Great Hotel Ambience; peace and quiet in a beautifully styled and furnished, historical building with a stunning, sprawling garden and spectacular views over the bay. Definitely one of the most beautiful, characterful hotels I have even seen. Lots of shady courtyards, nooks and crannies to read and relax far away from the heat, tourist hassle and condominiums. Mostly excellent food. Wifi is good, 5G reception is better. Great place for remote work. Would happily come again.

Bit of a 15min hike off your cliff into town (it's the logical price for the privacy, peace and views). Staff were very friendly and helpful but seemed just a bit less formally trained than you might expect for a genuine luxury Hotel with the occasional service mishaps here or there. The rooms were simple and nice, but the bathrooms would feel more at home in a quality three star hotel. (Quite clean but not completely spotless, the rare instance of mild odours hanging in the air, fixings were a bit worn here or there). Not quite appropriate for the price point and you'll find a lot of little things to casually complain about but nothing to really spoil your experience.

Beautiful clifftop location with stunning views. Attractive colonial style hotel built around a garden courtyard, always fragrant. Large swimming pool. Wonderful landscaped gardens. Great cuisine. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms.

The hotel does not offer any activities - no yoga, aquafit, no quiz nights, no wine tasting, traditional pot making, no excursions, no bikes for hire. There are no restaurants nearby - you have to go down to the town and there’s a steep walk back up. If you are not on half board, there is nowhere to get a coffee in the hotel until 11am. A 4 star should offer more.

This fabulous hotel looks out over the Atlantic, as did our room (by luck !), so we were pleasantly surprised from the start. It's a converted Canary Island-style building from the colonial era, and it shows, even with some modern touches. You've got wooden floors and ceilings, huge staircases, open spaces, and so many little details. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant, and it was amazing, featuring a blend of authentic and modern flavors. We've had our fair share of classic Canary cookery during our stay, but this was next level.

One thing we would like to address is the swimming pool's opening hours during our stay (from 10:30 to 19:30). Compared to any other hotel we've EVER stayed at, these hours are very restrictive for early birds or night owls. There's no chance to swim before breakfast or after dinner.

The whole ambiance of the property was amazing. We loved the attentiveness of the staff and the cleanliness of the whole resort. The rooms were very spacious including the bathroom. The restaurant and food was beautiful. Breakfast was amazing particularly the fruits. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and bar food the other day and quality of the cooking was fabulous. There is a good selection of wine, cocktails and beer.

The room was spacious but too warm overnight. There was no air conditioning and the fan, which was operated by a switch on the wall, was not over the bed so really didn’t make very much difference. We had two very warm, uncomfortable sleeps. We couldn’t keep the patio doors open as it was too windy and noisy and the doors kept banging. The mattress was very very firm and hard. We’ve left feeling very tired. The hotel is at the top of a very high hill which is best accessed by taxi. To access the town you have to be fairly fit to climb down and up the steps.

We really liked the atmosphere and location. The views were amazing, and the gardens immaculate. The pool area was very clean and well maintained and the hotel as a whole was every bit as good as I had hoped, providing a very traditional feel and the luxury experience I had hoped for. Sitting on the balcony with a coffee in the morning looking across the bay through the swaying palm trees was lovely.

I was extremely disappointed with the 'superior' room that I had booked. The only thing that elevated this room to this category was the view from it's balcony. Having walked through the very impressive courtyard and corridors to reach it, it was a massive disappointment when we opened the door! The furnishings were very basic and rather tatty, with scratched flooring and wonky cupboard doors. When we realised there were no dressing gowns, we requested some at reception and were told 'you should have said you wanted them when you checked in' (which is the first time I've ever been told that and I've stayed in a lot of hotels!) She seemed annoyed by our request, but we did get them eventually. There was a distinct lack of information / customer service which lets this venue down.

The location for us was excellent - perched up the hill overlooking the harbour and town. We are mobile and were able to walk to and from the (charming) town - but it is steep, and anyone with mobility considerations might be needing a short taxi ride. The overall ambience was perfect - spacious, peaceful, friendly but private. Lovely gardens with seating areas for relaxing. Beautiful, quiet courtyards. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good. Lovely lounges, a lovely pool and shady hacienda above. We like to explore, but could have been tempted to stay put there for our whole stay, it was just blissful.

Our only small criticism was breakfast on the last day - for whatever reason they seemed to have been overwhelmed, and there were very many items that had run out, and took a very long time to be (partially) replenished.

My room had great views and was very comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the views were fantastic. I felt breakfast had less variety and than other hotels we stayed at during our trip. The breakfast was not included and the per person price for breakfast was high. There was a coffee maker that was quite tricky to work. After spending 15 minutes to get 1/2 cup of coffee the waitress brought a pot of coffee to the table. The wait staff was friendly and helpful.

Expensive breakfast. Dragging bags up the hill from the ferry was tough! The beautiful pool and hot tub closed at 5 pm. I would have liked it to stay open later.

The room size was generous with a lovely terrace overlooking the ocean, well appointed and comfortable bed. The en-suite bathroom was good with a nice walk in shower. Lovely old building with nice architectural features. The breakfast was well done with a nice selection of choices, as was the dinner which was well cooked and not too expensive. Nice formal dining room with window tables overlooking the gardens. Good wine list. Exceptional size of unheated outdoor swimming pool great to use in the afternoons.

I stayed here for five nights - wanted to stay longer, but the property was sold out. During my stay, I left the property only two times. The hotel has beautiful gardens, magnificent views, a beautiful swimming pool, meaning one can meander around, read, write, etc. in quiet. The only real noise is that of the Canary Islands winds and an occasional ship docking at the island's main port below the hotel. My room was on the first floor, just above the main entry cloister, and had a spectacular view of the garden and the sea. Sumptuous buffet breakfast, which was included in my room rate. The dinner menu offers a good choice of local cuisine; prices are appropriate for the property standard. Lovely bar with outdoor or indoor seating. I'm dreaming of returning!

As noted by other contributors, there was a slight odor of sewage near my bathroom. I am sure that the hotel is addressing this based on other feedback. In any event, it wasn't so powerful for me to complain to the management.

Excellent food, friendly staff including advice with organising hire car. Spacious room and bathroom, well thought out decor with excellent balcony and sea view. Tranquil surroundings including fine gardens, peaceful courtyards and

Service in the dining room was a bit chaotic at times, despite hardworking staff, suggesting in sufficient numbers and/or lack of manager supervising
