The views from the room were excellent. It was a relaxing stay between Portugal and home. Dinner delicious. Breakfast great.

The bed was extremely hard and, for me, uncomfortable.

The breakfast was ok typical Spanish breakfast. We hadn't realised the dining room was open other than for breakfast as it wasnt properly explained to us. We ate in the bar area which was adequate, but it didnt open until 8.30 pm. The room was basic but lovely overlooking the river, Ayamonte and Vila Real. It's our 2nd visit and we think were given the same room.

Perhaps if we had been advised as to the dining room facility. It was a weird way of entering and we only saw this on our last night, after eating in the bar, inside the premises. Why the breakfast room is not used for lunch and dinner, goodness only knows. As members of the Parador, I suddenly remembered we are normally given a glass of wine on our arrival. This did not happen so I enquired at reception if that was still the policy. I was told it was but it was too late for us to accept their offer, so instead, we had two bottle of water.

Excellent location, excellent staff and great meals. The scenery at Ayamonte is superb with great areas to enjoy near the pool and the bar. Visits to Isla Cristina (Spain) and San Antonia (Portugal) recommended.

We had room 207 ... WC needs to be checked. Please repair: cistern flush button and toilet seat fitting. Suggest statutory check list (daily + weekly). Other than these minor faults ... We had a very nice well equipped room.

everything was top class once we arrived.

Gates were locked when we arrived and we were unable to raise any response from the hotel to begin with. It was not clear if any communication from the gate was actually happening. We eventually got out of the car and attempted to open the gates manually. This was not a problem but we were suddenly aware of an individual running down the hill towards us shouting and waving his arms. He continued to be abusive and accused us of breaking the gates! (which we clearly had not.) He continued to be rude even when we got into the reception. We arrived too late in the evening for dinner. No offer of either room service or anything else was made and when we got to our room around midnight there was no coffee making facility available.

The views from the terrace and room were amazing. Loved the pool and the breakfast. Spacious lounge area with again best views.

Bathroom could do with a make over. Friendly staff all around, reception a little formal though and could be a bit more welcoming in my view.

Excellent hotel. All staff from Reception, Domestic and Bar staff always very helpful and pleasant. Our room and bathroom always cleaned to a high standard. Thoroughly recommend the Paradore.

That we had to leave.

View from the room was fantastic, looking across the estuary to Portugal. Very spacious pleasant room with a seating area. Large bathroom with a great shower. Steps down from the room directly onto a lawned area by the pool. Pleasant bar area with views overlooking the estuary and an outside terrace.

Unfortunately the bed was VERY uncomfortable, with an extremely hard, old looking mattress. My husband was so uncomfortable he had to sleep on the sofa.

We definitely liked the view. Our room was great and immaculate. It was cleaned daily. We did not have breakfast but heard from other guests that the breakfast was NOT value for money and was of poor quality.

This is the third time we have stayed at the Parador in Ayamonte. It is a great hotel and everyone extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing we were not happy with was the menu in the restaurant which had not changed on each occasion we have been at the hotel. There was very little choice and every time we asked for the duck that was on the menu we were told that this was not available. This has happened on each occasion we have stayed at the hotel. If it is not always available, then why have it mentioned on the menu? We both had the steaks which were not really appetizing at all and a disappointment considering the price of the meal. However, again the staff were really great.

Very good location. Prominent position overlooking the river with spectacular views. Room was a good size, with good amenities and another excellent view. Staff were helpful and friendly. Restaurant was also good.

Air conditioning in the room did not work, but did not really affect our stay.

Spectacular location with stunning views of Portugal and the Guadiana river. Loved the outdoor spaces watching the sunset.

Bathroom could do with an upgrade starting to feel a little dated
