Room, beds, temperature of room, breakfast

Some staff members were not the best - I checked in around 9am and paid the security deposit ahead of time, since the room was not ready yet. Staff told me I can pick up the key later. The morning staff were great and helpful. When I came back at 11pm the same day for my key, there was a different staff member who was very confused and could not find my paperwork, or evidence of me checking in. She was also not friendly and acted as if I was intruding. Luckily, I kept my receipt for paying my deposit and she was able to find the paperwork and room key after some time. Please ensure better communication between your staff members and ensure staff are friendly and welcoming to guests. Thank you!

Check-in was smooth and friendly (as was every interaction with different front-desk staff), the room was just right, comfortable beds, good linens, housekeeping is excellent. In terms of accessibility, the hallways are dimly lit, which might be an issue for anyone with poor vision, but I appreciated the calm vibe. There are two levels, but no elevator, so if stairs pose difficulty make sure to request a ground-floor room. Our room had a full bath, but be warned, the tub floor is sloped and quite glossy, so if you're at risk for slipping maybe pack a rubber mat or grab one from a pharmacy or dollar store nearby (we didn't ask if they had any available at the hotel). Breakfast was simple but quite good; conveyor-toast bar with bread and bagels, coffee and various juices on tap, croissants, chocolatines, muffins, hard-boiled eggs, all the standard jams, peanut butter, cream cheese, mayonnaise (???)... Two microwaves are available if you'd like to warm up your eggs or pop your butter in for 5 seconds while your toast is toasting. We were in town for family business and didn't make use of the spa.

Not a very big negative, but the hotel parking itself is pretty limited. Not a huge deal because guests have access to the lot next door, which is steps away, but each night upon returning we would drive in to the hotel lot and circle around to check for any vacant spots before having to circle around to the other lot (pro tip, the lots are connected, just keep left upon entering the hotel driveway, a bit easier than popping out into the road and back). Towels are pretty scratchy, but that's not a big negative either, to me anyway.

The location by the little river was lovely. Easy access to highway. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The first room we were given on the main floor directly overlooked the parking lot, where people were walking by. Since we would have had to keep our window blind closed, we asked immediately for a different room and were given one on the 2nd floor, still directly above the parking lot but at least we could leave the blind open! There was a lovely view of the river from the room and from the outdoor heated pool, which we used once.

From the exterior photo, it looks like a beautiful classic stone building, but behind this is the hotel which has none of that character. The outdoor pool was very dirty and definitely needed a vacuum. We used it anyway because we had been sitting in our car for many hours! The AC unit is extremely noisy so we did not use it and opened the window for fresh air!!!! The halls are very dimly lit, probably for ambiance, but they are very dark, with no natural light. The site mentioned that the spas are across the road, but it did not say that it was a four lane busy street, with no crosswalks or stoplight.

The overall room was great, the tub in the bedroom was spacious and really fun to play in and relax in. The bed was firm but not too hard it was very enjoyable. The floor in the hallway to the room and the room itself was extremely clean. The bathroom was comfortable, no issues with the shower, sink or toilet. The staff was very friendly and helpful if questions were asked. The restaurants nearby were great and the food was filling.

The pillows were too soft when sleeping it would hurt my neck.

Perfectly situated for our purposes. Spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable.

There were no bedside lamps making it impossible to read when one’s companion needs to sleep. Tea as well as coffee would have been appreciated. It would have been helpful to have been warned about the roadworks as we had trouble finding the hotel in the chaos! The breakfast was very basic!

How quiet it was and bed was extremely comfortable.

How bright the temperature number was un the A/C unit. It lit the entire room when the lights were turned off. After that, it was the large blue numbers on the alarm clock that lit the room blue so we disconnected it. Then, it was perfect to sleep except that the A/C was not on. We found the hallways too dark... could have a fresher feel to it since you're part of a spa. Going south on 117, I missed the entrance twice.

It was a nice room and has a nice continental breakfast. The pool and outdoor area is very nice.

The construction right in front of the hotel. We were not notified of it therefore, it took us some time to find the hotel and, with traffic, it made it difficult to get to the location. Significant construction should be communicated.

Breakfast was a very nice surprise. Room was spacious and comfortable.

There isn't elevator for the 2nd floor and we had to carry luggage + kid in a couple of trips. Parking was very busy and we had to park in a different parking lot. There was noise in the evening from the corridor.

The hotel room is really nice. There is a lot of room and places to sit. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. It is also across the street from le finlandais spa, highly recommended. This spa is part of the hotel. Love it ❤️
