Though my stay was brief, this hotel ticked all the right boxes for a layover rest. The location is unbeatable — just five minutes from the airport, which gave me peace of mind ahead of an early flight. There’s even a shuttle service, which I sadly missed by just 40 minutes. Impatient as I was, I hopped into a taxi that turned out to be an impromptu mini-adventure… and an unexpectedly expensive one. Lesson learned: good things come to those who wait. Check-in was quick and efficient — no lengthy explanations, no unnecessary fuss. I was in my room before I even had time to ask questions. While the staff could’ve smiled just a touch more, I did appreciate the smoothness and speed. Sometimes, that’s all you need. The room itself was a pleasant surprise — spacious, with two beds all to myself. It felt almost decadent, choosing which one to sleep on. The bathroom was large, clean, and stocked with slippers and a bathrobe, which instantly added a sense of comfort. A kettle, tea, Wi-Fi, and a mini bar (though unused, alas) — everything you’d want for a short stay. I spent only a couple of hours in the room, but it felt like a small oasis. Another thoughtful touch — plenty of lighting options and switches throughout the room. I imagine it would be perfect for two guests with different lighting preferences. Admittedly, a few switches remained a mystery to me, but isn’t that part of the charm? In the morning, I finally caught the shuttle (after almost boarding the wrong bus — nearly became part of a tour group by accident!). But all in all, this hotel delivered exactly what I needed: a place to rest, recharge, and continue my journey.

Downsides? Only the ones life throws at you. I narrowly missed the airport shuttle and paid the price for my impatience with an adventurous five-minute taxi ride. But that was on me — not the hotel. The check-in was lightning fast — so fast, in fact, that there was barely time for a smile. Still, I appreciated the efficiency. Some of the room’s light switches remain a mystery, but sometimes in travel, not everything has to be explained. In the end, nothing took away from the hotel doing exactly what it promised — and doing it well.

Amazing place!! The rooms are very spacious, clean and well-accommodated. The staff is very polite and friendly, always ready to help. The hall is grand and fancy, looks wonderful and has a cafe with a great variety of foods. Overall, recommending this hotel for a stay if you need to sleep before your next flight!

Not a disadvantage, just a clarification: you can’t walk to the hotel from the airport. If you have a night flight (like I did), you may not be able to hop on the free shuttle bus, so keep that in mind when booking a hotel. The taxi that I had to call, was a bit overpriced, so make sure you don’t repeat my mistakes.

The hotel is located relatively close to the airport. It had a free shuttle bus going from T1 and T2 every 30 minutes, even during the night. The hotel and room had a nice interior and were spacious, with a modern bathroom. The bed was comfortable. Checking in and out was very quick. The staff were friendly and spoke English.

We had to spend maybe 30 minutes trying to find the shuttle bus. Luckily someone pointed us in the right direction. Also note that if you are in Shanghai city, the last metro train to the airport goes before midnight. If you miss it, you will be forced to take the comparably expensive taxi.

Hotel was pleasant and clean - by the time we actually arrived in the early hours we were only actually there for about 6 hours so did not get the chance to appreciate fully. Staff were very helpful and room was clean and bed comfortable.

Location - even though location states at the airport it is too far to walk and if the shuttle is not running at the time you need it then your only option is by taxi which we found out does not take credit cards after we were in the car moving - fortunately the hotel has an ATM in reception. If taking a local taxi be careful, we may have been unlucky with our driver but they certainly look out for tourists......

I stay here frequently as a transit hotel. It is very convenient and easy for this purpose. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Really good for kids if you have a long layover in PVG as they have a big play area for kids to play.

Just to be aware that if you do need to check in early they do charge an extra half day which is ok for the convenience of course but I think being an airport hotel it should be a little more flexible it does make the charge quite high when only using for a short stay but due to the hours you need end up paying quite a lot. Sometimes can be hard getting a taxi from the airport in the morning before the shuttle runs as it’s so close the taxi drivers don’t want to take the fare, and the hotel is a bit far of a walk.

My recent stay was made exceptionally pleasant thanks to the wonderful reception staff, Shane and Vicky. I arrived quite early, exhausted from a long flight and they were incredibly understanding and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure I could check in and get some much-needed rest before my next flight. I'm so grateful for their assistance and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those needing a moment of respite during travel. The location is great, the room is comfortable. Unfortunately the instructions to the shuttle were not clear...I should have asked for some precisions...as "first floor" probably means "ground floor" and I missed the 23h20 shuttle and had to take a cab, which was very expensive for a five minute ride because I did not want to wait one hour. Probably good to have this confirmed up ahead. English is OK at the desk, but not on the phone.

My fault for not asking for better precisions on the location of the shuttle pick up at Pudong. Internet hardly works but then again it does not work well at the airport either. Probably a China issue more than a hotel issue. I would suggest for any travel there that anything you might need is printed or saved on your phone.

Shutle bus picks up guests at the point very close to the exit # 9 Arrivals area. Bus is big enough for all pasangers and for the luggage. Driver helps to load suitcases. Transfer is very fast. Hotel is comfortable (executive suite with double bed). Good breakfast for separate cost of CNY 280.0 for two. Breakfast starts at 6 am. Good for early flights.

There was no drinking water for tea/cofe in the room. Called room service. Delivery by robot. Very poor English for the staff of the International hotel.

I've stayed here multiple times due to having to take a flight early on the following day on multiple occasions. It's a good hotel, the beds are comfortable and the room is quite spacious and you can barely hear any plane taking off or landing.

There are only two downsides, in my opinion. One is the price itself. Due to its location near the airport, a one-night reservation here costs quite a lot of money. The only other downside, which I have already commented in another review is the timetable for the bus going to and from the terminals, which I think it could be on a more regular schedule, e.g. every 30 or 45 minutes, instead of on their own schedule.

Lucy helped me check-in when I arrived from the Pudong International airport around 1:00am via hotel shuttle. He is really professional yet friendly. He gave me useful advices about the shuttle service for the next morning. Lucy also upgraded my room and gave me a free buffet breakfast, so that I can have a good rest after the long flight. I had a remarkable experience at this Ramada Plaza location. The hotel shuttle bus service is really on time. It runs til 1:30am from Pudong airport T1, which is a great help for late night flight. Location wise, the hotel is literally less than 10 min ride from the airport. Very convenient. The buffet breakfast is amazing. There are great varieties; from regular Western breakfast, traditional southern Chinese style breakfast. Also, they serve lots of fruit and juice.

If I need to be picky, the hotel might need some small updates overall. Some hotels provide sanitizing wipes for travelers so that travellers can clean their belongings easily. And if there is some USB charging port in the room, it will be fantastic.
