My fiancé and I spent a wonderful three weeks in this truly unique place. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home thanks to the exceptionally kind, attentive, and professional staff. The warm, welcoming atmosphere was unlike any typical hotel and the property is made up of beautifully restored old stone houses, carefully connected and transformed into a charming retreat. As you walk through the hallways, you can almost breathe in the simple, authentic history of Istria. Every corner is tastefully decorated, the rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the whole ambience is both relaxing and inspiring. Breakfast was an absolute highlight, offering an excellent variety from fresh local delicacies to classic breakfast favorites, ensuring there was something for everyone. When it came time to leave, we were touched to receive a bottle of their own homemade olive oil, produced by the hotel itself, as a farewell gift. The owner even personally treated us to a glass of wine, a gesture that perfectly reflected the warmth and hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. A heartfelt thank you to the reception team, the waiters, and the housekeeping staff. Your professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made our stay truly unforgettable. Bale are very nice and peaceful place. I like it a lot. Hotel La Grisa is cute, placed in the old renovated building, clean, quite comfortable (be aware of a lot of stairs). In the summer season you get free car parking in camping area Mon Perin on the coast which is also very nice (lot of trees and good shadow). There is also small train that can take you there for a beach time (there is also good restaurant there for an easy lunch if you are staying longer). Bale are located in short drive (20 min) to Pula, Rovinj and nice places in the inland of Istria so you can cruise all around for nice views and good food. Love it!

Breakfast could be more sophisticated, based on local ingredients, more domestic food like soft cheese, honey, jam, vegetables, fruits. It’s somehow basic and no imagination is used for breakfast menu.

the room was very clean and the hotel ambience was very nice. The staff was friendly, the restaurant had amazingly good food and the wine was great. Breakfast was ok and the staff was very attentive.

The door sound isolation isn't the best so we could hear the staff chatting downstairs early in the morning and other guests passing by our room in the middle of the night. However, if you are a deep sleeper it shouldn't be an issue. Also, we had a yard light directly in front of our window that was on the whole night so we had to cover the window with curtains which limited the air inflow. Minor gripes in an otherwise very cozy hotel.

Large room in the hotel’s annex across the street. Loved the space, the design of the armoire with drawers underneath and space for one’s luggage. Newer heating. Was like new. Large bathroom with very nice walk-in shower where the water actually stays in a fairly confined space and drains where it is supposed to! Loved the heated floor in the bathroom for how it felt underfoot but also because it helped dry out our towels and some hand-washed laundry. Friendly and helpful staff Easy parking just a block away

Just FYI - A very modest fitness center— one treadmill, one elliptical, one other machine. Some free weights. Not “bad” necessarily; just offering clarification.

Great accomodation, the price is fair, maybe even on the higher end considering the timing of the reservation. But definitely a great location to stay at if you have a car.

Not a deal breaker, quite cool for a one off, is the bed wasnt elevated but rather on the floor without a boxmatress. So just the mattress with a frame around it. Last time we stayed it was a comfort room (normal bed) and this time it was a superior. Via pictures it's impossible to tell which is which.

Servise was really on top, staff was professional and kind to show us more rooms, breakfast was delicious (Lepi made really good scrambled eggs😂), bed was comfortable.. and the bathroom in annex room was breathtakeing. We were so lucky to be alone on our floor so it was quiet and private feeling..wifi is perfect! Indoor heated pool is really nice, there is also sauna. Really nice experience!

A room was a bit dark, not enough light and showerhead was a bit broken.. but all other was great

Cosy hotel in the old town of Bale/Vale. Calm place away from the crowded cities in Istria. Have access to the beach, which is 6 km away in to the camping, with the card for your room. No sand on the beach, only rocks. Water was clear. The waterpark was free. Breakfast was good.

Pay attention to the parking. If you don't want to be ticketed by the municipality, first thing you must do is to put your pass on the dashboard, immediately after you get it. I mean immediately, really.

What an incredible hotel! The standard was very high. The room was lovely and the surrounding village was beautiful. The Spa was amazing!! A beautiful pool and lovely outdoor seating area where their are a number of sun loungers to relax on. This was certainly our highlight of our trip. We were very pleased as well to have made a reservation at the restaurant. The food was amazing! Seating was just perfect, whether in the hotel's inner square, or opposite the hotel with views of the village, there can be no complaints.

There were a number of hairs (not ours) on our bathroom floor after each cleaning day, just a bit more care was needed when cleaning We slept on the top floor of the hotel. There is not lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up if you have a fair bit like we did. Aircon stopped working on our last night which was a little frustrating as it was very hot and we both struggled to sleep If you plan on eating at the restaurant in the summer, be warned, mosquitos will be out to bite. Even the repellent candles could not help.

Very nice vintage hotel in a beautiful little town with an excellent restaurant. Breakfast is in buffet style offering a complete choice. Staff is super helpful and our room was comfortable with a spacious bath room.
