The hotel is very beautiful, comfortable beds and pillows. Everything is new. All staff were friendly and welcoming.

! Attention transit passengers. You will need to go through border/customs. The hotel is outside the transit area. The hotel could not answer in advance the question of where they were - before or after customs. They simply do not know, which is very strange and unprofessional. At night, the short/straight path from arrival to the hotel entrance is CLOSED! Had to go around at random, there are no navigation signs for this case. And no one at the airport knew where the hotel located 🤦‍♀️ 9 out of 10 airport employees do not speak English at all.

I loved that as soon as you go out the exit of the airport you will walk a little bit with your trolley cart and you will find the hotel on your right. The hotel is connected to the airport through a big hall and it is very easy to spot. There are elevators and trolley carts everywhere so it is very comfortable even if you have many luggages because you can take you luggage until your room floor and the staff will even help you with the trolley carts and everything. The check-in was very quick and they accepted both international debit/credit cards and AliPay. They gave me three cards for three free drinks and they even had a vending machine near the lobby that could be used to take snacks and drinks (AliPay was necessary to pay the stuff in it). They also had displays in the lobby with the number of the flights and the terminal where one needed to go for them. When I arrived they also gave me some welcome fruit. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. There was a mini fridge, sockets near the bed, a kettle, tea, mugs and so on. The shower was also pretty big and I loved that there were many amenities like toothbrush, hair elastics, hairbrushes, q-tips, toothpaste and so on. The toilet was a technlogical one, so it even had bidet options. If you have a stopover - of few hours or of some days like I had - this hotel is perfect.

The hotel is at the airport, but freely accessible (not in a restricted area). It's excellent if you have an early flight. Arrive the night before and you won't have to worry about rushing to the airport. You're already there. The room is nice and quiet. The bathroom is good.

The QR code to order room service doesn't work. If you select the 'in room dining ' button on the phone you are connected to an voice automated service that asks you what you want to order, however if you tell what you want the service switches to Chinese and then disconnects. I tried this several times to no avail. So I called guest services and told them that I want to order food. The staff member asked what I wanted, I said spaghetti Bolognese. The staff didn't understand the last word. Not even after repeating it five times, very slowly. I was told to order something from the menu I told them it was on the menu. I can understand if staff in China don't speak perfect English, but come on. This who thing could have been avoided by offering guests QR code ordering.

I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this hotel! They get a full ten out of ten from me! When people talk about a 5-star hotel, this is it! From the hotel decor, to the size of the room, to the room decoration itself, the level of staff professionalism (all staff: porters, housekeepers, reception, waiters/waitresses). A splendid experience! The cleanliness, the bed linen! Oh wow! I have so much to say! Congratulations Holiday Inn! You've absolutely nailed it with this hotel. I will be staying here for many trips to come.

Not a single thing. The only thing I would say I didn't 'like' was that it wasn't easy to locate driving in a Didi (local Uber). The driver went around a few times looking for the entrance, and it had me panicked a little.

I loved that you can exit the airport and walk inside a covered walkway bridge to enter the hotel. It was so nice not to have to try to get a taxi or such to get to a hotel after dealing with immigration/customs lines and the heat of the airport! The front desk was so nice to give me a Sprite when I registered for the room. It was much needed and enjoyed! The room was decorated in a new-age style. I loved it! Plus, the glass "wall" of the bathroom was atomized to block the view -- unfortunately, I was traveling alone but still enjoyed playing with the tech. I will stay here again if I should ever have another extended layover requiring a place to crash, since the airport has not completed the sleep pods and showers in T2, yet. The other staff members were so helpful when I asked questions for checking in and out.

The fact that I didn't decide to go earlier and waited too long to really enjoy the amenities, i.e. restaurant, room, etc. I thought I could deal with sleeping in the airport terminal; I was wrong!

Absolutely fantastic place. I have had to catch flights early in the morning or late in the evening multiple times at Shanghai Pudong airport and I always had to stay at a hotel which is not located in the airport itself. To my surprise, I decided to give it a go at the Holiday Inn and I was blown away by this hotel. It's conveniently located between terminal 1 and 2, so no need to exit the airport. The facilities are brand new, the hotel is extremely clean, the rooms are huge and they even let you "park" your trolley outside the room so you don't have to drag your luggage around when you have to catch your flight. The staff were super helpful and I was very impressed by this new hotel. I have stayed in more hotels in China than I can count and I will definitely stay here again.

I mentioned them letting the trolleys being parked outside the room as a positive, but someone (not sure if a staff member or other guest) took mine, so I had to take another one which was parked near the elevator. But other than that, the hotel is great, everything is brand new and the location is perfect.

The hotel is easy to find and can be accessed without leaving the building (you do have to clear customs). The room was spacious and offered everything you could wish for - comfy mattresses, good blackout curtains (we were staying only during daytime hours as we had to bridge 14 hours between a flight from Madrid and to Melbourne), and a good shower. Excellent breakfast featuring a variety of western and Chinese/Asian options. The food was tasty and of good quality.

Nothing. Checkin was fast and efficient. I do wish there were options to book explicit time slots rather than days. As this is an airport hotel, travelers can arrive at odd times, such as our 6AM arrival and 5PM departure. it would be great if we could book such slots rather than the day before or after and hope that the hotel can do an early checkin or late checkout, which may not always be available. Having said that, we had no issues checking in earlier but were advised that checkins could not be done before 6AM.

Great new hotel, with really nice spacious rooms within walking distance to terminal 1 and 2 on the airport. Breakfast was very good, a wide variety at a very reasonable price. I was secretly surprised that the staff barely spoke English, which I would expect in an airport hotel with so many international guests. However, in general they are friendly and try to help you with google translate. Although when entering the breakfast area, all that is said is: ‘room key’, instead of a friendly ‘Good morning, may I have your room number/key please?While having breakfast, at 09:45am a lady comes up to me with her phone, which via google translate says I can sit here for another 15 min until breakfast closes. While I know this is very well intentioned, I personally would not go around all the tables in the breakfast area with the phone with this message on it. I think the breakfast hours are clearly stated. I checked in at 10pm, after which I wanted to have a drink at the bar after a long travel day. Once arrived at the bar, it concerns a "lobby bar" where there is no atmosphere, no guests are present and there is some kind of fluorescent lighting, that's how light it is. Very unfortunate, the bar vibe is not to be found here. Probably the reason why there are no guests. I discussed this topic with one of the friendly ladys working around the bar. I would recommend doing something with the lighting, in my point of view a missed opportunity! So I just turned around and went back to the room, too bad. Overall a wonderful hotel which I can definitely recommend! I would say some small improvements would make the stay even more optimal.

Completely surpassed my expectations. When you say Holiday Inn to a British person, you know what you’re getting, and it’s usually not that pretty. But this took it to a different level. absolutely stunning room very spacious and love the lighting and all the little items included. Bit of a walk from the airport, but it’s all indoors and they actually made it quite pretty with some of the features and designs on the way. Absolutely perfect for a transfer stay over.

Honestly, nothing it was brilliant, apart from the fact that I couldn’t get my streaming/casting to work off my phone

Location , ease towards walking to terminal 1 , easy check in easy check out, great breakfast spread! Great value ! Would like to have had guest computer access or office space to print out papers for work that had to also do , but overall it was great! Friendly staff. Get breakfast included well worth it! Staff even if didn’t know English that great was still able to communicate using different translation apps to help.
