The hotel was really good value for money in a nice location very close to the artisanal market in Quito. You can walk to the Old Town etc in around 20-30 minutes, or the Hop On, Hop Off bus stops at the market which is just one block away. The staff were all very friendly and the main reception staff all spoke good English. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice double bed and good shower room. The wifi works well and there is a small desk and chair in the room. For the price paid, the hotel was perfect for my needs and I had no complaints. The building itself is fabulous, with amazing murals on the wall.

Breakfast could have been a little more generous - scrambled eggs and a single slice of toast only. No juice or alternatives to tea/coffee offered.

Very artistic and unique decor with a warm, welcoming and homey feel to it. Friendly and helpful staff, they were nice enough to give me a boxed breakfast when I had to leave too early in the morning for excursions.

The room didn’t have its own heating so they gave me a cute fireplace-like space heater. The shower needs to run for some time before the water comes out warm enough.

Everything! The villa (impressive building), the location (nice, quiet, safe area), the architecture and decoration, the rooms, the breakfast - above all the staff!!!! Diego, Betty, Freddie and (hope i dont kill the name) Guajira go over and above to help out and make one’s stay as comfortable as it gets. This is really the place to call - and feel like you are - home in Quito for a traveler. This is where I m returning to next time in Quito, no searching.

I loved my stay in this grand old house with thick walls and stone fireplaces. The room was clean and basic with a good bed. The staff where exceptionally friendly and helpful. Freddy the concierge is a treasure. Diago the manager is a great guy (both spoke good English). All staff went out of their way to help me and where honest and transparent. I came by Hotel taxi transfer which was painless. This was my first days in Ecuador; it was a great welcome, and an exceptionally professional service.

The street is not noisy by Quito standards but if you want more peace ask for a room at the back of the hotel. The gate is locked at night. From midnight until 8am I had to wake staff to come and go out so I felt bad about that.

I booked this last minute when my original booking fell through, and it was such a good choice. I was greeted by name when I came in, heavy luggage whisked upstairs to a cosy under the eaves bedeoom. The room was cosy and comfortable, the bed super comfortable. I loved the old, artistic vibe of the place. I was surprised by a delicious breakfast. and all in all felt totally looked after. I highly recommend staying here. I will be back.

The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. Decor was fun & elaborate, but also homey in the lounge area, where one night there was an open fire. There were spa services on site and I had a very good and reasonably priced massage. Location was great for walking to the mercantile, park and restaurants.

My room was cold and dark and the shower did not drain efficiently.

Excellent historical house in central Quito. The rooms were very clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were really friendly.

It's an older house so the soundproofing is a bit lacking on windows. However the neighborhood is very quiet at night.

If you get tired of the business style hotels, this is best place to stay in Quito. Very unique boutique hotel, with amazing atmosphere of a historic mansion. The way how staff treats you was far above our expectations. They will make your stay very comfortable and memorable. We were very happy that we found this place where we felt like home. Lovely old colonial style house with huge communal areas and fabulous painted walls. Very friendly and accommodating staff who always had a smile on their faces and were full of top tips for things to do.

The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the shower unit in the bathroom. It’s quite claustrophobic. If they could change these for something more open, that would make the place even better.

The historic building, the decor, the grounds and location in La Mariscal. You’re a block away from the Artisan market and close to several bars and restaurants. The staff was lovely and the breakfast was excellent. Thank you!
