The location was good, near the marketplace and within a reasonable walking distance from the Olavinlinna castle. The price was reasonable given that it was during the opera festival in town. It’s a nice old building that normally serves as a student dorm. The restaurant across the street where they breakfast was served was super clean even though it hosted a rock concert on its yard the night before. (The concert ended already at 9:30pm btw; the area was very quiet during the night)

It was a hot day so air conditioning would have been nice. Staff is only around between 10am and 8pm. We had prepaid our room so we just dropped the keys at the desk when we left at 9am, but if we hadn’t, it might have been an issue.

The price of the accommodation met the quality reasonably well. The buffet style breakfast included the basic things such as bacon, coffee, bread, salad and porridge. The shower and the WC were in good condition on arrival. Possibility to cook your own food with stove/oven was nice surprise.

Since the Willa is pretty old and historical construction there were only few power sockets available in the room and they were placed in a bit challenging places. However, if you have a normal length power cable for example for your laptop, the sockets could be reached with a little crawling under the bed. The fridge would have been nice to have in the room, but since this was a hotel accommodation I didn't find it mandatory.

Pleasant surprise for the price paid - nice room with a small kitchen and sitting area; fan for hot summer nights. Located in a historical building (former hospital) in a quiet area just stone's throw away from the main market square and restaurants. Amazing staff, going above and beyond - after learning our checkout is before the official breakfast time, arranged fruits and sandwiches to be delivered to our fridge the night before.

Old wooden house, that has been a hospital in the early 1900's, has a bit of the old atmosphere left, with its long corridors and 4m high rooms, big windows etc. Really central location, just 5 min walk from the central market, in a park next to the lake, nice view to the city and the castle. Swimming places and a swimming hall in the immediate vicinity. In the room everything worked, the bed was good, lots of storage room for clothes etc. The opera season had ended, so the price was reasonable.

During the school term, this is a student house and the room is not something you would expect from a "boutique hotel", although it is marketed as one. The room has a small kitchenette, but without serving and cooking equipment, except a kettle and a fridge. There is no A/C, only a fan. Room got quite warm and we kept the windows open during the night. It was quiet, however be aware that nearby is a Huwila restaurant organising concerts in the garden just 100-200m away. Wifi was not the best in the room.

This is not a boutique hotel, but a student dormitory. Name is misleading. Hotel services are practically non-existent if you need more than just B&B.

we got a very special room with a loft bed and a small stove with an oven which we used for the evening meal. The breakfast was plentiful with a very good croissant in a nearby restaurant.

The hotels location is great and the hotel hast a lot of charme. Beds (very comfy) and other furniture are new but kitchen area in the room and bathrooms are older. Great breakfast.

Could have been a bit cleaner but our need with a crawling baby currently is also rather high.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left this hotel and specifically its staff were truly friendly and went above and beyond to cater to our needs. Even though there was a slight problem with one of the bikes, they very quickly recommended a good and equally affordable place to rent bikes. The breakfast was very good and consistent with this kind of hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable too. This is by far the best hotel in Savonlinna for many reasons including its wonderful and pleasant location, away from the busy harbour area.

Nothing was negative.

perfect location and clean and spacious rooms and excellent view. We had a view to the castle. Breakfast could have been better, but we got still our belly’s full of coffee, juices, croissants and Karelian pies. would definitely recommend when staying in Savonlinna.

There is breakfast but its on the other building and not level of fancy hotels but ok.
