Pamplona was a quick stop for us; we just wanted to see it on the way to see our family. This hotel was a very nice surprise. From the moment my husband and I walked in, the staff and owner were kind and accommodating--we were greeted in a memorable way, and a staff member parked our car for us. This hotel is charming and elegant and it has a lot of history. It is also in a perfect location for walking around Pamplona--the route for the running of the bulls begins right nearby. Our room was very comfortable with a wonderful shower, and we enjoyed an elegant breakfast downstairs.

Great location in the “casco viejo”, on the “plaza del Castillo” and its famous cafes. Close by the “Calle de la Estafeta “, the Cathedral, the “Iglesia de San Saturnino “ (a must go). You can also go by foot to the department store the “Corte Ingles” . Great interior decoration For info : Hemingway stayed at the hotel and used to go to the “Café Iruña” where you can find the Hemingway corner. Great staff, wonderful service The valet parking : The hotel private parking space inside the public car park under the “plaza del Castillo”.

The room lit by skylights

The hotel is excellently placed on the main square. The old town and sites of interest are within easy walking distance. There are also plenty of restaurants close by. On arrival, our car was taken to the secure parking area and we were helped with our luggage. The room and bed were very comfortable, and with an excellent bathroom with two showers!

The breakfast was slightly unusual, with waitress service. That said freshly cooked food was available and the breakfast was more than adequate. If driving to the hotel, have faith in your satnav as it iis reached via restricted road zones!

This was our second stay at this hotel. It’s best feature is its staff. Ha sido un placer Señor Daniel! Your personable welcome warmed our hearts. This historic but interiorly modernized hotel, operated over time by multiple generations, breathes Hemingway, the running of the bulls, and is decorated with the opulent costumes of celebrated matadors past. Located in the heart of the city it is an easy walk to historic sites. There is secure parking for your car. Elevator to the upper floors and your capacious room waiting for you. We will be back.

Location is fantastic on the Plaza del Castillo. Everything is easily walkable. The rooms are beautiful with a lovely balance of modern and traditional design elements. Property appeared very fresh without any peeling paint or stains on the carpet. Staff could not have been more friendly, kind, and accommodating. They made everything easy and did it with a smile. I liked that the hotels windows blocked out the street noise completely. Beds are also phenomenally comfortable. We truly had a delightful stay.

The hotel was beautiful, right in the heart of the old town, overlooking the street where the bulls run during the festival. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic.

The parking was expensive and it turned out, was in the public carpark close to the hotel. What you were paying for, was for them to park your car for you, but we arrived on motorbikes so had to park then ourselves, and could have done that for half the price! However, you live and learn and we weren't aware ahead of time. Overall, it was a great stay.

I arrived in Pamplona and was very ill with bronchitis and needed to stay somewhere where I could recuperate so I could continue walking the camino and found the only 5 star hotel in the city. The location was fantastic as my balcony looked over the square and there was non stop activity entertaining me as I wasn’t able to go whilst I was so ill. The room was luxurious and the bath was sensational!!! Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

No restaurant or room Service

La Perla was our first real contact with Spanish hospitality; this overthrew all preconceptions of standoffishness. Front desk staff could not do enough for us! The public areas of the hotel are beautifully kept and feature the work of local artisans for sale, images of the rich and famous who patronised the hotel, and historic bullfighting artefacts. Our room was well-appointed with view to a back street which is part of the Encierro. Breakfast was generous, with cold and hot components. The breakfast room was well-served by a few staff members at this slow time of year. At a room rate which was discounted by 40%, we couldn’t look past this grand old hotel on Pamplona’s main square.

When I asked my husband if there was anything he didn’t like about LGHLP, he said “There was too much cheese at breakfast.”

In beautiful Pamplona nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees you find this gem of a hotel. On the main square in an antique building and thoroughly and opulently modernized on the inside. Right next to the street through which the famous bull run takes place. Restaurants, shops, cafes, monuments are all within steps from the hotel. Outstanding and courteous staff providing service and making guests feel welcome. The room was tastefully decorated. There were no obstacles to this walking impaired writer. We were provided with a chance to see the Three Kings Parade from a balcony overlooking the square. A thoughtful and much appreciated offer. For their kindness we thank Daniel, Mary, and their colleagues. We hope to return soon.

Great location on a large plaza close to the bullring. Quaint old hotel with a nice atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful and the valet parking a plus after a long drive. The hotel is in a pedestran area with limited car access but the staff gave very explict instuctions and it was not a problem. Our room had a very large shower with body jets and a view over the street the bulls run down. Plenty of good resturaunts in the plaza and surrounding areas.
