It’s a large hotel which caters to varied needs. Pools was good, warm(29 degrees), not too busy, needs renovation. Food was great and there’s another cafe if you missed lunch.

Used to be a grand hotel in the past with old days chique. Not really suitable for children. The main issue is the location: the hotel is far away from the centre on a hill and the roads are steep and poor paved, not suitable for buggies. The hotel is somewhat dark, the corridors and rooms are in a permanent dusk. Which contracts with the jolly look of the town below. No airconditioning. Parking of 20€ is way too expensive for such a remote location. There are lots of parking spots. It’s a sanatorium and there are lot of sick people, walking around in bath robes. It’s not an issue per se, but not for everyone.

Everything was perfect except the staff.

When we saw the faces and attitude of their staff in the restaurant, we had the impression that they hate their jobs. We had there breakfast 3 days and hardly anyone smiled. The girl with long black hair was extremely unfriendly. She looked with such an expression that we expected fire from her eyes. Guys, if you don't like that job, just find another one.

Beautiful garden, great views, very clean. Service personnel in the Breakfast/Dinner area were exceptional.

I was late for a few minutes for the special bath and stuff rudely said it was immediately cancelled. I understand that bath has to be of certain temperature but there is a way how to communicate this to a guest. Also, I was never told I had to be there at exact time because otherwise a bath would be cancelled. If it is so strict then Personnel needs to highlight that to clients. We are on vacation and it is a challenge to keep a track of time. It took me by surprise, especially the tone.

Glorious views of Karlovy Vary from this grande dame of a hotel which exudes its historical glamour - marble staircases, gilt, massive chandeliers- at every turn. Vast comfortable room with an immense bathroom. Superbly clean and well- maintained both in the structure and the gardens. We loved the funicular to town. The breakfasts were wonderful- very extensive and generous. Halfboard evening meal was also good with plenty of choice. The swimming pool is huge ( perhaps 20metres) for a hotel. Beds were very comfortable and there was loads of wardrobe space. Everything in the room worked properly.

I tried second time and confirmed that it was the last. Not sure why it us that popular. Maybe spa procedures are awesome, but for me, it has lack of “personal touch”. Staff if 50/50 good/bad, and if you are not lucky, they will ruin your stay. Sauna is small. On the other hand, everything I requested in advance was done, chef during the breakfast was super useful. But overall - same as last time - I was a bit disappointed by overall feeling. Of I compare it with main competitor down the hill, Imperial is far behind, mostly because of people.

The room was vey spacious and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and offered a lot of variation every day. There were a number of spa activities, such as massages etc. offered if you were so inclined to take advantage of them. We had a Thai massage which was very good. Also, the use of the fenicular going up and down to the center was a godsend.

We were a bit dissappointed in the spa facilities. The sauna itself was very small and we were only able to use it once the entire week we were there, as all the other times we tried to take a sauna it was "packed" shoulder to shoulder with people. With such a large facility, you would think you would add another sauna to the hotel. The hottubs were also quite small, but at least there were two of them.

Clean, friendly helpful staff, safe, good services, good food, good value for your money. I liked the location.

I liked the location on top of a hill overlooking the surroundings. That being said, it is on a hill - there is a funicular (which is needed if you have baggage) but the funicular does NOT operate at your convenience nor is it clear from the hotel you can take the funicular, if you're walking from bus to hotel. Also, the first time you ride funicular you have to pay after that you just show your hotel room card.

Room was spacious and beautifully appointed. Bathroom was also very spacious. Really liked the room entry set up to hang coats, hats, shoes, and umbrellas. One of the owners they called Peter, actually helped our daughter get up the hill by carrying her large suitcase. Then, we received a fruit plate sent to our room. It was lovely and helpful. We are guessing it was from him. He went way above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

The hot tubs/spas were not very hot. The hallway where our room was located lacked any kind of decor. This was markedly different from the main hall downstairs. It just looked as if it was forgotten or removed and never replaced. A small thing yet noticed.

I had a great holiday at Hotel Imperial. Hotel location was excellent. My room view was superb and I can not explain how I enjoy the view everyday. Coffee machine at room was great & I appreciate the house keeping and room service. Spa facilities, swimming pool was perfect.

I am not satisfied with the food quality at hotel. I had dinner buffet at my first night and it was not good. The food options was very limited and salads and vegetables was not fresh. I highly recommend to add more international options to the buffet that all travelers can enjoy. I don't give 5 star point to the breakfast also. Breakfast buffet was same everyday, very limited options without quality of 5 star hotel, only one types of eggs and served cold. the staff does not clean the dishes at the table.

The hotel is very beautiful from the outside and offers great views from all sides. The lobby is huge, but somehow it feels cold and unwelcoming in terms of decor. The room is spacious, very beautiful, and beds comfortable. Everything is extremely clean. It has a historic charm, taking us back in time. The hotel was built in 1912. Very interesting, like traveling to the past. The spa is quite small and not relaxing,, with a small Finnish sauna, a relatively small pool, and two Jacuzzis. For a 5-star hotel, this is quite limited. They offer various hydro massages, massages, and treatments with mineral water. This is nice. Breakfast is good, but if I stayed more than two days, it would quickly become boring. For a 5-star hotel, some variety is needed instead of offering the same options as in most other hotels. They have very tasty prosciutto and Champagne for the breakfast , that is cool :) Bus number 15 goes to the city center and is free for hotel guests. We didn’t try the cable car, so we’re not sure how it works.
