Fantastic location with easy access to the metro and the Gothic quarter as well as La Ramblas and La Boqueria. Great staff, Ivan in particular was great and provided a warm welcome with plenty of information about the city and places to visit. Room was small but comfortable. Cleaning service options available were great - could choose how much cleaning was desired each day. Small but nice selection at breakfast.

Bathroom was too small and shower too close to toilet. When showering, water spilled into the bathroom even with towel on floor, likely because shower doors not completely sealed at bottom. USB power plug above bed didn’t work and the AC was too cold even when we tried to reduce it. even though the cleaning choice selected included sweeping the floor, it is unclear if this was done as the floor was still dirty. Replacement towel was not provided when taken away by housekeeping and needed to be requested at reception.

The location of Hostal Marenostrum is perfect! It's right by the metro station which will get you basically anywhere you want in Barcelona. It is also right by the Gothic quarter so coming back to the accommodation after a whole day of wandering about the quarter was a quick walk back :) Ivan at the reception was an exceptional welcome in the city. He showed us all the places first-time travellers in Barcelona should see and also recommended us places to have some good churros. We had a private room for two which was slightly small but more than enough for those few days we stayed.

Hotel is located in the city center, right beside main street of Las Ramblas. You can reach most of the attractions on foot but the metro station is literally 1 minute away from the hotel. Our room was small but we only stayed there for one night so it wasn't a problem. Everything was nite and clean. If you arrive before check-in time, there is no problem with storing your luggage. The hotel has a large, locked luggage room. Ivan, the receptionist, deserves special praise as he was very nice and helpful. He speaks many languages ​​fluently, including Polish :)

There are many bars and restaurants in the area around the hotel, so it's quite noisy in the evening and at night. If you're sensitive to sounds, you should get earplugs :)

We had a very good experience staying at Mare Nostrum. The hostel was located next to a metro station at de La Rambla, which made it very easy to get to the hostel with our luggage. The hostel also offered the possibility to leave our luggage at the hostel after our check out time, so we could go to the city centre while we waited for our flight.

The room was very compact and had all the facilities you need for a short stay. Though, I wouldn't recommend staying at this hostel for longer than a couple of days. But overall, we were very positive about out experience.

The location was great the metro station is literally 10m away, the stuff was welcoming and kind, the breakfast more than sufficient and the rooms convenient enough for two people. They also provided us with a 10% discount coupon (plus welcome drink) for the resto downstairs which btw was really good and vfm.

Quite noizy during the night. We ran out of handwash but it was never refilled (we did not ask for a refill tbh, however they did not check). Our bathroom was provided only with a fixed cealing-mount shower head, so in case you are a woman with long hair and you do not want to make them wet every time you take a shower, you will definitely need a shower cap. The third day we asked our towels to be renewed but they did not do so (maybe because we had to leave the next day - but the towels were overused and should have been replaced).

Location, location, location! The best part. Right in fronb of the Liceu Metro statio on the "La Ramblas" which connects the entire city very well. Wonderful view from the balcony! Very clean property. Super friendly and supportive staff. My special mention to Mr. Evan!:) Best for solo backpackers or weekend trips as there's no place to keep luggage although they have cleverly utilised one corner space by creating a cabinet kind of thing. Not all rooms are same so better to take into account the room size before booking. Overall the property is recommended to go for!

The receptionists were very nice ladies. I was a bit afraid to leave my luggage before check-in but it is stored locked away, 100% secure. Everyone was nice and polite, the staff at breakfast and cleaning staff as well. Breakfast was not super rich but it was definitely enough. I would have appreciated some fresh vegetables myself. The room was small but very smartly designed. You have everything you might need and everything was clean! I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't bothered by any noise from the street. The location is super convenient!

Honestly the first impression is a bit scary and I think the price could be a bit lower for what is offered. The beds were OK but I wouldn't want to stay and sleep on them all week.My sleep wasn't disturbed but I can imagine if the hotel is full you can be bothered by noise from neighbours or the hallway.

I can start with the stuff where all of them were very friendly and willing to help. Ivan in the reception was amazingly helpful and happy person to chat for info around Barcelona! They were cleaning the room every day. The location was great for walks in the old city! I will definitely recommend and book it again!

Rooms were smaller than I thought, but they were clean.

The location is almost in the middle of La Rambla, so you can go easily by foot, metro, or bus to any objective. The guests speaks many languages, are very kind and friendly. It has one USB A plug to charge your phone above the bad. Also we had a view of La Rambla from our room which was great.

The bathroom is a little small to my comfort, but you can manage for the few days you are staying.

We enjoy Hostal Marenostrum, close to areas we enjoy frequently as we pop into Barcelona four times a year- all seasons.

It is difficult when we have a large suitcase with us, as we fly in and out of BCN and train to our second home in Southern France. We stay 90 days and bring things in and out. Stairs are getting more difficult for both husband and myself.
