After seeing reviews yet having booked, I was quite wary but was pleasantly surprised! Contrary to reviews, we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay at this hotel (yes its a hostel but decent facilities). The staff were very agreeable and helpful! It is not luxurious or anything, but its clean, neat and does the job with a very good location and price. We didn't have any noise or smell or cleanliness problems (there was a courtyard outside our room, so there was music and talking into late night and morning but its kind of like background noise for us). Not recommended for people who have trouble with stairs (very narrow stairs to enter the reception and the lift is super slow and only availablefrom the receptionon first floor).

Stairs are quite narrow and lift is quite slow but overall we didn't mind that so much! (Barcelona has a lot of stairs anyway!). Also it was advertised as AC but no remote (I'm sure you can ask for it though). We just kept the window open and slept though it was a little hot! Be warned for summer months !

The location is perfect if your mission is to enjoy the sights of the Gothic Quarter. The Liceu metro stop is only a block away right in the middle of Las Ramblas. We encountered a challenge checking into the hotel, but the staff at Hotel Palermo went above and beyond to rectify the situation. The morning of our arrival, the previous night's guest had broken the door to our room. It took the staff longer than expected to locate and install a new door, so we didn’t get into our room until almost 5 PM. Despite this, the staff worked diligently to accommodate us. They held our luggage all day so we could tour Barcelona, repeatedly apologized, and surprised us with a nice cold bottle of champagne once we finally got into our room. I highly recommend a stay at Hotel Palermo.

The room was quite small😕, while the location was absolutely fantastic. It was just a 2-minute walk from the Liceu Metro Station and only 7 minutes from Plaza Catalunya. Everything was within walking distance, including cafes, lounges, and shops. The best part was the staff – everyone was extremely friendly, polite, and always ready to help with any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this hotel for its great location and excellent service!

The location is great, in the middle of an old town, very close to the metro and bus stop, and all main sightseeing places are in walkable distance (from 5 to 30 mins) The staff is very friendly and super helpful. The room was cleaned very well daily. It wasn't as noisy as we expected. Actually it was very quiet, maybe that depends on neighbours and/or room location. The air-condition was also very quiet.

The room was tiny and veryyyyy old. The bed or the matrass was annoyingly squeaky.

Very disappointed with the staff in reception who booked a taxi for us and was to collect us in time to get to the bus to the airport. Ten minutes after the time of the arrival the person in the reception said the taxi was not coming and go out on the street and get one ourselves. Numerous taxied would not take us to the bus stop. Eventually when we did get a taxi it was too late and missed our bus. We had to get another taxi to the airport 120€

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Being able to leave the key with the staff at all times was great. They called a taxi for us in the morning. It was so small and cute and I just really loved it and I thought it was very nice.

Walls are a bit thin. It's definitely a bit barebones but endearing.

Great location, very friendly, accomidating & helpful staff. This isn't a complaint, the room was small - but that's the norm in many European cities, especially if you're in one of the older areas. I'm just mentioning it so that anyone planning to book here is aware. I was fine with it myself.

The one very minor complaint was that there were some somewhat noisy neighbours - but it wasn't bad; even if you're not loud, at night the sound will carry.

The fact that there is always someone there, the location is very central and the rooms are cleanly, sufficiently stocked. There is also a terrace on the room which is particularly useful for smokers. It's also about 10 seconds walk from the famous Ramblas Street, and about 20 seconds away from the entrance to Liceu metro station.

No major dislikes. Only thing to note is that you return your room card every time you leave the hotel, which was never a problem for me. The area is very busy and during the day with everything a tourist could want, however late at night (post midnight), the area does become a little shady, so it's worth factoring this into your decision if you like to be out into the early hours...

Perfect location! Walkable to sightseeing, great restaurants, and multiple metro stations. Staff members were all so kind and let you store luggage pre-check in or post-check out. Room was small but very functional, and appreciated the updated bathroom and modern look/feel.

I assumed so going in, but for the twin room there is no closet and limited floor space to store luggage, so pack lightly!

Most of all, i liked the kindness and professionalism of the staff. The huys at the reception are the real deal. . Second point : the room was very clean 3d ; Itns located in the very heart of the city 4th : there's always someone at the front desk 24h / 7, which is rare these days ...

I understand the comments about the rooms being small. I was all by myslef and i took a double one and it was ok. The equipment is not the best in the room but after all, when you're in Barcelona you're almost never in the hotel
