Great staff, Great drinks, Great Location. Enjoyed some of the local restaurants that were within walking distance of the hotel.

Always cleaning the pool for hours in the morning. Could have had a few more restaurants and variety of food for the all inclusive guests. Little to no nightly entertainment. Tried to watch football at the bar but though the game was on in our room, the bar said they could not put it on even though a whole crowd showed up to watch it on 1 of 6 tv’s.

WiFi was good, the staff was very friendly and nice: shoutout to breakfast staff and beach guards! :D

Beware of unauthorized extra charges!! I was charged about 3x for a non-alcoholic drink that was a simple fruit juice. I was charged a donation fee without my authorization. When I inquired, they mentioned it was probably taxes, or other fees, etc, and eventually accepted it was a donation they charge to everyone who has charges in the room. Please double check all of your bills! After waiting a long time at the front desk, I still wasn't able to get a refund on the wrong charges, because of several delays or excuses, so I just decided to pay to be able to leave. After they charged my credit card, they casually mentioned "we could've changed it...". My stay was nice overall, but this situation left a bad impression that could have been avoided.

I didn’t review on my first stay in 2019, but I wish I would have. I loved it then and I love it now. I can’t believe the warm welcome I received when I arrived 5 years later. Elias, the head bartender from the swim up bar recognized us and came up to personally welcome us. I cannot tell you how at home I felt from this warm welcome but Margaritaville is a vibe and I will always come back. From the minute we pulled up to the curb, someone was there to welcome us and show us the way. We received welcome drinks and were helped to our rooms. The reception staff at the lobby was so kind and welcoming. We even went upstairs to the transportation office and still the same driver, Elivis. He drove us everywhere 5 years ago and was still here to take care of our transportation needs. We felt so safe and attended to. The food was also as delicious then as it is now! I absolutely love it here and will always come back!! There was one day where we got a note on our door that they were having trouble with water pressure and we only got one towel. As soon as we called to ask for two more they brought up five. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure their guests are cared for…highly recommend this place.

Can’t think of any negatives

The location was excellent. It is right on the beach and had the perfect sunsets every night. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious. It was very quiet at night.

The bathrooms need to be updated. It looked like the vanity and mirror had been updated, but our room had a huge jacuzzi tub with a shower above that I'm not sure worked (we didn't try it). The tub was very old and jets were rusty. The separate shower looked updated, but the water pressure wasn't very good. It got the job done though. We would have appreciated better drinks and snacks service at the pool and beach.

Wedding on Saturday night had fireworks that would wake up the whole place,including children and babies...unacceptable!!! so close to hotel Sounded like bombs! Horrible experience..and should not be allowed!!

The beach was excellent. There is only one pool but it was large enough for all and loved the swim up bar. The room was very roomy for my party of 4.

The italian restaurant was great but only wished they changed the menu for that particular restaurant since the menu is the same for the others.

The property location was great, right on the beach. Staff were great especially Juan and Sebastian at the pool bar and Jaime at the Italian restaurant. He had a great memory and on our second visit remembered what wine I had the night before and brought it starlight to our table.

It’s a little dated but pool was great. The breakfast buffet some items lacked some flavor.

Love everything Margaritaville.

It would be a better idea to have more channels on the TV to be English speaking instead of Spanish since most of the clientele here is English speaking American’s & Canadian’s. Especially when the original show or movie was English speaking to begin with. I also think they should have more Margaritaville souvenirs to buy in the gift shop. The store has a small corner of t-shirts & a couple of hats. I would love to have something that says Margaritaville Costa Rica. The stuff they do have was not desirable enough to buy. They should market Margaritaville more instead of Costa Rica.

We loved the pool and having the beach so close to the hotel was the deal breaker! We can't pick a favorite from the two but have to say that the pool was so relaxing. Great job at covering the kiddie pool it blends so well with the pool bar. Dinner at the Italian restaurant was wonderful. The staff was incredibly welcoming and so kind. We also went to the outdoor bar on the second floor, it was nice- wish the racoons weren't as friendly- one scared the life out of me! On our way out we had a flat tire, the gentleman at the gate came right over as we were walking out of the lobby. He and three others helped us get air in the tire, that did not work so they swapped it out with the spare tire. It felt like 100 degrees out, we were all drenched in sweat, but these 4 guys kept going and reassured us that we were good to go. I wish I knew their names, I believe they were from maintenance and the gentleman at the gate. We truly enjoyed our stay. You have a wonderful team out there, really great kind people. The racoons! They were cute but from a distance, some were a little too friendly. Aside from that, everything was perfect. We will definitely be back next summer with the kids.

It is right on the beach. couldn’t ask for a better location if you want to be able to hear/see the ocean waves from your room. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They have professional photographers on site-we got family photos on the beach at sunset that turned out amazing (thank you to our photographer, Carlos, who made the whole experience incredible). the concierge ensured we were set up with necessities like COVID testing and airport shuttle and recommended some amazing local restaurants to try.

The building is getting a bit old, so if you’re looking for a new, high class resort feeling you may feel a little disappointed…but what they lack in fancy, they definitely make up in location (on the beach) and friendly, helpful staff.
