Our family enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the New Helvetia. We did not realize until we arrived how unique the hotel is. The rich history is showcased in it's social areas that include a full bar, dining area, sitting area and gorgeous terrace overlooking the foothills of the Troodos. The space is full of vintage charm, but also included all the modern ammenities we needed (updated, clean and well eqipped bathroom), air-conditioning, and strong WIFI service. The staff was incredibly knowledgable, friendly and attentive. They truly seemed to love and take pride in this very special place. Go and enjoy!

Not a thing! It surpassed our expectations.

The location, the building, the view, the staff - everything was perfect. The pine trees all around, the mountains, the historical building, the nightingales singing - it was a magical experience. There is a couple of fireplaces in the common area, one of which was lit for us when we asked about it. There are board games available as well, so we spent a beautiful evening playing chess by the fireplace. Our room had 2 balconies, both with stunning views on the mountains and pine trees right next to the building. The bathroom is very modern. It was also very quiet - we could only hear the birds singing. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is also close to the hiking trails. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back sometime again.

The room was small, but still functional. The bed was a bit hard for our taste, but that’s personal preference.

Excellent hotel! The spirit of antiquity in the design and at the same time ideal new plumbing. Nice host, very cozy lobby, restaurant and terrace. Lots of interesting details, old photos and things that you want to look at. You could feel yourself like in old movie:) The location is good, a lot of trees, birds singing, you can walk on foot to restaurants, shops and trails(if you have no health problems). Room was nice, clean and spacious. Wonderful bathroom with excellent hot water pressure and flawless towels. Coffee machine, tea bags, kettle, hair dryer, all this was in the room. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

High audibility in the rooms. It would be great to have little fridge in the room, but this is not a disadvantage of course.

Breakfast was a letdown—less than average quality and variety. Although the dining area is pleasant, the morning meal itself could be improved

Room was modern, very large and comfortable, with a tiny balcony over the forest Overall atmosphere is awesome: building and common areas on the ground floor come directly from Gatsby period! I really felt like a 30's actress during the breakfast and I really enjoyed panorama from the hall

Mattress was not so comfy and windows couldn't be locked. As there is no lift and parking lots are few, I would not recommend this hotel to elderly people. Breakfast was a continental one with almost salty specialities: it could be improved by moving cakes, jams and choco cream in a different area, more accessible

Absolutely loved our stay at the New Helvetia Hotel! The building is full of character and charm, with a rich history that the friendly staff and owner were more than happy to share. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. The setting is simply stunning – a beautiful historic hotel set in picturesque surroundings. Highly recommend for a peaceful and memorable getaway!

There was truly nothing we didn’t like – everything exceeded our expectations.

Very comfortable studio in the Annex, complete with fridge and twin-hotplate. Great views of the forests from the balcony. Very quiet when we were there because no other studios were occupied.

The restaurant was closed on the Friday night we stayed at the hotel but snacks were available -- warmed up frozen pizza and toasted cheese sandwiches! Check in advance is the restaurant will be open. The cocktail we ordered was very poorly prepared and presented.

Had character. Breakfast was good. There is a nice veranda serving coffees and drinks throughout the day.

The temperature in the rooms was uncomfortable. It was too hot and there was no aircondition in the rooms. Also there was no lift in the property. There is no food throughout the day, other than breakfast.

Cosy hotel with beautiful surroundings and warm comfortable fireplace. Hospitality of the owner was superb. The staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was top notch before the hike around the waterfall.

It’s not that we didn’t like, it’s just the bathroom shower is quite tiny and uncomfortable. We are yoga people, so we managed to bend and stretch there. But for older people or people with disabilities the shower would be very unpleasant. Maybe other rooms had different shower.
