In this very interesting hotel, with impossibly excellent location, was the best served and richest breakfast I have ever eaten in hotels (and I have been in 1000 hotels). Some chef artists work there. You simply have to see that widest ever selection of food, arranged in such a beautiful way. For the first time in my life (again, I travel non-stop) I saw that the cheeses and other dairy products as well as meat products (ham, salami etc), and some sweets sensitive to high temperatures (puddings, porridges, etc.) served in glass display cases with cooling system, so you open the glass partition and elegantly take the best hygiene-stored product (I am a professor of microbiology and pay close attention to food hygiene wherever I go). Breakfast takes place in the ship's beautiful restaurant with huge windows and enjoyable atmosphere. It was really a beautiful morning experience there.

The windows in the room can not be opened. It's a ship. For me, it was not a pleasant thing, although I slept completely peacefully. Anyway, air-conditioning is fully active all the time.

The boat is moored in a fantastic location, right in the centre of town and close to all the main shops, tourist attractions and restaurants. Couldn't ask for a better location. The staff we very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with loads of different choices on the buffet. Given the excellent location, I don't think you could find anything else for such great value. The accomodation is advertised as a Boat Ho(s)tel, so providing you keep that in mind when setting your expectations then you won't be disappointed.

The only fault I could find is that our room was located on a passageway that everyone had to pass through in order to access their rooms. The sound insulation wasn't brilliant, so it was a little bit noisy at times. Fortunetely the accomodation didn't seem to be fully booked, so the disruption wasn't as noisy as it might have been. still, this is only a minor pointagainst an otherwise excellent experience.

My stay at Botel Marina was an absolutely wonderful and unique experience – I can't recommend it enough to anyone visiting Rijeka! First off, the location is fantastic, right in the heart of things yet offering a peaceful retreat on the water. While the boat itself is older, it's been charming and lovingly renovated, creating a truly special and inviting atmosphere. My cabin was admittedly miniature, but incredibly well-designed and cozy. It felt more like a cosy boutique hotel room than a boat cabin, which was a pleasant surprise! For me, cleanliness is paramount, and they truly exceeded expectations here. The room was spotless, the bedding fresh, and the bathroom was sparkling clean – white, mold-free, and no unpleasant odors, which is a huge plus and often hard to find. The small porthole windows let in plenty of natural light, adding to the lovely ambiance. I was genuinely surprised by the thoughtfulness of the room amenities. There was a TV, a kettle with tea, coffee, and even a little biscuit – small but significant touches that really make a difference and make you feel at home. Breakfast was outstanding! Fresh, with a wide variety of choices, including excellent vegan and gluten-free options. This attention to dietary needs is commendable and shows a real care for their guests. A special shout-out also goes to the staff and the parking arrangements. I had reserved parking in advance, and upon arrival, a staff member was actually waiting outside to guide me and ensure I parked smoothly in the marina. Even though the parking is outdoor and uncovered, I felt my car was perfectly safe. Overall, Botel Marina offers a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort, with a fantastic location and invaluable attention to detail. If you're looking for a unique and comfortable stay in Rijeka, look no further – this is it!

We were really surprised with the experience at Botel Marina, of course you know you can't expect a big room, or big windows, but some of the things that are important to us, were fully met: 1. Clean and nice bathroom 2. Firm bed- I hate soft matresses 3- Functioning air-con 4- Nice breakfast- had a woder variety than I expected

The parking is quite expensive per day, and is not very clear how to get to the parking area. The bed didn't have space to get out from both sides, so one of us had to get outnof rhe bed from the bottom of it.

I had no idea that the Botel was actually a former ferry, and thus docked on the sea. It was a pleasant surprise, like finding out you are going to be staying on the Queen Mary in Los Angeles, a stately ocean liner from Titanic days. This is of course much smaller and not as luxurious, but it gives the same fun feel of being on an ocean liner with decks and views over the sea and port holes for windows. It is smack dab in the center of town, moored on the riva main promenade, but I did not hear anything in my room, it was so quiet and peaceful. The bed was big and firm, very comfortable, and I slept very well. The water pressure in the shower was way better than mine at home in Hvar! The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating, and the breakfasts were great, and included in the extremely reasonable price. I really loved everything about this stay. Thank you to the wonderful staff! And also PS, it was extremely hot outside, but the air conditioning in my room was amazing and I was able to adjust it to a temperature that was absolutely ideal for me, so every time I walked in, I was greeted by refreshing, cool air that was just right. So critically important during a heat wave (more and more common all the time).

I personally would add more fruits and vegetables to the breakfast, but that's because I'm a vegetarian! Still, there were enough options for me to definitely have a hearty breakfast. But that is my only minor quibble.

Location of this boat-hotel is excellent - right smack in the middle of everything in downtown Rijeka. If you do not expect your hotel to float on the water you're in for a surprise: it is an old ferry converted into a hotel. Very extravagant and nice.

Parking is a little awkward but then, what do you expect from the middle of a busy port.

Great location, in between two main bus stations (cross-border bus and city bus including airport bus), also closed to city centre. Very clean room, tap are shinny, this is so impressive, good WiFi, socket not next to bed but it's still close to. Excellent breakfast, it's shame can't have it in second morning as I have to catch up the airport bus, really want to have it

Poor sound-proof, can hear for everyone walking through the corridor (cuz the wooden material), and one more thing is that the upper deck (floor) is restaurant, starting from 07:00, everyone walk to restaurant, I can hear the sound which is a bit annoying

Great old ship.staff went out of their way to take care of me as one night I was the only customer ( January)

Each day a ventilator fan in the ceiling blows outside air into the room. Would normally not be a problem except it was zero degrees outside so room was always cold. Would not be a problem except when it is very cold outside

Great value for money. Hotel felt perfectly safe. Amazingly clean and well run. Nice a/c unit in room - a must for Croatia in August! Bed and pillows very comfortable. Will definitely stay again. Staying on a ship was something a bit different!

A couple of minor things. Shower leaked into the bathroom and even into the bedroom. Exercise room barbell lacked clips for holding the plates.

Really original place to discover Rijeka from. The staff is super friendly and the prospect of sleeping on a boat, getting on the sundeck with a book, being in the city center is amazing

The area is in the middle of the city center, so it can get noisy. But the parties around are great too.
