Convenient location. Walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. Staff was very helpful and polite. The toilet has a bidet. Powerful hairdryer. There's a snack room on each floor (except the ground floor and the 5th floor), so you will never be hungry. It has washers and dryers free for guest use (automatic detergent dispenser) with a small gym for workout while you wait for your laundry to finish.

The toilet paper is a little bit thin. It's not too comfortable to use. Also, because of the thickness of the paper, I ended up using more of it. They were always people smoking close to the hotel main door. As a result, you may smell cigarette smoke smell in the lobby.

Staff was very friendly at reception, offered to help with our luggages. Even though the hotel was indicated as 3-star, my experience was no less than a 5-star hotel, it was clean and looked grand, room was comfortable and cosy, all you need was readily available. Staff also helped to answer some of our questions with regards to getting around. I loved that the hotel also provided laundry services! Special thanks to Nina, who offered to upgrade us as our room was not available at time of check in, very much appreciate the generosity!

The hotel location was in the middle of a residential area, the road was somewhat narrow and there were cars and motorcycles coming through. We had to keep a lookout if we were to walk along that road towards the main road (takes about 10mins) to get to the nearest subway station. Good thing is that cars are still able to come in, so on days when I needed to call Didi, it was still accessible.

The SSAW Garden was a great place to use as a base for exploring Beijing. The staff was excellent and was always willing to help. They knew a little English, not a lot, but Google translate works well. The rooms look small online, and they are relatively small, but I actually liked the room. It is fully automated which made everything easy. The heated toilet seat was also nice. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent, but expensive. We loved the restaurant on the corner closest to the hotel at the end of the alley. The breakfast was good, not great. We liked the French toast. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

I studied architecture at Tsinghua University. So when I discovered this hotel was designed by Liang Si Cheng 梁思成，it is a no brainer. If you would like to experience a piece of Chinese architecture, stay here. The roof, the brick, the characters. I also saw Liang’s hand drawing of the most ancient Chinese buildings displayed here as well as its building model. Besides its Chinese architecture characters, fantastic locations to so many restaurants in 簋街，railway station, also within a Hutong cultural precinct, within the second ring road, easy access to Forbidden city, Beihai park, etc. Nina at the reception is also excellent. I ended up staying 15 nights with my wife and children here.

The room was neat and clean. The hotel itself was so pretty outside as well as their interior. All their staffs very helpful and attentive. My room was very hot on the first night(with no window), requested to change the room the next day. They gave me bigger room with window so I can open during nighttime(it was winter and the AC mode fixed on heater mode only)

The air conditioning unit system cannot be adjusted its mode as I wish. I was sweating on the first night, tried to adjust the mode to cold but system cannot be override.

Staff was very polite and kind. We were with 2 years old child and we arrived to Beijing at 1:20, so our check in was approximately at 5:00. The staff conducted our check in very quickly. 1) There was housekeeping every day and it was very good and thorough. Every time housekeepers were changing and adding to our room new Towels, slippers etc 2) room was very tidy and new. We use HVAC system during all the time and it was perfect 3) breakfast included both European and Chinese food and it was such various so our child always found what to eat. 4) the hotel has a small garden with sofa and tables at which visitors can enjoy during good weather. Good location, near center and hutong area. Laundry is auto service with enough machines, efficient and free of charge.

The rooms are not very sound proof. Breakfast is not as expected but still ok. Gym is just besides laundry room, not any intimacy, everyone sees you from the laundry place, and few fitness machines are available. The lift is quite small for an hotel with this size, and only 1 lift as kind of cargo lift without mirrors inside or any decoration. Also in all the rooms only 1 small mirror in the bathroom, no bathtubs in most rooms, not usual for a 4-5 star hotel in China.

We stayed as a family of three (two adults and a 14-year-old child) with breakfast included. Upon arrival, we learned that hotel policy didn’t initially provide a separate bed or breakfast for our child. However, the staff quickly resolved the issue — we were provided both without hassle. The free self-service laundry room was a convenient bonus, and the small gift at checkout was a delightful surprise. Thank you!

Free water and drinks. Welcome fruit tray and berry juice in your room. Rooms are very small but mighty. Every floor has a lounge area to relax, free water, soft drinks, and snacks.

I regret doing the dress up and photography service linked to the hotel. They took us to a very crowded location for pictures, while the photographer did not do a good job with the pictures.

A gorgeous building tucked away down a side street. Staff were so polite and willing the help with anything. Room was comfortable and well stocked - we had a great stay here.

We had underestimated the distance to Beixingqiao station - if travelling regularly by public transport this could be an issue but taxis were also very affordable and the hotel helped us book.
