Big hotel close to the Forbidden City and Tienanmen Square. We had a spacious and clean room, and was comfortable too. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and nice, they helped us in checking us in earlier, getting taxis and giving us directions about what was in the proximities. The breakfast is good, there is of course more Chinese options, but you can find more or less everything you need. We did not have dinner in the hotel restaurant. There is a pool as well but we did not use it.

Apart from the staff at the reception, is difficult to find someone speaking English (e.g. at the restaurant). However, thanks to some instant-translator apps, there were no problems and everyone was really helpful

Great hotel, spacious, clean, very nice staff. Perfect location, literally 2 min from the tube. The best breakfast ever, so much to choose from, we did not have to eat till dinner.

We wanted to relax in the jacuzzi after a long day of walking, the water was nice but the surface was slimy and parts were falling apart. There were also kids inside with running noses, even though the note was saying they were not allowed in. There was a man, father of those kids, fainting on the site fully dressed with his mobile phone in hand, I was not sure if he was watching something or recording the surroundings, very uncomfortable feeling.

Good experience to live in Grand Mercure Beijing Central. Clean and very comfortable bed, services are good in the hotel and convenient location. Especially the door guards of the hotel are very professional and work hard during Beijing winter time, they help customers take heavy luggage, and call taxis... They provide very warm services to the customers in the hotel during the freezing winter time in Beijing. Mr Song was the last day during the time we stayed in the hotel. Thanks! Perfectly located, not so far from the Tiananmen square, even by walk. The building itself is not a modern one, but kept in a very good shape, clean and tidy. Breakfast is simply fantastic both for asian and western guests, wide selection, good quality ingredients. Staff quite helpful, also spoke rather good English.

Coffee could improve a bit, not bad though. Cooked meal during breakfast is very tasty and good quality, but not kept warm enough. Even when we arrived at start of breakfast (6.30) we found many dishes kinda cold already.

Comfortable rooms, very clean, convenient bathroom. Helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is large and with a variety of options including non Chinese options. Location is very good, only a few blocks away from subway, shops fancy and casual too.

With a few improvement, they could be the best deal in town! Just add some help in the front of the hotel to get taxis, maybe in the future a bar for guests, and they could compete with the best hotels at a much better rate.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I chose the hotel to spend my weekend between two business trips (Korea-China), but it worked out as a mini-holiday. Everything was nice, quiet, friendly, comfortable. There is a swimming pool with a small sauna area and a gym. Breakfast was great. The hotel is a bit old, but it has its atmosphere and soul in it. I even returned here for the second weekend after the business trip. The location is very convenient - the center of the city, five minutes work to a metro station (there are two, you can choose which is more convenient). There is a bus stop next to the hotel where you can take a bus to the express to the Great Wall (20 minutes). The personnel speaks English, and very friendly. Generally I felt very comfortable and relaxed in this place.

Staff are very friendly, room is clean. A local eatery just behind the hotel with yummy local breakfast. Near Tianammen Square but not that walkable as the roads are big. Easy to travel to the attractions by didi (local uber). There's a walmart 15 mins walk away towards left from entrance, and Xidan shopping area around 25 mins walk away towards right from entrance (but would need to walk underground pass to cross a road). Quiet area at night as it's between banks.

I liked the location and the cleanliness. I enjoyed the breakfast which I paid separately from my rate room, one time during my stay. There are good pastries and coffee. I enjoyed one time lunch at the internal all-day dining restaurant, and I wish to extend my gratitude to Tina, who attended me with premure. The food at lunch was a la carte and good 👍. The room was spacious, however, already outdated, like the rest of the hotel, though in normal status of maintenance. There is no view from the window. The hotel has only 10 floors but this is Beijing, I understand there are not high rise building. I wish I could say something on the gym and pool, but I had no time to enjoy them in my 3 days' stay.

Informations given by the staff were not correct: opening and closing hours of some sites were definetly not those reported to us. For this reason we loose the chance to visit some sites the we would truly have loved to see. We have asked many days before arriving in Beijing to book for us the entrance to the Fiorbidden City but despite a first reply that assure us to can help, there were no following answer and so we have missed that chance too. Finally we have not understood the reason to have a bar that closes at 10 pm

Big modern, rooms in great condition. Nice pool and nice English speaking staff. Amazing breakfast! Both traditional Chinese food, including a noodle station, and continental breakfast. I would describe it as lavish.

The spa was just a smaller hot pool not a spa. And I couldn’t get the sauna or the steam to work, I think that should be explained by the pool receptionist. Also a requirement to wear a swimming cap but why? They lend me a fabric one which did nothing. But they let me swim.
