We liked everything. Felt simply wonderful and safe. As if you're staying in your own colonial style villa and have people around who take care of you. 8 minute walk away from the Walled city, away from all the noise, but super close to it. We had a 4 year old kid with us, and he was especially excited about the pool. We enjoyed it too! And a girl at a reception was very helpful. Thank you!

That we had to leave it. :) There was nothing not to like. Ok, electricity went out for an hour but that was not hotel's fault.

Casa Bustamante exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful, tranquil, unique, safe & historical hotel like no other. Breakfast every morning was nourishing & tasty (we loved the scrambled eggs!) Each of the staff are incredible & were keen to practice Spanish with my partner (who speaks much better than me!) Our room was divine & we had ample space. It was comfortable & unique in its furnishings & original architecture. The pool & garden is much better than the photos & we ended up spending quite a bit of time relaxing in between the beautiful chaos of the city. They also have security at all hours & keep the front gate locked so you feel so safe.

This lovely hotel was a private home in a previous lifetime. As noted elsewhere there are 6 rooms with 2 more coming soon. We were here for a week and didn't notice any construction but were out most days. Our room was large and had both a fan and air con. There was a choice of 4 breakfast menus - we settled for juice, fruit, eggs on toast & coffee. It was great. Security was good and never an inconvenience. Only once in our stay did we need to ring the buzzer to be let out. Rafael, Manuel & Antonio were all very helpful and their English far exceeded our lame Spanish. The location is perfect if you don't want to actually stay inside the old city. We made the trip at least once, sometimes twice a day/night, always on foot. The pool was clean and very refreshing after each day walking in hot, humid Cartagena.

The bed was made up each day but the bathroom was looking a bit lived in after the week. Traffic in the street seemed chaotic the afternoon we arrived then strangely never occurred again. Everything else perfect.

Very nice colonial house, you can really feel immersed in Cartagena history Nice common areas, with a clean swimming pool H24 staff on site, we felt very safe. Really welcoming staff at breakfast and during the day New rooms currently in construction are definitely an upgrade, we had a first look and would recommend look for these

Area is very close to the center, yet the staff recommended not to go around in the night but take cabs/uber Rooms are currently being updated, the ones facing the road are a bit noisy Breakfast is good, but options a bit limited Going in and out from the property needs staff assistance (for additional safety)

We stayed in 2 different rooms, they were both great. We somewhat preferred the smaller room with the queen bed instead of the larger room with the king. Good location, close to city center but away from the city noise. Helpful and accommodating staff. Nice pool. AC worked very well. Breakfast was decent (but more fruits would be appreciated). We would stay there again!

Communicating with the hotel beforehand to arrange to leave my luggage was unfortunately a frustrating experience. That experience aside, once we were there everything was great. The washroom windows had no screens so there were some mosquitoes in the room.

The hotel is located in a beautiful hisotrical building, decorated with style, and is very quiet. It's also located near the airport, just 7 minutes from the busy centre. Every member of staff is welcoming, professional, helpful, and makes sure you are safe (important for a solo woman travelling). After my friends left I was alone and sick on the last day of my stay and they checked on me and organised for medicine to be delivered. I cannot recommend enough.

Everything! The hotel is beautiful, housed in an old home, very secure, very clean, and the staff is attentive, especially Miguel, as well as Xavier and the two young women who work there as well. The hotel is quiet, the pool refreshing, and the breakfast very good. Very close to the walled city, and also had a corner store to buy water and beer. Safe to walk at night.

A nice hotel in a colonial-era house, located in a quiet neighbourhood. The room was quite large with a high ceiling, which made it comfortable despite the heat. Both the room and the common spaces were nicely decorated. Breakfast was quite good. The area seemed safe during the day; at night, people working at the hotel suggested using taxi.

The doors of the rooms go directly into the reception area. The hotel has a small number of rooms (only six, I think), so there weren't many people. But I suppose it could be noisy if some guests returned late.

We loved this hotel! It is beautifully furnished in colonial style and our room was huge with a really well-appointed bathroom and shower, rather intriguingly partially open to the sky with plants growing up the wall (no creepy-crawlies though). The pool area and breakfast terrace are lovely. The walled town is a 10 minute walk away, including a main road to cross, the street itself feels safe. Staff were pleasant and helpful and there is a locked gate which they open to let you in and out. Electricity dropped out a few times but they seem to have a backup generator so it wasn’t much of an issue.

Liked the location, just outside the walls in a quiet, mostly residential area. 10 - 12000 for a taxi to the centre or a 15 minutes walk. Nice colonial style house with a small garden and a small pool. Felt very safe. We had the "junior suite" which was very nice.

Getting breakfast took extremely long, despite few guests. Rafael (?), very helpful, was the only one who spoke English, which made more complex requests a bit difficult when he wasn't there - we only speak very basic Spanish. But generally very friendly staff. A few sun loungers would have been nice.
