Also, I recommend getting a room on the river-view side as it really added to the charm and hotel experience. We will definitely spread the word about this gem of a place to stay in a lovely little town in Ontario!

Only minus was the traffic on the bridge near by but it certainly wasn’t a deal breaker.

The staff were amazing- kind, professional and helpful. The property is quite nice and the rooms simple and extremely clean. The included breakfast was delicious with hard boiled eggs, amazing bread, ham, baked goods, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc and absolutely everything was available and easy. I brought my dog with me and they had a bowl and towels in the room for her making us both feel comfortable and welcome. It was also within a five minute drive of the downtown and the beach .All in all, I enjoyed my stay very much.

The air conditioner was a little noisy when it kicked in but I am also a light sleeper so it's probably fine for most people.
