Absolutely a great four star hotel with an incredible ocean view! The entire building was fresh, modern and very well designed, a great location exactly near the beach. We even had a private beach section. The staff was extremely helpful as well and really went above and beyond to ensure you had a good day. Special shoutout to Ena, the girl should get a raise! When I had some question about my room and had some problem to turn on the electricity, she personally went up and showed me how to do it even though she didn’t need to. This person also went above and beyond to help with my intercity transportation when I had some issues with it and personally offered to make in app purchases I had some issues with. A really friendly, helpful and extremly capable staff member.

Beach area is not inviting for anything else but swimming - not nice at all for sunbathing....Sun beds & umbrellas available. Restaurant with white table cloth. Terrace is very small but cosy - we enjoyed our dinner there. Because of early departure we had to pre-order a taxi at the reception the evening before. We were told that the ride from hotel to Rijeka Airport takes 45 mins and taxi costs 50 EUR. Taxi was on time but much too small for 2 suitcases - 1 suitcase had to be placed on the seats. The ride to the airport actually took only 20 mins !!! - but price was still 50 EUR. We felt cheated and had the impression reception staff and taxi driver are good friends and made a good deal.

The hotel (built in 1914) is in a prime location, right by the sea. The rooms with balconies overlooking the sea are wonderful. The beach is also great and, above all, practical. The breakfast, which is served in a hall overlooking the sea, is plentiful. The staff, especially the receptionist, Mrs Maša, is very helpful and extremely friendly. I hope the hotel will remain affordable after the renovation and joining Marriott's Tribute Portfolio brand. I also hope that the historic appearance of the hotel will be retained during renovation and maybe even some of the original features of the hotel (particularly the beach area) as seen on historic photographs and postcards on the "Lokalpatrioti Rijeka" website will be reinstalled: https://forum.lokalpatrioti-rijeka.com/viewtopic.php?f=237&t=2730

Access to the sea: the concrete stairs need cleaning and additional ladders need to be installed, as the beach area is one of the best features of the hotel.

Great breakfast. Very friendly staff. Nice with private "beach" - concrete/stone section with sun loungers and parasols. Except some beeping from the nearby harbor it was very calm compared to the nearby public beaches. Big room (single, superior with seaside view). Coming by train from Zagreb it's very close to the Sušak-Pećine train station. It's also close to Town Center Rijeka where there's a big grocery store and many others.

The dinner menu was missing a vegetarian option except soup. The outside parts could be freshened up from old paint falling off and rusty water spots. A bit noisy from the corridor. The safe was broken.

We booked dinner bed and breakfast. Table for two on the balcony overlooking the sea was lovely, and the waiting staff friendly. It is possible to swim in the beautifully clear sea straight off the sunbathing deck on the lower floor. The hotel has it's own small private beach, which was unexpected. We even managed to get a space in the hotel car park.

The set menu courses were varied and interesting but the portions were way too large. There was a lot of waste, even though we are big eaters. The hotel is next to a container ship loading dock, which wasn't very pretty. Not a deal breaker, but this should be mentioned in the hotel information.

Great breakfast buffet with a lot of variety. The 'beach' was actually a concrete platform. Don't get me wrong, it was great that it was there. Just not really a beach. View from the room is amazing. Loved the balcony. The gym was fine - small, but it had dumbbells, which is always good.

The wifi was pretty bad throughout the hotel. Furniture was a bit outdated, but generally clean. Some stains on the walls.

The most amazing view of the Adriatic Sea from the lobby, restaurant, and our rooms. Lovely to leave the balcony door open for the air and breeze. The breakfast buffet was sooo delicious! So many things to try! Staff was super nice and helpful.

Parking was a little difficult, but we worked it out. Hotel is close to a cargo shipping port. If your room is not on the far end away from it, you may hear some noises. Daughter’s room had a slight cigarette smell. My shower needed some regrouting, and the temperature shifted a bit during the shower. Otherwise, an exceptional place to stay, I felt so lucky to be there, and I miss that view already.

The hotel is 15 minutes' walk from the city center. It is located in a beautiful place with a view of the sea and the islands. Street is very quiet and safe. Our room was large and comfortable, same as on website. Everything was clean, the furniture was of high quality. We slept well. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, something for everyone. There were tasty hot dishes and a variety of cereal, salads and fruit. They make organic juices. During breakfast they surprised us with champagne. The restaurant staff is very friendly and helpful.

The buffet dinner in the hotel restaurant was fine. For the price of 22 eur per person (drinks not included) we expected more. They offer different dishes, but not enough fish and seafood options. Vegetables were overcooked. Food runs out quickly. The selection of desserts needs to be improved. The cakes have the same taste and were not cooled enough. We think it is better to order dinner a la carte or have dinner in some other restaurant. The weather was bad so we rather stayed at the hotel.

Constantly the same offer of food for breakfast The cleanliness of the rooms could be at a higher level There were no slippers in the room The shower gel and hair wash should be of better quality for skin and hair (I do not recommend washing your hair with it), hand soap should be more nourishing for the skin, it dries out the skin a lot.

It's the perfect place for us! Comfort, people ready to satisfy your needs, fantastic view on the sea, good beach in the hotel, good restaurant. Heaven sent the possibility of parking there , very friendly staff.

I think air conditioned in the room could be more powerful . Last year we had some problems communicating with people at the restaurant but this year there was a guy speaking italian that helped us with the food choice. Well done!
