Convenient and good value including free shuttle bus Terminal 1 3rd floor area 6 is what you need to know for the shuttle bus every hour

We were transiting through Shanghai when we stayed at the hotel. It was perfect for our situation. It was close to the airport and the staff were helpful once we arrived. We had an early morning flight and they provided a bagged breakfast for us since we would’ve missed the buffet. That was a very thoughtful touch. 

We sent several messages to the hotel about transportation, and they never responded to us. Once we arrived, it was clear that no one spoke any English so it was unlikely they even understood our messages sent on Booking.com and therefore disregarded them. The shuttle service to the airport runs once an hour, and the driver was very helpful with our luggage; however he took us to the wrong terminal. I think these small little glitches could have been avoided if some of the staff spoke English. It was just surprising given the fact that it’s Shanghai and it’s next to a International in Airport. 

We always took Deco when we had to take flight from PuDong. This time I noticed that the personnel became far more active and friendly as before (before they were also friendly, now even more). Every person I met was helpful, for example the housekeeper ( I thought her number was 219 or 215, with a quick look) noticed that I had to carry 3 suitcases 3 jackets and 2 bags to downstairs, she stopped her work and helped me to move the heavy suitcase to the lobby, while I didn't ask her. Everything was fine in this hotel, even food was delicious and with care prepared, and was not expensive. I am happy to see that Deco move forward.

The room was little bit small, but I can understand, it is in Shanghai, every inch is expensive.

This Shanghai-Deco hotel was the most worth hotel that I visited for the last few years. The price was very good, the hotel was amazing. First of all, free transit to hotel was very clear. It takes 30mins (bear in mind but it’s totally worth it) it runs every hour. We had only 12 hours stop over in Shanghai and the time we needed to stay in a hotel was 9am till 5pm which is very unusual time for hotel check in time. However hotel let us check in and gave us room at 9AM! This made our long journey from NZ to London comfortable and allowed us to refresh ourselves before the next long flight. Hotel was CLEAN, shower was SPACIOUS and lovely. All the amenities are available on demand. The best thing about this hotel was the staffs. Especially the concierge people who greeted us and helped us with baggage. They were so kind hearted and professional. I have so much respect for their professionalism and I took my time of writing this to appreciate their help. This Shanghai Deco hotel was the best decision that I made for this stopover. I can’t recommend enough and very genuine.

Breakfast was excellent. There is a good balance between East and West and I could enjoy the local cuisine like dumplings and congee/noodles. Shuttle service runs 24 hours a day, and a bus comes to the airport every hour. The bed mattress was as good as Holiday Inn's which they use it as their sales point.

I am particular about lighting, and I didn't like cold white light, which was not relaxing after I arrived at 3 am in the morning, unfortunately. Also, the room I stayed in was near the service elevator (they seemed to have changed to use the elevator from guests to service), and I took the elevator by mistake to get to the basement where the service facility was.

*Booked at the last minute when we realized we had our bags for a 12 hour overnight layover. Hotel staff didn't speak English as their main language but used apps / translation tools to get things sorted and went above and beyond on the phone *Shuttle bus is FREE and ran perfectly on time for us (means the location doesn't really matter!) *Depsite being on a 4am shuttle back to the airport we were given a small bag each which was a free breakfast as we'd miss the included buffet *From what we saw the hotel room was absolutely spotless. *Everyone from the concierge to desk staff and even the bus driver were insanely helpful, couldn't fault anyone!

A comfortable enough hotel to spend time between flights. There are no complaints about the rooms or the staff. The bed is just wonderful - just what you need to recover. The breakfast was also good. But you should understand that you should not consider this hotel as the main place to rest or stay in Shanghai. There is literally nothing around the hotel, only some warehouses, construction sites and highways. The city is also very far away - on average 200-250 yuan for a taxi and half an hour on the road. Do not forget to withdraw cash at the airport - there is no ATM in the hotel. If you do not have Alipay or cash, then you will not even be able to buy anything from the vending machines in the lobby or call a taxi. The transfer from/to the airport runs strictly on schedule - this is good, but the schedule is only at the hotel. It would be good to know it in advance, because standing at the terminal looking for a bus and not knowing exactly what time it will arrive is not very convenient.

The staff were all lovely and very helpful; I could use the room until 2pm); the rooms were spotless (the first room smelt of cigarette smoke but they allocated me another room instantly); the bathroom very modern...and the restaurant food was excellent (but I wasn't game to try some of the more exotic dishes such as Bull Frog!).... it's in the middle of nowhere but their regular free bus service to the airport 🛫 was brilliant.

The look of the place from the outside was initially a shock (very ordinary) and I didn't know what I had let myself in for BUT it was an excellent hotel and I'd stay there again for any late arrivals or early departures etc

The shuttle from the airport was reliable. Called us to come down from room in time for shuttle we booked. The staff were very helpful and easy to communicate with. The reception staff could speak english, and the resturant staff used a translator and ipad with photos of meals which made ordering easy. The location was was close to the airport but had no aeroplane or traffic noise. Room was clean and had all amenties we needed; hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, kettle. Loved breakfast so many options to choose from.
