We were impressed. We arrived on the last day of Carnavale in Baranquilla so Santa Marta was very busy. From the mixed reviews when the hotel opened, they have obviously now found the right staff and have trained them well. Being greeted in English with warmth by Hendry and Cheuff was a wonderful beginning to our stay. When Hendry was off for a couple of days Cheuff stepped up and handled all kinds of needs we and others had. Our housekeeper did a superb job each morning. The man who handled the breakfast buffet check-in seemed to be learning more English every day & certainly his warm service was appreciated. We were pleased with the breakfast buffet, changed every day with offerings for every taste. We enjoyed the pool; it was small but large enough as few people used it, so each afternoon when we went up there were lounges available, no one in the water, delicious drinks on offer, and delicious eggplant casserole available at the pool bar. As for the room: it was a delight to have so much space (King Ocean View room), very comfortable bed & excellent linens, lights that worked, and a shower that came on hot immediately and drained out properly without soaking the rest of the bathroom….a rare thing in Colombia. Loved the excellent grocery market across the street where you can buy all the foodstuff you’ve been craving.

It’s not a matter of ‘not liking’ but the state of the art parking garage (we’ve only seen once before in Germany) takes a bit of practice to use the robotic system. Originally intended to have a full time valet, but so few cars are being driving by guests (5 while we were there) that there is no valet. However, the staff comes quickly and manages things. Certainly the cars were safe!

Liked Breakfast, the view of the pool at the 17th floor, staff is well trained

We were a large group for a wedding and key card only gave us access to our 5th floor. When we needed something form a memeber of the group on another floor we could not visit their floor. Had to go down to reception and have them grant us access to other floors. The pool had the music volume way too high. That is typical of the locals on Santa Marta but should not be permitted. We had to ask them to lower it so we could talk. Wasn't too crazy about the shower floor, it's flat with a little decline so dispite my best efforts, water did slip onto the bathroom floor. I'm being quite peeky cause generally speaking ot is a good hotel. Service was exceptional. Card keys didn't work well for my children but staff was quick to respond.

The hotel is nicely located near the marina so we could easily walk to the centrer were all the bars and restaurants are. Comfortable beds and nice breakfast options.

The rooftop and the pool are quite small and its not always easy to find a place to sit. The gym could be a bit better equiped to provide a better variety of trainings except cardio. Apart from that, all was good.

The location was good. The room was in good size with good view because we took ocean view room. The bed was big and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The security people downstairs were helpful to call a taxi at anytime.

They forgot to put new towels everyday though they took old ones. The rooftop pool was always packed. It was smaller than we expected.

It is close to the central market for shopping and the breakfast was really good.The pool on the 17th floor is amazing and relaxing as well.

If you are going for a beach experience stay at the other Hilton at Rodadero. The beaches next to this one are small and not that great.

I really loved the room. It was clean, spacious and sound proof. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was also very clean and nice. The pool area was beautiful and we enjoyed it multiple days. The location is also very well located, close to many restaurants walking distance.

The food is ok overall but could be better.

Nice hotel, comfortable / modern room, nice rooftop lounge and pool area, security guard at entrance, very pleasant and helpful staff. Located a few blocks from the beginning of the main tourist area on quiet, darker streets.

I liked the privacy and the modern building.

the swimming pool was closed and there were no previous notification of this. If we knew it beforehand we would’ve cancelled and booked somewhere else.

The breakfast was good. the room faced the ocean. proximity to bolivar park and a nice morrocan restaurant called Marrakech

48,000 pesos for a hamburger in colombia is too much but on the bright side if you use rappy if youve downloaded to your phone

I needed medical attention. The very friendly and compassionate staff made sure a medical team came within minutes. They also followed up with providing me with everything I needed. I felt in very safe hands. The hotel was also extremely comfortable, breakfast was absolutely delicious and the hotel had all the amenities you could wish for. A big thank you to the Hilton!
