Excellent location. 20 min walk from Plaza de España where the airport bus stops. Many tapas bars, supermarkets, and takeaways are around the corner, yet it is quiet. A few minutes walk to the metro station. Within half an hour walk to many tourist attractions and the sea. The bed is comfortable. Free breakfast and all-day hot drinks. Organised activities in the evenings, though I didn't join. Staff is kind and friendly.

One blanket only on the bed is a bit cold for winter stay. The other guests kept the window open, saying the room was too hot, which didn't help.

Beds with privacy curtains, comfortable mattresses, clean sheets, clean toilets/showers. Room layout was great- sleeping room & bathroom were separated by a door, so it wouldn’t bother whoever is asleep. Complimentary breakfast (mostly croissants, cupcakes, etc.). Common room in the basement with a small outside patio. Friendly staff.

I stayed in May with outside temps around 17-22C. We did leave the balcony door open otherwise the room got too stuffy/hot. There was an AC unit inside, but not sure if it was on or not. Regardless, room lacked ventilation if the outside door wasn’t open.

It was my 3rd time in Barcelona and staying in a hostel and it was the best hostel so far. Clean, great location - close the Metro station, easy to get from/to airport and 25 minutes walk only to the port. Nice staff, complimentary breakfast - some pastry, bread, jam, apples. I could also leave my luggage on the checkout day as my flight was in the evening.

The only downside was that every night some of the people were snoring in my room - I was in 6 bed room - of course that’s not the hostel fault. I wish people were more considerate 😅

I have the most positive experience of staying at Mambo Tango! First of all, it was thanks to the super friendly and helpful administrators available 24/7. The hostel’s location is great, close to metro, cable car, within a walking distance to the main sites. The bed was super comfortable and neat, and you could have privacy and uninterrupted sleep with the curtains that make your bed your completely personal space. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Showers were probably quite small, but it wasn’t a big deal. There’s a large living room to hang out and a kitchen equipped with literally everything downstairs from the reception. You can have a coffee/tea/water any time; and filter coffee was sooo good! Moreover, they serve a complimentary “small” breakfast every day which is more than enough - coffee, milk, toasts with jam, fruit, various pastries… I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back!

Just one thing to add - would be nice to have place to hang the clothes and towels to dry

Cosy rooms, curtains on beds give privacy, locking drawers, lamps and little shelves above each bed, AC keeping the room fresh, free breakfast, tea/coffee with different types of milk, kitchen, laundry room, little courtyard, friendly and welcoming staff always at reception, nice location

Cleaning of bathrooms is not bad but it’s not great either, some hair was stuck on the shower door a few days in a row. Also the shower turns off almost every 10 seconds (due to drought in the area), so it’s really hard even to put soap on yourself before the water shuts down again. I understand needing to limit the water but I think 10 seconds is insane, should be at least a minute or 30 seconds as a bare minimum, it’s impossible to wash hair. Also would be great to have a little shelf on the bathroom wall opposite the shower, not just the hooks (to put your telephone, etc)

Very helpful staff, especially Abraham from the reception. The number of bathrooms is enough, hairdryer available, small breakfast and tea/coffee available in the morning, you can rent lockers to the storage space under the bed and towels. The localisation is great, with metro station nearby and relatively close to the beach and attractions.

The facilities look old and could use some renovation, the beds in the room I stayed in were metal and produced noise easily. On the side note, people I stayed with in the room constantly opened the balcony for the night and the placement of my bed made the cold air from outside flow despite having the bed curtain shut, so I caught a cold, luckily only on the last day of my stay.

Great hostel, many tourists attractions are located on a walking distance (okay, I walked daily an average 30 km lol however nearest metro 2 minutes walking for non walkers, clean bedsheets, clean towels, free coffee & tea, good shower rooms, clean toilets, cute small delicious breakfast, very comfortable resting room with variety of games and great music, very helpful employees at the reception, safe and secured place with the same safe neighbourhood regardless the time of the day or night, comfortable female dormitory where each bed has curtains - electrical plug - lamp - secured luggage place, especially grateful to your amazing receptionists for supporting me after I returned very sad from Barca Vs PSG game...I am giving you 10 stars from 10! Conveniently located near the bus line and the metro, with plenty of affordable restaurants, bars, and grocery stores nearby. Rooms were very clean and the common area was comfortable and had a fun look. The free breakfast was a nice surprise as well. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. My towel blew off the drying line outside and the staff washed it for me and loaned me a towel for free while it dried.

If you are in one of the bunks close to the door, it's a little tight when people are coming in and out and you're using your storage drawer. It was also pretty warm in our room overnight (we stayed in early May) and we couldn't agree on keeping the balcony door open because of the noise from the neighbors. A small tower fan might solve this?

Mambo Tango exceeded expectations! The reviews were lower than some of the other hostels in Barcelona so I was hesitant but it was better than all the reviews made me expect. We had a really nice private room that was clean and the bed was comfy. The continental breakfast was great and unexpected because the listing didn't include breakfast but the continental breakfast was as nice as the breakfasts we had at places that listed breakfast included. Also the location was perfect! It is a 2 minute walk from a really cool restaurant lined street and right next to the smallest bar in Barcelona! The staff were very nice and accommodating.

Everything went so smoothly! Nothing I didn't like.

Location of the property was great, near lots of public transport making it easy to go sightseeing Was a quiet hostel my room wasn’t filled only had four other girls in which was great. Free WiFi works amazing from room three and staff were lovely giving recommendations and felt safe at all times there. Great as a female solo traveller.

Metal frame of the bunk beds very loud, storage locker is underneath the beds this would be useful having these separate as they are very loud opening and closing and can disturb others. Room can be very hot at times and we had a little door you could open for fresh air, only issue with this is neighbours are noisy at night think. Better solution like a fan or air on would be useful as it was only May can’t imagine the heat in the summer.
