Location perfect in the centre of the village and right on the beach. Staff were helpful and friendly Great selection of food for breakfast as was the lunch and dinner. We like to eat out in local tavernas but the hotel did its best with variety. Sea view room was great for view and the bed was very comfortable. I didn’t use air con as early in the season but also a ceiling fan. They have entertainment on an evening and our room was just above but luckily this finishes at 10.00pm

I would say bedroom furniture needs an upgrade , dark brown and dated. The bath towels also ready for upgrade.

First and foremost extreme value for money. Then in front of a beautiful sandy beach, well organized entertainment program, endless buffet with great variety of food and delicious local recipies, extremely friendly personnel willing to assist with anything. Special thanks to the manager, reception, Mathew the trip orginiser and the animation team.

I struggle to find anything, maybe the parking whixh is 100m away from the property but who cares about that when you are on holidays.

First to point out is all the staff - from front desk through restaurant, room service, customer relations manager and of course pool bar guys - they are all welcoming, customer oriented, and treating you as a valuable guest and as a friend at the same time, always ready to assist, keeping smile on at any time. ( I am not picking up names just not to forget anybody). Restaurant: all courses are varied enough, on lunch and dinner always offering something from local cuisine, some fish / seafood options supported with some global classic items and kid's "must have" like pizza :-) Also plenty of vegetable and fruit is available, and yes - ice cream :-) I also recommend to upgrade to All-In Plus to get the best experience like full selection of coctails, international brands of alcohol, unlimited supply of bottled water etc. Also do not miss the travel agency in the lobby - the guy at the counter is very effective providing travel info / advice, no need to necessarily buy something, just use the chance to ask and enhance your stay. Meanwhile, their prices for airport transfer and car rental are competitive. The hotel together with the village offers the right Cretan atmosphere away from large noisy resorts.

NOT a critic: to be noted that the rooms are generaly not extra large and the shower is rather tiny which comes with the fact that this is rather small hotel, not a resort super-size building housing hundreds of people. Still, all photos and descriptions here are representing the real situation.

Kalyves Beach hotel is located away from the noise of big city but with everything that you need to have a good holiday just few steps away. Extremely helpful and professional staff ( everyone was so nice, unfortunately I can’t remember all names but special thanks to reception and bar staff). All inclusive option presents good value for money. GT travel desk opposite reception is worth mentioning. Matthew is very helpful no matter if you want to organise tour, hire the car or just ask what is around.

The view from the hotel was lovely, the beach was very nice too. The room was spacious , upto date and clean.

Some days the food was a bit cold or meats dried out. The meats cooked in vegetables and sauce were delicious though and the selection of salads was good too.

we had such a nice holiday, all the staff is very friendly and engaged, they clean the whole property every day, you can eat and drink as much as you want the whole day, very nice beach and pool area, eating next to the river is very idyllic, we got a free room upgrade, they provide beach towels, there is an evening program every evening and also other activities like yoga and they have a passable gym, we would definitely stay here again

bathroom is small and air conditioning was only cooling a bit but wasn’t a problem since we didn’t stay in the room much anyways having the beach right in front of us

Option to upgrade to all inclusive on arrival. 2 large pools and good access to beach. Bed linen changed every 2 days

Very noisy from 5.30 am with staff clattering about and shouting. Bathroom was tiny Buffet food was only lukewarm warm. Room was clean but dingy No late checkout despite requesting this when I checked in. Was offered a shower in spa area which was tiny cubicle with no lock on door and no ventilation and no where to put belongings- awful experience. Have visited on previous occasions and this was the worst by far. Unlikely to return!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The facilities are fantastic, making it a perfect choice for families, especially those traveling with young children. One of the highlights for us was the indoor pool, which was a lifesaver on days when the weather wasn’t great for the beach. There’s also a well-equipped playground that kept our little ones entertained for hours. In the late afternoon and evening, they set up an inflatable castle with a ball pit — such a fun and thoughtful touch that our kids absolutely loved! And for the adults, the cocktails were absolutely delicious — beautifully made and a great way to relax after a fun-filled day. Highly recommended for a family-friendly getaway!

The buffet is of good quality, though there’s still room for improvement. A bit more variety and attention to detail would take it to the next level.

Unfortunately, the hotel, rooms and food are not 4☆, but it is a good 3☆. The room and the cleanliness of the room for the first entry and impression was not very good, but later during the stay it was ok. The toilet is extremely small and claustrophobic so we used it only with the door open. Certain furniture in the room should be replaced as it does not match a 4☆ hotel.

Good easy location when you rent a car, great to do some trips to Lake Kournas or the Natural park Lovely for small kids, with a sweet animator team and activities every day The beach is wonderful and right at the hotel Food is fresh and good (although on the last day I did get a stomach virus from it) Lovely staff

Not the cleanest of rooms daily, but for the price I was fine with it! It’s soooo worth the price I can imagine it’s chaotic when it’s fully booked, but we were there when it was quite calm and nice
