This is a little hotel one block from the boardwalk and two blocks from La Rambla, good location if you want to be close to the beach and the gothic quarter. There is a walking distance to some historic attractions, lots of grocery stores and a convenient/reliable metro transportation. The hotel is quiet during the night, there is very little noise from the streets below. The room I had was not very spacious (not bad for Europe though), but enough for me traveling solo, I suppose it would be okay for two as well. It was recently renovated, clean, with very comfortable bed (really important to me), shower stall rather than a bath tub (another plus), a teapot area with a mini fridge and a very quiet air conditioning system!. The room was well equipped for this size accommodation. Housekeeping services and breakfast were offered every day, with breakfast for additional six euro. The breakfast was pretty good with selection of cold meat, some cheese, a few choices of bread and cereal, little desserts, fresh fruit, coffee/tea/drink of your choice- much better than continental and somewhat below a full breakfast, there were no hot dishes. All staff were nice and professional, willing to help and accommodate my requests. In short, good hotel that I would stay at again and recommend it to a friend.

The hotel met my needs and expectations.

The room was available when we went to store our bags, so we were able to check in early. The room was very spacious. Good air conditioning. Tea station in the room was a nice touch. Good location, close to lots of things (port end) but far enough away that not too noisy.

Reception staff was a little hard to read, but I think he just has a dry sense of humor as he did help us in the end. Some strange smells but I think that might just be 2,000 year old city life. Pillows were too soft (but we get this everywhere). Some disruption from people talking outside the room late.

Very convenient location and great price. Close to the metro. The room as expected was small but was very clean and comfortable for a solo traveller. I would recommend breakfast somewhere else though as the choice of food and quantity is limited but is to be expected. The staff are lovely, especially by Marcello and Roberto who gave me great tips about things to do in Barcelona and answered any questions I had (including a good bakery that sell Easter eggs which I am taking back to the uk) I would stay here again without a doubt Mucho gracias, till we meet again

The location of the hotel was ideal as it only took me a few minutes to reach the city centre. I travelled on my own and the room was clean and comfortable to spend the nights there. I also felt quite safe as there was always someone at the reception.

I usually had my windows closed during the night because of the sometimes unpleasant smell from the street. But that's something that the hotel can't control. :)

I came home early at night as a solo female as the first night someone was following me. Because it is on a quiet street it didn’t feel safe to be out late at night.

Located in the Rambla district of Barcelona, this is a small, clean, well run hotel in one of the many small alleyways that make up this area, the nearest metro stop being Drassanes. The room was small but spotlessly clean, with a fridge, safe, desk with chair and bathroom with a large shower. Perfectly located for exploring the old town and just a 5 minute walk to the harbour. I didn't have their breakfast, instead opting to use a small food shop a couple of doors away. You are within a few minutes walk of numerous fast food, restaurant and convenience store outlets. I travelled out of season and I think the price I paid was very reasonable. Don't be put off by its one star rating, I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel.

I was travelling alone, so ended up in a single bedded room next to the lift shaft. A bit of noise from the lift in the evenings, but not enough to spoil my stay.

We had a good experience. It was really good for the price. Elevator available. Location is good. Room is clean. The receptionist is friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a good location, it was not difficult to find. The service was pleasant and fast, I arrived earlier than it was possible to check into the room, so I left my things in the luggage room. The room itself was comfortable, not big but it had everything you could need: a fridge, a wardrobe with hangers, a hairdryer. The room was very cozy and bright with a comfortable bed.

The walls of the room were extremely thin, so you could hear people in the next room. I got a room right next to the elevator, so when people were using it, you could hear everything. This is the only negative thing about this hotel for me, maybe I was just unlucky with the room.

Only stayed one night on a work trip. Hotel Canton had everything I required. Friendly and efficient staff at reception on arrival. Clean, comfortable, good shower, WiFi. etc. Everything provided tea, shampoo, body wash were all eco friendly. Refill cold, filtered water was available. I chose to have breakfast at 6 euros. Usual adequate buffet selections. Well presented and very clean and tidy dining area. Great location in a quiet street just off La Ramblas. I would definitely consider staying here again on future trips.

Some noisy guests in a nearby room but that has to be allowed for in a busy city.

Very central location. Close to La Rambla and great restaurants further up the street left out of the front door (Colom and Made in Sicily). La Cataluyna Aerobus stop is about a 15 min walk straight down La Rambla. Drassanes Metro station a 5 minute walk. Clean hotel. Fridge, hairdryer, toiletries etc in the room.

. A smile wouldn't kill the receptionists! . Only 1 English/American channel on TV...CNN. . No external noise heard but could hear the man in the next room snoring...not the hotels fault. However, in room 102, could hear the toilet flushing loudly above the room.
